One week down on the pre-op diet. I 'm doing just fine on it. The first 2 days were the hardest. I had my pre-op hosp appt today. I'm getting very excited. The 23rd is so far away. I really like reading the post-op stories. Good Luck to all us LUCKY LOSERS!!!!

My surgery is the 23rd also. I'm doing 3 weeks of pre-op diet, today is my second day. Thank you so much for the post-op post. I think we are all ready to know what it is going to be like. Yeah for us!!!

Hi all you Lucky Losers. Is anyone mixing their own shakes? I am, its much cheaper. I am using Body Fitness Whey Protein. I mix it with skim milk. It comes in vanilla and chocolate and tastes like a milkshake w/o the ice cream. I buy it at Walmart. Good Luck to all who are starting the pre-op diet. Anya

I finely got my surgery date 3/23. YEAH!!!!!

I can't wait to start melting. I get my surgery date on Tuesday. My Doc is Dr. Hitchcock in the Kansas City area.

I have BCBS federal employee. I was quick and easy. No hoops. BMI 42, and sleep apnea. I hate that some insurance companies make it so had for patients. Either it's a covered benefit or it's not. Get rid of the hoops already!!! Lap band is a good thing.

I just got my approval today!!!! Is anyone else out there using Dr. Hitchcock @ Malley Surgical. At one time he was @SMMC.

I got my approval today!!! No out of pocket cost for me. I can hardly believe it. I will have a March surgery date. I going to start my pre-op diet tomorrow, just in case I can get in on a cancellation. I might be one of the few people that likes protein shakes. I am soooo Happy I can barley sit still to write this. Anya:thumbup:

I am currently waiting for my ins. approval. I have also given some thought to going to OA to help me with my food issues. Is anyone else going to OA? What do you think? Anya

Cara, good to here from you. I have read on here about all the gas people have for a couple of days. Do you feel Dr. H has LISTENED to you concern? If you do, then everything should be OK. Are you allowed to take anything for it? Gas really hurts. that along w/ the surg pain must be very bad. Im thinking of you. I want it all to be good. Keep in touch if your up to it. Anya

Hello Cara, WOW Monday, I'm very happy for you. I wish it were me. After you got your approval how long was it to surg date. I have only had one consult with Dr. Hitchcock. Do you know if I will have a pre op visit? I think I get to stay at New Hope for surg. My ins is BCBS Federal PPO, and TriCare. Their office seems to think I will have no problems with Ins. I hope their right! How are you feeling? Monday is coming up fast. I can't wait to hear how it goes. I will be thinking of you on Monday. HAPPY SURGERY DAY TO YOU! Anya

Hello, I live in OP. My Doc is Dr. Hitchcock. I'm waiting for my Ins approval. All my info went to Ins on 1/12. I'm very ready to start my new life. I have 100lbs to lose. BMI 42. I havent gone to a support group yet, but I will when I get the courage. Anya

Hi, I just had my first consult 12/9. I'm on my way to become a 09 Bandster. It might be a long road to surgery, but it will be worth the wait.
