  3. Hi I am sorry for responding to your question so late. With all the exersize it is hard to find time to get on here. But anyway losing 130 lbs is never easy but I dedicated one year of my life to exersize everyday and eat the right things. I won't eat mayo, fried foods, or fat dressings. I only drink water and skim milk. My surgeon told me that I would be lucky to lose 100 lbs. As of right now I have lost 147 so I guess I showed him. They call me their poster child which really makes me feel good. Believe in yourself and never give up and you will get what you want out of this whole process. Even if you just walk everyday it is better than sitting on the couch eating Dibs ice cream watching TV. Good luck to you! Keep me posted on your progress :)

  4. Yes i met with him and i go back to meet with him on the 30th of June...my weight lost goal is 30lbs he told me to lose 30lbs and he will see how I’m doing on our appt on the 30th...so should i get a date on the 30th?.. I go meet with the psychologist on Tuesday...kind of weird going to meet with a psychologist...what kind of will she be asking? Now that I’m getting to the last appointments I feel funny... is this normal? I know I’m asking lots of questions, but can you believe I don’t know anyone who has had the surgery....

  5. Good morning! Yes every kaiser program is different, but about 1/2 of my support group went through Richmond and the other 1/2 went through South San Francisco. You have to get to your surgery weight "range" before they will schedule you a surgery date. Once you do that, SSF moves FAST!! Have you met with the surgeon yet?

  6. Hi Riley,

i also have kaiser im going to south san fran.. so am i going to have to jump through hoops to get approved for my surgery? i have alsmost done all appt but dont have a surgery date.. is every kaiser program different.

  8. congradulations to you... i did have a question for you.. i also plan to be banded, now when i met with my surgeon he's soo against me getting the band. he says people that get the band not only lose weight slow they also may not lose more than 150lb, now me i need to lose about 250lb or something close to this.. may i ask how much you weighed before getting the band?? did you find it hard to lose those 130lb since you got banded... im trying to weigh my options but i just do not want GB...God BLess

    1000 calorie diet

Thank you this does sound good, cant wait to try....
  10. WTF.. my surgeon has me on this 1000 calorie diet and im already goin crazy...so if i drink my isopure shake for lunch and breakfast this will leave me with 800 calories to eat at dinner.. do anybody have some recipes theyve tried that is good... beside salad.. ive had that.. my thing is i need a mix of things or i will get straight bored...
  11. Thanks guy's.. Let me say im not going to give up... this is something ive been wanting and i believe can help me get healthy.. i will weigh my options with both changing surgeons and the LB vs. GB. it is good to no about the skin.. i know.. i know i shouldnt be worried about skin:blushing: but it is something that has always been in the back of my mind, maybe because i watch to much darn T.V... but its good to know the info that you all have shared, and i will use it. i will def stay in touch to let you all no where im at in my journey!! God Bless
  12. Today i met with my surgeon for the first time, and he totally crushed ma lil dreams..:frown:I'm 400lb and i was interested in getting the LB, but due to my weight and my BMI this is something "he says" i should not consider... now when i first started doin my research the whole reason for not getting the GB was because of the weight loss sooo fast, and the access skin and the cosmetic surgery most likely needed after being that my weight is high, and with the LB you are losing it at a slower paste so not as much skin...I'm clueless of where do i go now... my surgeon actually told me i should really think about if i want surgery being thaI'm in perfectly good health besides my weight... i no that this procedure is a tool and this is the reason why want it so i can actually see light at the end of the tunnelll.. do u know of anyone who has either had the LB weighing 400lb or someone who has had GB and didn't have access skin, the last thing i wanna do is have to go through cosmetic surgery!! please share all your thoughts...
  13. I jus wanted to add that I also have a 3 1/2 year old, what I decided to do is change his lifestyle along with mine, being that I have to take vitamins daily, I make him take a multi children’s vitamin, now of course the portions and food I eat; something’s he don’t like (veggies), but we are a family. just so he don’t feel like mommy is sick that’s why she take medicine every day! Or when it comes down to the surgery, I want him to know that im doing this for the both of us. For me but I did think about him when I started this process! Be truthful... your getting healthy! You are making your life longer! You are using a tool (3 year olds know what tools are) to help you get healthy!! God Bless...
  14. I'm glad I got a response from someone...the process on getting the LB. I?m going through Kaiser P. in San Francisco, and it feels like they make you go through more than any other place. I have been to 2 orientation classes 1st one to learn more about the program and the other to learn nutrition. Pretty interesting stuff. But I have like 3 more appointments before my actual surgery date.they have a number of things they want you to do in the getting ready stage!! Which I must admit is much harder then I thought!

    What about yourself?

Nice to meet you and Good luck on your journey to a healthy lifestyle :)
