  1. i think alot of husbands have issues with heavy wives losing weight. my husband is a very smart man in the fact that he never said a word or made any remarks with every pound that i gained and conversely he hasnt said a word about my weight loss. although i will say that he is a silent passive agressive sabotager (meaning he'll bring home in-n-out burgers or my favorite from cold stone creamery). if its his night to plan dinner it is always mexican food or pizza or one of the many things that i shouldnt be eating to promote weight loss. keep me posted on your progess as i will you with mine. have a great week!

  2. over doing it is no fun. i had an encounter where i was so tight that i coul not even swallow my own saliva, it was the most uncomfortable experience ever. not painful but a pain in the ass. im hoping my fill this monday ill get where i want to be. i want to lose another 50 lbs by the end of the year and just be done witht the weight loss already and move on to the maintance phase. good luck o us both and 45 lbs in 3 months is awesome. pat yourself on the back for a great job done so far!

The pedometer is dead on accurate. I have tested it. I was skeptial when it told me the it was 152 steps from my office to the ladies room, so one day I counted the steps as I walked there an it was spot on!

I LOVE MY BB. I wear it all the time, except in the shower. Tank tops or turtle necks, I wear it. I was in a weddig last October (yes i took it off for the wedding) with a sleeves dress and had the tan lines to prove it. they were so prominant that I contemplated going getting a spray tan on my arm to evn it out for the wedding. Some people look and some people ask what it is and either way is fine with me. And now that I got my hot pink case and my zebra case I cant wait for the weather to improve this weekend so I can show it off. Weight loss is simple math, calories burned vs. calories consumed and the consumed part I could always track but the BB tells me if I'm working hard enough to have a large enough deficit to yield my weight loss goals.
  6. Glammaw that is exactly how I feel, like I am on another diet. The good thing for me is that I'm not gaining, just bouning around the same 3 or 4 pounds. I feel like I need to join weight watchers or something.
  7. Had my fill...still not where I want to be. Am I not remembering correclty? When I had proper restriction before, I ate because I had to, because it was time to eat. Not out of hunger. Like you Glammaw I'm looking, hoping, praying for that feeling again and I still don't have it. Thoes of you who have proper restrction and that have reach their sweet spot, tell me what it feels like for you so I can make sure that what I'm seeking is obtainable and realistic. I am getting so frustrated!

Hi Juliansmom...you have to seperate the "frame" from th device it self. If you hold the device facing you, bracing the outter frame with your index fingers and press on the center of the device with you thumbs, but not applying any pressure to the back it should pop (away from you ) right out.
  9. its so funny how we go through similar states at the same time. you all know i had revision surger in sept 09, and at that time i was 185, i havent been able to find proper restriction since the revision, every visit my doc will put in just the littlest bit (fearful im sure of the problems i had in the past) so my last vist 3 weeks ago i guess she was sick of me whinning about not being tight enough and she gave me 1cc which is way more than she usually gives in a visit, but the problem is i had gotten into such bad eating habits (not food choices but the size of bites and not chewing enough, not staying on liquids for 24 hours after a fill) that i did what i have been doing since september which is eating the evening after my fills. the problem was this time i think she had the fluid amount right so when i ate the smallest amount of mahi mahi that night:eek:....it was over!!!!! instant pbing, horrible chest parin, i could not lay down i couldnt sit up. i found myself in her office the next day begging for her to take it ALL out. she unfilled me slighlty but the damage was done. my esophagus was swollen i couldnt even swallow my own spit and if i did that too came back up. i went back later that same day for more to be taken out (thank god for insurance). so now i still dont have proper restriction, my weight varies from 188 to 190 on any given day. i have another appotintment on monday so im hoping she will put back some of what she took out and this time i vow to be a better patient. im down 90ish pounds and i dont want to settle for being part of the way to my goal. i think i am at a point were my restrcition isnt enough to enable weight loss, i work out and my diet is not 100% on point but it is pretty darn good. i have been able to maintain this same weight with a consistant diet and exercise but i REALLY need restriction because i just frankly eat way to much. my calories are to high for significant weight loss due to the amount that i eat not what i eat. i am still confident and hopeful that my goals will be reached. i'm shooting for my 2 bandiversay to be at goal. goodluck to everyone, including me!
  10. Try not to be discouraged, the LAP-BAND? is a slow process and for some people (me included) it takes a while to get the the ever so elusive sweet spot. just remember that the changes that you are making (working out, and better food choices) are the life style commitments we have to make to get the weight off and to maintain weight loss. for me the first 3 months was very slow i only lost 12 pounds but i kept at it, because any loss is better than a gain. if you are not at your sweet spot just be diligent about your diet and your exercise and it will all balance out in the end. whatever you do dont give up just stick to it!!! i had revsion surgery in september and am still struggling to get back were i was before my band slipped. i have only lost 10 pounds since january, but it's 10 lbs closer to my goal. be strong and keep hitting the gym, maybe add another day or pick up the duration or intensity of your workouts. keep me posted on your progress.

