  1. You have had an awesome loss since having the surgery though. I am getting a bit discouraged, because I haven't seen more than a 20 pound loss. I have seen inches drop, but I haven't measured myself to compare. I just want to see the pounds drop off the scale. I am trying to stay encouraged and know that everything happens in time. But what has been your workout routine?
  2. Honestly, it has been a struggle, but we will get through this. We have to stay encouraged, and know that God will make a way for us. As for you getting up to 6ccs in a second fill, you should really be careful with that, because you don't know how your body will respond. You don't want to give you body too much and you can't swallow as a result. Trust that your doctor knows what he is doing. Everyone's body and tolarants is different. I am happy that fills are not done the same way for everyone, because you could hurt yourself that way. We will get there girl. We have to believe that.
  3. I had my surgery in on 11/6, but I didn't have my first fill until 12/7. There were some problems with the holiday, and my doctor being out. They were initially going to give me my first fill on 12/24, but I say "Oh hell naw!!" I was not going to be eating soup for Christmas. LOL! So we opted for 1/7. It was during that session that I discovered that I already had 2 ccs in me. They added another 1.5cc and on my next visit they gave me just 1cc. I don't think my body will allow me to take too many cc at one time. I was told that 6cc and over is where you can find the sweet spot. I have an appointment on 2/11, so I am hoping that I can tolerate 1.5 or 2cc's. I need to get out of the 280s. Its like my weight has been swinging back and forth, but I haven't left 280's. Its so frustrating.
  4. I pray that I am able to. I am working out regularly and bring lunch into work. I just want to see better results on the scale. Its funny, I did well while only eating soup, but I was hungry. I don't want to starve myself just to loose the weight. I had to remind myself, that the LapBand surgery has a slower weight loss process, but I just really want to see some result. I am praying for patience
  5. WEll I had a fill last week, so now I am at 4.5cc. I am hoping that 6cc will be my sweet spot, because I feel like I am stuck. I am feeling good. I have more energy, but a bit discouraged that I haven't had a big weight loss. I would love to loose 40 pounds (in all) by April. Do you think I am being unrealistic?
  6. It sure does. Keep up the good work. I gained around the holidays too, but I got it off and you will. I can gain and loose 5 pounds like that (snap), so your body will know what to do with you in the gym. No worries.
  7. Well turns out, I already had 2cc in my band. Who knew. I got an additional 1 1/2cc on 1/7/08, and I am looking forward to my next fill on the 21st. I had gained some weight since being filled, but it appears that I have lost that weight, plus 1 pound  Prayfully, I will loose another few pounds by the time I meet with the doctor. I also started my dance classes last Saturday. So once per week I will be dancing, along with other exercise and weight training 2/3 times per week. It feels good to weigh 284.5. I just want to completely be out of the 280s. Maybe that will be my three month gift to myself. I have also been off fried foods and sugar. I feel pretty good so far.

  9. Congrats! That is awesome. Keep up the good work!!!
  10. I remember asking my nurse 3 weeks after surgery if I could participate in "adult activities?" He looked at me sidways as asked me "what are you referring to, cause there are a lot of things adults do." He then went on to say, "for the first month, let him do all the work, and you just lay back and enjoy." Now, I can't say that the statement was too appropriate coming from my nurse, but that was all I needed to hear. LOL! That is just what I did. I have instructions, and enjoyed. So do what works for you. I say take my nurses advice.
  11. Hey folks! I had my fill last Wednesday, and discovered that I had 2cc in me already. They placed another 1 1/2cc so, I guess I am going strong. I think that I feel the restrictions moreso in the morning, but I realizes that my mind is trying to catch up with the fact that we are restricted. I am also been working hard to exercise, because I realize that this fat will hold on as long as it can if I am not working out. I am imagining that depending upon how much I loose between now and my appointment next week, will determine how many cc they place in my stomach. I although I had my surgery nearly 2 months ago, I still feel some disappointment that I haven't had much more of a weight loss. My desire is for the weight to leave never to come back, so I know I have to learn how to eat properly and consistantly for that to happen. We all have to stay encouraged and continue to support one another through this journey. We will get there!!!
  12. Finally! Today I have my first fill. :grouphug: I have just been so frustrated with this whole appointment scheduling. I was suppose to have my appointment for 12/24, but I was not going to be eating only soup or whatever would be excluded from my diet, so I had to reschedule the appointment. It been two months, and the weight has been going back and forth. I guess I have to be grateful for being able to get into jeans that I haven't been able to fit for a long time. So for that I am grateful. I also took a two-week break from exercising, so I really can't complain for the reason that I haven't lost the weight. Today is Wednesday, and I have already worked out two days, and I finally included weighs into my program. I am feeling really good about that. I just want to be sucessful in my weight loss. I don't want to feel like I am missing out, by not eating foods that I don't need. I don't want to seek foods for comfort, I want to be better than that. I know that God will bring me through that. I am kinda nervous about this fill process, but I am ready for the leaves to be cleared on my path to weight loss and better health. Yayyyy

  14. I would really like to be committed to working out consistantly, eating right and loosing at least 70. I haven't lost much, and its been a bit discouraging. I just want to be successful with this process. I am praying that God will help me. In addition, I want to take my social work licensing exam, and then look at come certificates or possibly another masters.
