    Today is the Day

I think I must be the luckiest one to have the sleeve because I hardly feel that I have had any surgery at all. I got home today and going to work tomorrow. I have no pain and taking my fluids without any problems. I think I am going to hate the clear liquids for 10 days. I find the most difficulty with limiting myself to 2 oz every 15 min and of course some green colored diarrhea. Susan was on her way home when I last spoke to her, she seemed a bit more sore but was doing well and in great sprirts. If anyone has to go through this surgery, they should go in a group, its much more fun and not nearly as boring after surgery. For me, this was a piece of cake. Thanks for all the well wishes.

    Home and recovering

God bless you. I know how it feels to wake in the ICU, totally scarry, I am sorry they wouldnt let your husband come home. He must feel lost and totally out of control being so far away but I am sure that he gets lots of updates. Good luck with the rest of your recovery. We are all thinking of you

    Got an ice-Cream Maker?

My last accidental recipe was tofu chocolate pudding. It is very simple, loaded with Protein and low cal and you would never tell it was made from tofu 1 container of silken tofu at room temp 2 tablespoons cocoa 1 to 2 squares unsweetened chocolate (melted) stevia or equal to taste thats it. My sister was amazed and it tastes very rich

    I've been sleeved

Hi everyone, 2nd day hasnt been bad but then I slept all day. I could sleep last night due to bad acid reflux but that is better today thanks to medication. I passed my leak test too and Dr Aceves has been in a couple of times but I missed him once, he was letting me sleep. He and his staff have been exceptional as most of you already know. Internet access in this place sucks though. I have my own service but roaming is sooo expensive. One more day and then we are home.. I am officially a sleeve sister!

    Today is the Day

The surgery was a breeze for me, very little pain and only needed pain medication right after surgery because I was up and walking as soon as I got back to the room. Dr Aceves has been in several times and the staff is wonderful, they are all about our comfort. Doing this with Susan {Vangel} has been an absolute gift, She and Bob are the greatest friends ever. I am so blessed to have all of you. This not the medication talking either. Well off to walk and check on Susan again Ruthi

  21. Why not get the surgery in the US??? Here are several reasons: 1. Not everyone has insurance that covers WLS and must pay out of pocket for the same privelege as those that got lucky enough to work for a company that pays for that premium. 2. Some of us have already have paid for one surgery out of pocket and it didnt work for us so we have to resort to another procedure for the same result and again, money is a big issue. It cost 18 to 20K for the surgery in the US and about 1/2 that by a reputable surgeon in Mexico or another country. BTW, the first surgery that didnt work for me was done by a reputable surgeon in the US in a clinic instead of a private hospital. 3. There is really no comparison for the care you receive in Mexico verses the US.. The Mexican Hospital is private, state of the art, English speaking staff and a private room. I got a clinic for 3 hrs in the US and went home. I could go on, but I think that there are a couple of people on this site that can educate you much better than I can and I am sure that they will have some input into your comment.
