  1. Well...this is the last place I expected to get bitched at but I can't do anything about that.....I just wanted to know if other people cheated.....No thanks to JuneAct2. I have taken extreme thought into whether or not to go forward. I have researched more than anyone I know about what it involves, what steps I have to take and that its not a free ticket to being slim. I know I have a problem and that is why I see a therapist. I am going to OA (overeaters anonymous). And because I have major depression its even harder for me!! Look I already hate myself so you don't need to be doin' it for me. I don't want to hear from you anymore on this thread JuneAct2, thank you

Everything will be fine Ivernous! This is going to be a huge life-changing struggle for all of us - we didn't wind up in this position because we're "normal" eaters. But together, we can - I know we can achieve success! Love God, Love Yourself and the rest will fall into place. Please keep in touch with me, I'd like to have you as a friend. :cursing:

  2. How's everyone doing with smoking?? My surgery is 2/18/09 and for better or worse, my surgeon doesn't require patients to quit - although it's obviously not advised. I've smoked everday for 7 years and I'm terrified to try and quit. We all know how bad it is - but I love it - well I love it and hate it. Part of getting the band is to be "free" from food - and I need to be free from smoking also. I know I NEED to stop - but I'm scared.

  4. Okay, 7 hours until surgery. SEVEN!

I am freaking out a bit, not gonna lie! :w00t:

I want a glass of Water sooooo dang bad!! I would give up food for a month for just a sip!

Oh, wait, I AM giving up food for a month. LOL!

Yea, I get goofy when I am nervous!

Just wanted to wish all my fellow Groundhog Day bandsters-to-be GOOOOOOOD LUCK!!!!

    Hugs,

CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm so excited for you!! Let us all know how you're doing tomorrow!!

    Much Love!!

  5. I'm starting pre-op liquids on Tuesday...I'm glad it's finally come because I've been having my 'last meal' since November and gained about 10 extra pounds I didn't need, but I know it was anxiety. I'm trying to think of things that will occupy my time since I'm home all day and won't have my hobby (eating) to keep me busy anymore...wow! its MY time to 'get a life'. Good luck to all February banders, and everyone else

Oh Goodness do I relate! I start my pre-op liquids on Wednesday and all weekend I stuffed myself - I can't believe how addicting food really is. I'm also feeling a lot of anxiety - but I know I'm following the right path. Keep me posted on how you're doing, okay? Best wishes always!

  6. I am considering using Dr. Daniel Davis for my lap band. I have read alot of good things when searching online about credentials. But never heard of anyone's personal experience. I would appreciate any info anyone can share.

    Hi There!

I'm scheduled with Dr. Davis on 2/18 for surgery! I have my first meeting with him on 2/11, but his office staff and NP have been wonderful so far!! He came highly recommended from a friend of mine who is a OR nurse at Valley Hospital. Good Luck!!

  7. Hello! My name is Melissa and I'm hoping to have Lap Band surgery in January or February 2009. After several information sessions and meetings, I met with Dr. Davis's office at Valley Hospital in NJ. I started the 6 months of weigh-ins in August and will be done January 7, 2009.

I'm 24 years old with a BMI of 49 and 115 lbs to lose. I'm scared, excited, nervous, thrilled... etc...

I also have PCOS which hopefully will be alleviated through weight loss.

I'm submitting to the Horizon BCBC NJ approval process in January, and I pray I get approved! I don't really know what to expect during the insurance approval process. My worst fear is to be denied after all of this time and preparation.

I just keep praying that I get approved.

Anyways, thank you all for being here!

    Always,

    Melissa