  15. Hello people! I haven't chatted with the group in sometime, and I am regreting that, because I see that it has not helped me through this process. I was banded some time ago, but due to scheduling conflict I haven't had my first fill, well until later today. I started off well, during the holidays I stopped exercising and the freedom to eat sweets was very tempting. So me and the scale are not friends right now. However, I have started back working out (two days in so far), and the plan is to work out 4 days a week. I really feel bad, because having the surgery is a huge sacrifice and I was not doing my job. On a brighter note, people are still seeing the inches come off, so I guess things could be worse.
  16. Okay people, I didn't go to the gym, because I was not feeling like going back out into the rain. I did my walk-away the pounds dvd. I did the 2 mile walk. I was so proud of myself. I have never completed the 2 mile (not because I couldn't, I was just so lazy), and I am so happy! I know you guys would understand. I feel so accompolished, and I got a better workout than I would have had just sitting on the bike. Yayyyy!!!! Well I have completed 3 days of working out so far this week. I am so proud of myself. Keep of the good work people
  17. Lol! I think I am with you on that. I forgot all about the stretch marks. We should try that vitiman E, and see what it does. I had no children and there no reason for my belly to have gotten this way, but we are on the way to a slimmer us. We will loose the weight and be hot in out bathing suits. We can just have low cut/ busty swim wear.
  18. See I would be in agreement, if I had been on some weights last night, but I didn't. LOL! I was on the bike, but I was at level three (don't know). My girlfriend told me not to get on the scale anymore this week. I will try that. I don't know if it will work, but I will try. You are right about the fluids, and they make me so full. I will try drinking more water at night. So tell me how did it feel to get your first fill? I am kinda nervous about that. You have to eat Soup for the first day (after the fill) right?
  19. I was doing so good for the first 3wks since having my surgery, but now I am starting to feel the struggle. My weight has been going up and down. I know that I haven't been working out as much as much as I should, but I am doing better about my reading. I worked out last night, and got on the scale this morning and was up 2lbs. I am so discouraged. I will at the gym tonight, but I want to get out of the 280's by Christmas.
  20. I was doing so good for the first 3wks since having my surgery, but now I am starting to feel the struggle. My weight has been going up and down. :blushing: I know that I haven't been working out as much as much as I should, but I am doing better about my reading. I worked out last night, and got on the scale this morning and was up 2lbs. I am so discouraged. I will at the gym tonight, but I want to get out of the 280's by Christmas.
  21. I have been struggling. Well I shouldn't use the word struggle if I am trying to look at this from a positive prospective, but the weight is not moving. I guess I shouldn't look at the scale everyday, but its so hard and soooo very tempting. I worked out last night, so I expected to see some movement on the scale, especially since my muscles were responding to the work out last night. I got on the scale, and saw 2lb increase. I was so suprised, cause I didn't even eat a lot. I have been seeing that a lot lately. One day I'm up 2lbs, the next, I'm down 3lb. I am not liking this at all.
  22. Yes girl! Whatever you can do to get it in, needs to happen. I am not really seeing this scale move like I want, so I will be at the gym again. I want to be in the 270's by Christmas. I am trying to have small expectations instead of the big ones. Cause this fat is fighting to stay. But, I refuse. I got this surgery for a reason, and I will put in the work to make it happen.
  23. Sounds like things are going well for you. Stay encouraged. I also live in Maryland, so maybe we can continue to support one another. I had my surgery on 11/6/08, and I was a work outer. I had some difficulties getting back into my routine, but its seems as though I am getting this thing going. I felt really good after my workout. My muscles were happy to be working again. I plan to start swimming again (in Jan), I know my coaches will be happy to see me. A new boyfriend that also works out, and a new outlook on life is a great combo. Keep up the good work :tt2:
  24. I really understand where people are coming from. The weight was really coming off when I was on the Soups, but now that I'm eating, I am not seeing the same results. I haven't been filled yet, due to the holiday it was decided that I wait until after the New Year. I know I will have to work hard to make sure that I don't gain any weight. I am getting hungry a lot faster than I would want to, I can't eat as I use to (and that's with no fill). I know things will get better for me. I am just going to workout and pray. That is all I can do. Everyone stay encouraged
  25. I was also banded 11/6/08, and I am starting to have the same feeling of being stuck. I can't say that I've been working out as I should. I find that when I work out, the weight leaves, but the day I miss, it comes right back. My fat is fighting against leaving this body. LOL! I am going to have to get back on my routine. Not working out for a month as been really hard. I am trying to get back into my routine. I just got approval to eat solids, so that makes me happy and scared all at the same time. I will be on the eliptical tonight :tt1:
