  1. I had my first episode with PBing the other day. It was TERRIBLE!! I pray that I will be more careful and hope that will NEVER happen again. Every since that day, I have NO restriction. I am at 5cc's in a 10cc band. I can't even tell it's in there. Now I'm wondering if the band slipped. How would I know? What type scan do they perform to tell if it's slipped or not?
  2. oh good!!! Keep us posted!
  3. Hi Nana! I live in Fayetteville and work in HSV.. :tongue_smilie:
  4. Where was this support meeting located? I wonder if we can contact the administrator of that facility and see about getting a room for the bandsters too. I would love to have a support group here but don't know of a location we could have it.
  5. 2 weeks from when I sent my final paperwork to Neoami. I assume she sent it in very soon after I got it all to her.
  6. Congrats on getting it submitted! Mine took about 2 weeks I think. Let's hope yours gets approved soon! They always say 4 weeks...
  7. The countdown is on Jason!!! I know you're excited!! tickerfactory.com is where i got the ticker to track the weight loss. They have LOTS of them to choose from.
  8. Hi Patricia! PBing stands for Productive Burping... when food isn't chewed good or it's just not a good choice for you... (Different people have different things they can't eat.. bread, chicken, etc... and some have no problem foods) ..anyway.. when it gets really stuck, it has to come up or do down. I've had a few times that I would hurt but it would go away in a minute or two.. but this time it wouldn't go away. It felt like I was going to throw up but it was actually more like a burp with food coming up... and when it came up it was OBVIOUS that I hadn't chewed it good enough. Hope I haven't grossed anyone out too bad!
  9. Well I'm finally feeling normal again. I never knew PB'ing would be THAT bad. I don't mean to dwell on the negative experience.. I just really don't want it to happen to any of y'all! I was sick for about an hour and half... pb'ed 3 times and then threw up 3 times. For the next 20 hours or so, I felt like a wild cat had gotten into my throat. I woke up all night last night with my throat in pain. I had to continually drink water to keep it from hurting. Today has been fine but be assured... I have chewed the food WELL!!!!! On a positive note, I've lost 5 lbs this week. I had gained 2 during the 4th of July weekend so I love those plus 3 more. I'm getting ever so close to the 70's... to bad it's not 170 haha but it'll come in time!! How's everyone doing? Question... are y'all taking daily vitamins??
  10. HAHA I've never quoted my own comment... But make that about 5 times now..... Not just PB'ing.. THROWING UP!!
  11. Well bandsters.. today was the day.. actually less than 10 mins ago. I've officially had my first pb and let me tell you.. IT HURTS! Actually the pb part feels like relief. The pain and after is undescribable! As I sit here and type this.. I've thrown up 2 more times... Take my advice and CHEW CHEW CHEW!!
  12. CONGRATS!! I'm so happy for you! My date was a month out also.. but it flew by.
  13. Gosh Jason, you have more patience than I do.. I would be sitting in that waiting room waiting to schedule if I couldn't get a response any other way. I know they are very busy but DANG!! After having to wait 6 months and meet all the requirements... it's got to be very disgusting to be put off like that. I'm sorry you're having to go through this. I hope you hear something soon. Keep us updated!!
  14. Good morning ladies!!! Missy - I have had a few episodes of ... this isn't going down good. It hurts! My problem is like Shawna.... I realize I'm eating too fast. So if I slow down it's usually fine.. if it's something I wasn't really wanting BAD.. I just stop eating it. I haven't had to PB anything yet and hope I don't. The pain in the chest is rough enough!!! Shawna- the second fill went fine. I am at 5.5 cc's now. We left for MS the day after and gosh it seems that all we do is eat down there. We had a family reunion so that means nothing but food. I do feel more restriction in the way that I have to eat slower and chew better. As far as being less hungry... I hope to see that begin now that I'm hope and staying busy... vs. just having nothing to do but eat. Also... It did seem to take a while for Dr. Miles' claim to go through on mine too. I can't remember how long but it was a while. I'm sure they have already filed it but are now having to send documentation to support the claim. We go through that with alot of our claims (at my job). That's great that they are paying your copays!!!!!!!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!
