I'm so glad you posted this! I'm going through the same thing. I'm not sure what we should do? I'm getting enough Protein and drinking about 100 ounces of Water a day, and limiting carbs. But if I exercise 2 or 3 days a week I keep fluctuating the same 1-2 lbs. This week I worked out one day and I've lost 4 lbs. I have NO clue what's going on with my body?!?!

Is it cheating or eating like a normal person?
Maggifer replied to JENNIFER7375's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hell NO I don't consider an indulgence once in a while cheating. Now, instead of eating a King Size Snickers bar, I have 2 or 3 mini ones if I'm craving chocolate. And I agree, I didn't have my surgery as a 'diet'. I did this to completely help me change my lifestyle. I love my Mom, and she's been SUPER supportive, but whenever she sees me she's always asking "how my diet is going"? I just smile and say, "It's NOT a diet Mom, it's a lifestyle change". You're doing great so far! Hell I know if I was told I could NEVER have chocolate or something sweet again, I'd go bonkers!! -

Does anyone have problems eating meat?
Maggifer replied to smile4me_37's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thankfully no meat has proven difficult for me to eat, however an hour or later after eating I get wicked bad gas. Does anyone else have this issue? -
Started my pre-op diet and Im so hungry...
Maggifer replied to ashleyb's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eartha- Are you getting banded at Tallgrass in Topeka? I was banded there on January 14th and had my first fill yesterday. Trust me, the pre op diet is the WORST part of the whole journey. Keep on trucking -
First appt. to surgery
Maggifer replied to Kayla_ann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to a seminar on Oct 11,2008 and I was banded on January 14, 2009. So it was only about 3 months, but I was self pay. I think it all depends on your insurance coverage and requirements. -
Hey everyone! I had my surgery this morning at 8am, and I was home by noon:rolleyes: I am so thrilled I did this, and I have NO regrets. Now I'm just looking forward to healing and then taking better care of myself once I can eat solid foods. I do have a quick question though. If you have shoulder and gas pain, would you wake up from it immediately post op? Or am I likely to have it tomorrow or something? I know you all aren't doctors, I'm just wanting to know other peoples experiences. Because if I feel as good as I do now, my recovery will be ALOT better than I was thinking!!!

The quotes they've given you Policeman does seem REALLY high. My insurance doesn't cover my banding, and I'm a self pay. The total for me is only $13,500. I'd definitely look into financing and I'd sure as hell shop around for a different surgeon!

Anyone getting banded in January
Maggifer replied to Peanutband's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey all, I'm getting banded on January 14th. I can't wait, this has been a long journey for me. Overall I'd like to lose 130 lbs...right now I'm just a little over 300. Ideally I'd like to be at 170. My doctor wants me at 190 at least. Hell, I'll be happy just being under 200;) I have sleep apnea too, and I haven't heard anything about not being able to use my CPAP machine after the procedure...I hope I can b/c I use it every night! I'm a walking zombie without it. I'm excited to be one of the NEW YEARS HOTTIES! GO US!! 2009 is going to be an amazing year!!
