  1. Happy 52nd Birthday TklMeSkinny!

  2. Happy 51st Birthday TklMeSkinny!

  3. Elyse, that happened to me a couple of mos back and they had to unfill me some. it was too tight, caused the night time reflux, a night cough, couldnt sleep, bile in my throat when i woke up... NOT good. i would definitely call and let your Dr. determine if a slight unfill is called for.
  4. Good luck, Elyse! And outside work is good exercise. I hadn't thought of that! I've got some beds that need planting, and of course the lawn always needs mowing in the spring! I hope your soreness goes away soon, and burns off to muscle from it!
  5. OK all. We're at nearly 18 months and i'm having difficulty. I cant seem to get motivated. My eathing is still very good, good restriction still (think i may need another fill but just for tweaking purposes). But I'm having a hard time getting my butt up to exercise!!!!! Any suggestions? Not asking for a butt-kicking, i've already done that the last week or two. But I seriously would like to know what you've all done to get yourself motivated. Thanks. Rhonda
  6. I hear ya!!! Normally, I would only buy one sweater every winter, more because I liked the style than for warmth. And, I actually have a cardigan that I've owned for over 15 years that I like when I'd get chilly, or even as my 'coat' when I'd go outside in the winter. This winter, I think I bought every sweater I could find! And, I bought 3 prs of long underwear, warm socks, slippers, and 2 coats! I love being able to wear the sweaters, but I've also never been so cold in my life! I will never tease my husband about turning the heat up ever again! LOL
  7. Hey There! Your picture looks great! I need to get one updated on here, too. I havent been on here in quite a while, need to get back on it.

I've lost 72 lbs so far, and have been stuck there since about Christmas! Doc says my body went into 'maintenance mode' and i jsut need to kick-start it. Easier to say than to do! LOL But even if I never los another pound i'm pretty happy still with the surgery!

    How are you doing???

  8. Haven't been on this site in ages. How have you been? How is your weightloss journey going?

  9. Princess, i'm so sorry that you're going through a tough time. Please know that you're not the first, and you're definitely not alone! You should look for a local support group, or maybe even look into starting one if there's not one out there. Check with your local church, community center, or even your Dr. office to see. I also think it's a great idea to get away for a while, but remember that you will have to face and handle the situations upon your return. There is also a self-help book you might be interested in. It's called "Mars & Venus: Starting Over" and it did help me through my divorce. I do know that flying is fine. I was also banded Nov of 08 and have taken numerous flights since then, from 45 minute shorties, up to flights to Europe last summer. No problem. However, let your Dr. know before you leave. My Dr. gave me special instructions that I could have on me at all times to let everyone know in an emergency about my surgery. Good luck to you! And remember, you have lost a lot of weight! So you know you can continue to do it. Rhonda

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Well Done! That's Fabulous Kathy! I know that's a big goal!!! I started the C25K a while ago, but couldnt finish due to some problems. But i'm starting back up today with it. Hopefully i'll be ready to run a 5K this spring/summer!!!! My problem now is that I was too tight, getting sick after every meal, even just liquids sometime. My Dr. was out so saw his partner. Partner couldnt find port, dug for a while, 6 inch bruise and about 25 needle holes in my abdomen later he sent me to hospital to do a fill by xray. He found the port exactly where I was telling him all along it was. He kept saying he could 'feel' the lump of the port though, and kept trying about 2 inches from where my port actually is. So, now i'm on a plateau, have a sore abdomen, bruising, and he took out over 1cc, and I only had 5 in there. Now, i'm hungry all the time, and eating anything and everything, mostly because i'm upset over what happened! And my biggest fear, what lump was he digging in to that he found and thought was my port? Anyway, I go back to my Dr. on Friday, and will hopefully get a small fill to get me back on track. I also just joined our local health club here, so maybe that too will help jump start me back to losing. Thanks for letting me ramble.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Kathy, I'm so glad that you're off your plateau! I havent been on the posts for a while as i'm frustrated and can't get off mine! I've been stuck at 72 lbs now for almost 4 mos! What did you do to get off yours? Any help/suggestions are appreciated at this point. Rhonda
  12. Mom, Good luck to you! I'm sorry that the band didnt work for you. Are you or they talking about possibly redoing it later? Tkl

When does the food intolerance start?

jessi - for me, the two foods that I CAN NOT eat are rice and fish. I can eat canned tuna, but not grilled or any other fish that is in a filet or what I call 'real fish' :tongue_smilie:. One bite and i'm so stuck that i PB! Rice I understand because it continues to swell even after chewing/swallowing. But fish i never have understood. You may find as time goes on that certain foods may stick, but you may not. Becky, you are so right! LOTS & LOTS of trial and error! I've received lots of guidance and warnings about not drinking while you eat. One experience I had explained why to me in a physical way: At a restaurant, had Water with my meal, and I love their bread... so I had 2 bites of bread and a bit of water. The water pushed the bread down, but not through. It made it stick more! So be careful if you drink while you eat: it may help you get food down, but it may make the sticking worse. I am on a plateau and cranky right now! Arghhh  But have Dr. appt this afternoon for another fill. Havent had one in 3 months and it's definitely time! Good luck all! Tkl
  15. YEAH EBONY!!!! Congrats!! I've been on that dratted plateau for weeks now!!! But at least not gaining! I'm going to workout and run my butt off this weekend and try to get off it for good! Luck and Hugs to all! Tkl