  12. Hey everyone, I just wanted to stop and check in and say hello. I havent been doing great lately. I mean after my nephews murder everyhting got put on the back burner, especially working out. I had gone up to about 194 (a 5pound weight gain) in the month following his death and I just wasnt really putting in alot of effort. Thank goodness I am back on track and the scale is headed in a downward spiral again. I'm at 187 as of this morning and I am just so ready to hit the 100lbs lost mark and then get the final 30lbs off. Novemebr is coming up again really soon and I really would like to reach my goal before then. That will be the 2 year mark for us and I am just ready to be done with weight loss and move on to the maintance phase of this whole thing. I hope that everyone is doing well, much love to everyone!

    LapBand Food Stages Lists Suggestions

Every doctor is different. I was on chicken broth, isoprue and water for 48 hours only. I then progressed to protein shakes (all kinds), skim milk and most things that were the consistnacy that you could easily get through a straw (just for consistancy sake, of course no straws allowed). I was on soups by day 7, thinned with either chiken broth or milk. I wouldnt go for an egg at 3 days post op, but if your'e starving your'e going to need to add more protein to your diet to keep you satisfied longer. Good luck!

    Easter Challenge Anyone?

I was beginning to think my scal e was broken....but it finally moved. Down 2lbs:lol:
  15. good luck on your surgery> keep me posted on your progress!

  16. I alos had a hernia that I no idea I had prior to having the band put in and during that procedure my surgeon reparied that hernia, BUT come to find out along with the reflux and the slippage i had ANOTHER hernia...girl i was a mess! but the killer was i really thought that i was fine. we just really have to be careful and really listen to our bodies and be your own advocate. unaddressed reflux and PBing (which is wat we are doing not vomiting) can cause irreversable damage to our esophagus. good luck!
  17. Redbone, you sound like you are singing an old song that I sang once before and the name of that tune was "Not only are you to tight but your band has slipped and you need a revision surgery" Now I am not saying that any of that is applicable to you but I had an experience much like yours with the reflux (with no acid taste at all), and being able to expell food very easily if it felt stuck and up sometimes by just bending over the toilet, sink, whatever. I'm glad to hear that you have an appointment, you may want to ask to have a swallow test done so they can check for sure that there has been no slippage. and sometimes the reflux is related to a hernia. keep us posted, and good luck to you, my fingers are crossed in yor favor that the worst case senario is that you're just to tight.
  18. Yep 191 (actually 192 this morning) and a size 12. I am 5' 7". Most of my pants are 14's and to big I have 2 pairs os jenas that are 12's, one from old navy (sweetheart cut) and a pari of levis. They both fit very well, no muffin top and i can actually slide them right on. :smile2:

    Easter Challenge Anyone?

I'd love to join in on this challenge. It's always good for motivation. With Easter a mere month away I am sorta of on the late train here but count me in. My goal is 7 pounds. I am currently at 192 (per my doc and home scale...had an appointment yesterday) I would love to be at 185 by Easter.
  21. Hey Jewels...I had to have a second surgery in September, I was having alot of acid reflux and food was getting stuck often and come to find out my I had ANOTHER hernia AND my band had slipped. So I had my hernia repaired and my and corrected. A major set back, because since my surgeon repaired ahernis that was right beneath the band she literally took months before she would give me a fill. I had an appointment today and she barley added 1cc, so I am hoping that this gets me to where I need to be so that I can get back on track with losing the remainder of my weight.
  22. 20? 20 times 2 would be more accurate...Thank you though. It does feel good to have hard work pay off
  23. HEY LADIES!!!! I'm still here. Personally things have been rough, but somehow I make we make it through...one day at a time. My band has probably been my saving grace (weight wise) I am quite sure with out, emotionally eating would have taken control and I would be in a heap of a mess. but as it stands I am doing ok. Still looking for the sweet spot since my revision surgery, the good thing is that since the revision and with all the family drama my weight has only varied 2-4pounds depending on the day and the TOM. I am still working out and trying to do the best I can. I am trying to get these lat 30lbs off by the end of July (i like to set my goal realistic and attainable) so wish me luck. I am going to take it 10 pounds at a time and get this done!!!!! Big Kisses to everyone for all the love and support. It is much appreciated. BTW I posted some pics on my profile. the befores are scarry but the afters...well I like them. TTFN!
