  1. If it is not better by 12/24 I would let the doctor know. I had a mild case of muscle strain on my left side. Your pain may just be manifesting itself in a different location. Icing for 20 min on and heat for 20 mins will ease the muscle. Just be careful not to over do it.
  2. Hi Paula, I was Bariatric Advantage shakes pre op. The chocolate flavor is great and it was nearly 40 gm of Protein. If your doctor will let you cottage cheese or dannon light and fit (60 cal) is also helpful. Good Luck! Heather
  3. Hi Newbie, That makes 2 of us. I was banded 12/17/08. I have never been happier. Congrats !
  4. Hi Debbie, Congrats! I was just banded on 12/17/08. I had to be on the pre opt diet for 2 weeks. I lost 15 lbs just from that. The first few days were a little rough put all in all it was great. I did not realize that food detox would make me soooo mooooody! Thank God for a great support system! I had a diminished energy level as well. My husband and family refused to eat in front of me. Which I found extremely helpful. I am 5 days post op and I am not even hungry. I make my self eat about every 4 hrs and I sip my Water and diet juice. I have been really lucky. I have only had to contend with the burps. I have managed to eat and drink slow enough to not get the urge to vommit. Slow and steady! I got some great advice from the doctor's office. Start practicing sipping on the liquid diet. We have been programmed to eat fast, so practice hopefully means no vommiting. GOOD LUCK! I am routing for you! Heather
  5. Hi Nicole, I was banded on 12/17/08. I had my first post op appt today. I am not hungry and I have to force myself to eat. I drink lots of Water. Sip Sip. That seems to really help. If I can share anything else with you let me know. I'd love to help! Heather
  6. I just had my PFT's as well and found out that I have a mild case of asthma. My Pulmonary doc and surgeon told me that once I lose weight that it will not be as severe. So I hope that will be the case for you too! Good luck with the Pre diet. I am on it now for my surgery the 17th of Dec. If I can encourage you or help you with shake recipes let me know. Be Blessed!
  7. I am having lap-band surgery 12/17/08. I am super excited to get a NEW lease on life. I am 33 and have acquired a few health issues. I am ready to finally lose the weight I have fought my whole life. Out with the old and and in with the new life.
