wow, that was a tremendous amount of weight to lose in 5 weeks, you go girl.....glad it all worked out for your friends, don't be a stranger...

why do u think u are to blame for the band slipping? My doc says mine slipped cause i lost weight and the band became too loose., and what if someone gets the stomach flu? then what? is that our fault? I do understand there are thing we can do to increase the chances of band slippage, but come on now how they frown when there are things out of our control that can cause it to happen. good luck to u, I just had mine fixed 4 weeks ago and am terrified of losing it, cause my doc says if you have a slip the chances r higher for us to have a reccurance. let us know how you make out..:smile2:

good luck to u, I really feel for u, cause i too felt the same way when mine slipped, although, I dont know why he didn't deflate you, cause just about everyone Ive heard who had a slip was deflated for 6 weeks?:thumbup:

I wish I was so lucky, this is my post above and after 3 days of the slip I had to have emergency surgery and have my band revised, 3 hr surgery, lots of scar tissue around the band, I could not eat or drink anything lost 15 lbs in a week. I am 4 weeks post op, just got a 2 cc fill and gained the 15 lbs back:scared2:..anyway they used the same band and just hiked it up and sewed it back in place, he called it an acute prolapse and said it was due to the weight loss and the band got loose and slipped, he said it was a pretty severe prolapse. good luck, sounds like u will be fine.....:thumbup:

Wow, well first of all, congratulations on your upcoming surgery, how exciting. Second, let me second that, cause I can't believe it myself, and how does no one know how incompetent their staff is!!!:thumbup: That place is a mess...:cursing: incompetent is being kind, your not the only one who has had problems Maggie, but the doc's are great. I wonder if there is a specific # or person to complain to. I have already told Hoffman how we all feel, but he works for the University, so I dont know how much input he has......:frown:

was at 202.8 today at the hoff's. he gave me 2 cc's which is what he puts in after initial banding in the o.r. been eating and feel no difference, which he said probably wouldn't. going back on april 21 at 12:45. He is leaving for Europe tomorrow for 10 days. hope all is well with everyone else...

thanks Biggurl, I needed to hear that, up again today, how can anyone gain 20 lbs in 3 weeks? I can I guess... One day at a time, thats how I got fat, so I guess thats how I have to lose, but boy it goes on a lot faster than it comes off......:thumbup: Hang in there val your pobably just irritated, I hope your band is ok, i wouldn't wish that on anyone, but when mine slipped I couldn't get anything down, not even water...

Out of onederland today, so depressed, just ate and ate, cookies, whipped cream, ice cream, didn't matter, until after the day was over, and now i am really depressed it will take months to undue what i've done in a few weeks,:rant: :smilielol5: :cursing:

Good for u vet, your weight is good. don't worry about the 12, its probably water. I still cant talk right, sounds like laryngitis, but it is from being intubated, said my cords might be permanenly damaged, gotta see a ent specialist to see whats up. I also am up 12 lbs so your not alone. see him on tues, hope to get a fill...:w00t:

hope all is well val, i see him tues, i need a fill badly, i am starving all the time. i am trying to do atkins right now but it is very hard, im crabby and miserable. was at 197 this am.

that is bizzare isn't it Val, I know i've been all over the spectrum since i got the band, too loose, too tight its wierd..

Im glad your ok val, hopefully thats all it is and your on your way to feeling better. Jenn, Hope your feeling better soon. I am back up to 200 today a total of 15 lbs since surgery. I cant imagine not having the band, I would be back to almost 300. going in on tues. hope he fills me some..I definitly need it.

Wow Val, you sound urgent! when did all this happen, was it sudden? Maybe your just irritated, do fluids go down ok? I wouldn't wait till tues. if your symptoms get worse or you feel it is unbearable, thats what i did and even though your band is ok, don't put yourself thru it. I will check your post later, doing a craft show till 3 pm.. call my cell if u need to 507-3636...hang in there. How's your dad doing?

Really Val, your too tight, dont u just have 2 cc's? wow, I hope I can get 2 cc's and be good. He says every fill and unfill is different, you can be loose with 5 cc one time and tight with 3 the next and now that my band has been moved it may be totally different this time around, I just hope I dont have all the problems I had last time....whats going on with u val, do u work, is that what is going on? hope all gets better...

Yeah val, i used to do that too, now just in the am and I know my body and I know I am capable of gaining a lot of weight fast, and that is what i am doing. If I could just hold the same I would be fine but i am gaining fast.. I hear ya Vet, i am starving as soon as i'm done eating WTF!!!

He wants me to wait 6 weeks, eeeeeek... I didn't know I would feel this much better this quick. I have an appt on the 30th I think and if they didn't cancel it, im going in and if they did, I am calling after next week, this is insane, At least you have an excuse Rain, and even then u only gained 20lbs since december, I gained this in a week:scared2::thumbup::scared2: help, I need a fill...... My fill appt is the 21 of april!!!!!

I can crochet simple things, but love the look of knitting much better. by th way, i have gained 8 lbs already!

none anymore, did jewelry, mostly attend now...

Yes maggie, I waited almost a year also, and yes, the office needs a good manager..And if you weren't nervouse, you wouldn't be normal, but it will be over before you know it, and you'll be on your way to a healthier you....look at me, I just had to have a revision after 20 months, it was like having the surgery twice! lol.
