How was the support group? Who all went?

Hey everyone! Glad to find this thread. I have PCOS too and haven't been trying to prevent pregnancy for 5 yrs. In those 5 years, I only had a cycle when I took provera. During my 6 months preop diet (req'd by ins) I had a cycle without provera. Next thing I know, I'm finding a very faint positive on the test. Went through about a month of terrible HCG results... and of course, miscarried. I was banded April 24th and have only had one cycle without medication since then. No BFP yet :-(. I too know the feeling of the many many negative test. Expensive and discouraging! We haven't tried Clomid yet but with me almost 31 and my DH 41.... we might have to break down and give it a try. We're just horified at the thought of multiples lol. We'll all just have to keep trying.. knowing it will happen someday! I look forward to hearing wonderful stories from all of you trying. Congrats to the ones that are carrying precious cargo now!

Hey CD! Welcome to the thread! Congrats on having made it this far and having a surgery date!!! I guess Kristen must be Neomi's (SP) new assistant? That name don't ring a bell. As you can see from this tread.. most all of us have had some time or another when we felt forgotten about. They just have so many patients! From my experience.. sounds like once you finish the sleep study and the nutrition class... you should be ready to go. I think the preop testing was like a week prior to surgery. They called the day before to tell me what time to be there for preop. Same for surgery.. the hospital will call you the day before to let you know what time to be there surgery day. As far as the code for the realize band site.. I can't help there. I don't have the realize. I understand the desire to know NOW what lies ahead! We all do! So ask away if you have questions... Someone ... well most everyone... may remember more than I do.. I think I'm having early alzheimers... or part timers lol. Again, welcome! Make yourself at home.

I don't know what to recommend. Maybe I'm being punished for missing my October one because mine is not until Nov. 20th and she said that was the first available.... obviously not lol. But I can't see where it would hurt to go ahead and schedule it. She said they do 25 a day.. which only starts after lunch (1pm i guess). You're right DI they need to get other locations or get someone who can do them all day long. From the look of the seminar last month.. they are still getting ALOT of new patients. I tried to get a doctor in Huntsville to take over my care and he said that he would but there's a fee to join that "group"??? The fee is a whopping $1500!! I was like, what's the group? What am I actually paying for? Couldn't really get an answer but no matter what she would have told me... I ain't paying THAT!! Gosh I've been a ranter lately lol.... sorryyyyy

You're doing great too! Jason - Thanks for looking at the Tupperware site. I know it's costly but it last FOREVER!!! Let me know if you need any help on the site. Well...... let me give y'all a word for the wise.. or now experienced I should say lol. I had canceled my last fill appt. Hated to take off work again and hadn't lost any weight. I know I shouldn't have but I did. So yesterday I call to make an appt. for when we come through Birmingham next Thursday. Would you believe their fill appts are booked up until NOVEMBER 20th?? WHAT??? I said dang I need to learn how to do these things myself!!! It takes maybeee 30 seconds to do it. Anyway.. I was not happy about it but what can I do?? So take my advice and keep your appointments.. and schedule the next one when you're there. You can always cancel if something comes up but go ahead and make it so you don't have to wait a month to get in there! And lastly, unfortunantly I won't be able to make the support meeting this time. Y'all have fun and I can't wait to hear how it goes!

Hey Gang! I'm so excited that everyone is doing well! Thankful that recovery has gone so well for the newly banded and that things are falling in place for the preopers! It'll be here before you know it! I'm at a MAJOR stand still with my loss but I'm trying to remember that I knew this would probably happen. I did stop going to the gym and stopped making the best food choices for a couple weeks. I'm back in the gym everyday now and doing some restistance tube work outs at home. I'm SOOO ready to see the scale move again. I skipped my last fill thinking that I didn't really need it but I'm ready for one now. I just really hate to go back for with NO loss in over 2 months. It's embarrasing to say the least. ANyway...... I'm not giving up.. this is a life long adventure!!! Off topic: I'm having an online Tupperware party if any of you need any. First, I saw your name on the role sheet for our last support group last week! Thanks for comimg to this and I hope you enjoyed the meeting! And...Best For Last... Hey Jason! I'm doing fine! Trying to fit another fill into my schedule. It's so expensive taking off work and using that gas but I've got to do something! I haven't lost a pound in WEEKS! I do have some port discomfort.. it's not really sharp pain but I do know it's there somedays. I'm not sure if its the weather or what.. like a tugging feeling.

I was banded 4/24 and finally had one cycle without provera. Other than that, nothing has changed. It was a normal 5 days like it used to be though. For about 6 years now, I only have a cycle when I take the medication. I was hoping it would return sooner - as we are wanting to get pregnant - but maybe it'll happen soon! Best wishes!

Once you get it developed... it will give you a link.. a bunch of jibber. Copy it and go to " my signature" which is under "user CP". Past it there and it should display after each post. They do have a restriction on how many lines it can be so be sure it don't give you the error message right about it .. after you try saving it.

Hey everyone!! Seems like it's been a while since I've been here. We went on a 4 day trip to Gulf Shores and I'm trying to get work and the house back in shape. Dash - How did the preop visits go? I'm excited for you! Just a few more days!! You'll be banded in no time!

I talked with one of the nutritionist at the Wellness Center. She said it last until about 7:30. I'm sure we can leave early if needed.

I'm not sure which room it's in but I plan to go in the door that faces Governors Drive and if you walk down a little bit you'll see the "Wellness Center" on the right. I assume they can direct us.

It's at the Huntsville Hospital Medical Mall. It's at the corner of Governors Drive and Memorial parkway. If you're coming from the north - take Governors drive exit, go left up under the parkway and you'll see it. I think I remember someone saying it the old mall building.. but that was before I moved here. It starts at 6pm. Hopefully enough of us can come tonight that they'll start working on a seperate support group for us.
