    given up

I know exactly what you're going through. I was so excited to begin my journey with lab band but have had nothing but complications. I am now starting to believe that my band may have slipped. I had to have a revision because my tubing was kinked before. I have lost 40 lbs all together. It has been an excrutiating ride from having day where you can eat whatever you want to not being able to eat for days. Right now I am on day 7 for not having anything in my stomach but apple juice, water, and tums. I can't stand this whole process anymore. I thought that getting the band was a milion times better than bypass but I think I made a mistake. If you have any questions let me know, I am sure that I have been through it as well.

I can't live like this anymore!

Thanks for your response. I have had such a pain trying to lose weight. Before I couldn't find my "Sweet Spot", and now my body won't give up any weight because it thinks it's starving. I don't regret my surgery but I need some of my issues to be resolved. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues as well. Laura
  6. I was banded in October of 2007. I have lost about 60 lbs. I found out a little while ago that I have a kink. I was able to get fluid in but I can't get it out. I was fine with it a for a long time, but lately it's gotten hard. During the last 2 months I have been so miserable, I have days when it's hard to get water down. The last 3 weeks have been the hardest of all. I can't survive on a diet consisting of Atkins shakes, Ensures, and Tomato soup anymore. I maxxed out my insurance benefits to get banded and I was wondering if anybody knew if insurance would cover surgery to unkink my band?

Hey Dee. It took a long time to find my "sweet spot" with the band. This only recently happened. After surgery I could almost eat like normal. It's definitely a learning process. I had to have fluid take out of my band yesterday because I haven't been able to eat for the last month. It's been hard. But there are many pluses as well. It teaches you how to eat and why you're eating. That emotional eating doesn't work anymore. Good Luck! If you have any questions, let me know. Laura

Hi. My name is Laura. I am 26 years old and had my band placed in October of 2007. I have lost 55-60 lbs within the last year. It took a long time but I'm getting there.
