carrie - every slip is different. mine was sharp stabbing pain after eating which lead to sharp pain all the time. sort of in my chest where you feel pressure after eating something wrong. lots of vomitting. i definitely knew something was wrong. i didnt know what at the time but i was aware that it was severe. really thought i just had stomach irritation. some people just lose all restriction and then have weight gain. hope you are doing ok. tngirl - i didnt have restriction until my 3rd fill. congrats on your surgery.

i am here. i just dont know about the ab thing. i am pretty sure that like 6-8 weeks after surgery you should be fine. give them a call though and leave a message with the nurse. they are nice and will call you back so you know for sure.

definitely. i still feel the same but i know i look different because of pictures. no one ever says anything about me looking better though i guess cause i am still overweight. Thus is life. sometimes i feel even heavier than when i started which is ridiculous since i have lost 75 - 80 lbs. anyways, i agree with the headthing.

well i still have 200 pounds to lose. i have had lapband for over a year and am still fat. my complications really messed stuff up. makes me sad sometimes. i would not have had another surgery to start with but now i am not so sure. probably wont convert to something else but it does cross my mind.

corliss - i didnt realize you had lost so much weight. that is awesome. sorry for your gallbladder problems. i am not so sure i shouldnt have bypass or something. i think maybe i could benefit from the malabsorptive part of that procedure. All my friends who have had bypass are under 200. I feel like I should have been tons more successful than I have been. I had this surgery because of the risks involved with bypass. The scale has started moving a little for the first time in 5 months so I am hopeful. Probably going to try the 5 day pouch test after the holidays. Had 5 fills since band repair and can still eat more than i think i should. going back mid january anyway. doc said you can call and cancel if you need to but at this rate i would like to go back in early. Happy Holidays to all of you.

i understand. I have only lost about 1/3 of what i want to lose granted i have had complications. I am not always sure that I chose the right surgery.

There is something called the 5 day pouch test. It is supposed to help you feel the tightness of your pouch and is basically a short term post-op kind of diet. It also gives your pouch a bit of a break if it has been irritated which can also cause the reflux. I havent done this but know that a lot of people do it every once in a while when they start to feel like they need to eat more like an early post-op. Here is a link to it: Living After Weight Loss Surgery Blog by Kaye Bailey definitely if you dont feel better soon call the doctor. corliss is a great source of advice and i agree with her. good luck and hope you feel better soon.