  15. You're welcome! I know exactly how it feels to go into it blind. I had called BCBS, the surgeon, the hospital, researched online... and then I FINALLY found a bandster that would share their EOB (Explanation of Benefits) with me. It's scary enough going into something like this.. but to have NO clue on how much money you'll be out of pocket.... well it doesn't make it easier! Of course, everyone's benefits are different but some idea is better than none. Well .... I go for fill #2 today. I'm hoping for some restriction this time!!!!! This month has been a slow loosing month! I think maybe a total of 4 pounds.. I know I know .. that's a pound a week and that's average but dang I need it to move a little faster! I'll be leaving for MS tomorrow so hope everyone has a WONDERFUL and SAFE 4th of July!
  16. I have BCBS PPO and it paid for the 80% for the surgeon and anesthia. I had a $150 outpatient copay, then on my 20% of the rest I paid Dr. Miles - $452.00 - Anesthia - $130.00 It does depend on your plan though!! But that's what my experience was.
  17. Na... I did pick up some fruit to have during those afternoons that I feel like I can't get full.. which has been all of them lately. I am really hoping this next fill does some good!!! Sorry to hear about the car ac. Gotta have that air during this time of the year. Mine has it's moments... Seems like everytime my hubby rides with me it don't want to work... guess I'm going to have to leave him at home on these hot summer days haha. I'm amazed that I'm actually enjoying summer time this year.. never have before. I guess that little bit of self confidence we get from seeing pounds move is helpful!! Hope everyone is doing well!!
  18. How many carbs do you have each sitting? My food options are so limited! I'm such a picky eater .. which is what has gotten me to this size. I guess I'm strange but I hope that the next fill will not allow me to eat some of these bad things. I have changed to wheat tortilla shells ... small changes like that I've made but it seems that I eat the same things over and over and over.
  19. Well it's nice to know that I'm being challenged.. That will make me step it up a notch!! :-) I was actually down 31 until the weekend... i made some bad choices and paid for them! I'm terrible at counting calories uugghh! I need to work on that.
  20. Glad to hear that your first fill went well! So will it have been 3 weeks bw your fills? I had my first one on 6/5 and just realized they scheduled my second one for 5 weeks later. I called today and moved it up to 4 weeks (July 2nd) I can't tell any difference with the first one. I have days when I'm not REAL hungry.. and then days like today.. I feel like I'm starving!! We went to see my family this past weekend and no gym ='ed no loss. We're back in the gym now and sore!! We only missed 3 days but it feels like we are starting all over haha. I did up the tread mill to an hour last night for the first time. That might be why I'm sore but I NEED to see the scale going down more. I've got to get better at my eating habits too.. still having to many carbs I think. What's an average day of eating look like for y'all?
  21. Welcome to the thread Anna! Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I've been covered in work lately! I hope that you find this and all the thousands of other threads helpful!! Shawna- girl i know what you mean. It's hard to explain the fill experience. It didn't hurt at all but a weird feeling indeed. I hope that she was actually in the port and trying to find a whole... with all that jabbing on me. It was quick and simple though. Wonder if I could do it myself haha! Did they give you any helpful instructions? How was your nutrition follow up?
  22. Hey everyone!! WOW It's been a tough week so far at work and I'm realizing more and more how I got to this weight! Maybe I am a stress eater... coming out of denial! HA Shawna - I can't tell much difference with this fill. I had a meltdown yesterday and resorted to a cheese stick.. I didn't chew it well and it hurt! Other than that, I haven't had any problems. I have got to get back focused and realize this stress will go away and not to take it out on my body!!! SO Missy - Yes I'm still going to the gym. I missed 3 days due to having the gout and am still struggling with being able to walk 45 mins on the treadmill with a stiff toe. The doctor told me to stay away from the gym (never thought I would hear that!) until it was gone but when you stop seeing weight loss, it's hard to sit on the couch! I'm making up my mind today to get back in the game! Start back counting protein, water intake, calories etc. Although I've only been off the band wagon a couple of days, it's discouraging and I WILL WIN this fight!!! OK I'm off of my soap box haha Glad to hear that everyone is coming right along and feeling better!! Diane - I agree with the desire to swim. I never remember hearing them say not to but it was about 5 weeks when I started swimming. I hadn't been in YEARS and forgot how much I love it!!
  23. I'm the only one in my family (of 5) that has never had gout... UNTIL NOW!! Oh my it's painful! My family recommends going in for a shot. I'm headed to the doctor as soon as I can get dressed.. which seems to take a while when it hurts this bad to walk... heck... sitting still hurts!!
  24. I've always heard that you can do hundreds of exercises with those. This one sounds like the best! Burn them calories!! :-)
