I Think I Am Too Tight

It also helps to drink something hot to loosen up your band. It will be times that your band is much tighter than normal. In the morning I can hardly drink water. I have to take tiny sips. I drink my protein. How ever long it takes is fine by me, as long as I get it in. Now if you can't eat at all its not good. Taking small bites and slowing down your eating process is all apart of your new eating journey. I wish I'd understood that 6 months ago. I thought something was wrong with the band. Its me that to better learn the devise inside of me. If its too uncomfortable call your doctor.

    Lapband Or Sleeve

There have been times that I have considered the sleeve, but decided to really give my band a chance. I have a friend that had the band and she's done great. You don't really have to work the sleeve, the way you work the band. The sleeve works for you. My friend doesn't work out. I am ok with my band now though. I think you should think more about the options for your daughter. How old is she?
  3. Hey people!!! There hasn't been much conversation going in a long time. I am rededicating myself. I haven't had the best experiences with the band, and most of it is because of the food choices. I have had some issues iwth the band, but I realized that there were things going on that I didn't know much about, because I wasn't staying connected. I am back on track now. How has everyone been doing?
  4. Well good for you. This process isn't an easy one, so no one should ever regret the surgery. But I have had my issues with the decisions that I have made since being banded. I am in a much better place now though.

    Hello!

I just want to say congrats on the weight loss and new baby on the way. I haven't been pregnant, but I think you will be fine. I know its normal to worry, but enjoy your pregnancy. Of course be mindful of your eating, but you need to be sure to give the baby all that's needed. You will be back to your old self soon.

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

Sorry about the beginning of that post. I was typing from my phone. I am not the best with the touch screen. I was trying to encourage the both of you guys, Lannah and Shelley. Its all about the small things. I am trying to get back on track, so we are all in the same situation. We can do it though.
  7. So has everyone been keeping up with their protein intake? I fell way off. I'm getting back on track now.

    Disappointed And Depressed

Oh no doubt. I want get the encouragement and pass it on to others. Since getting tighten again, I've had to discover what I can and can not eat and the best time of day to eat it. I'm super tight in the morning. I can barely drink water. I make my protein shake with coconut milk and added some spinach, just for the purpose of getting in the veggies. I can't taste the spinach at all. I went to Zumba class this morning. So I'm on my way :-)

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

You can give it up again. We have to believe that there is nothing bigger than our deseire to change. I forgive myself for not giving my all, and I move on. We have all fallen short. I have my fitness pal as well. I have a water app to stay on top of my water. I got a fill about 3wks ago. I've lost about 6 pounds since I had my fill. I'm really tight, so I the morning I'm not really able to eat. I can barely drink. I have my protein shake. I added spinach to get my veggies in. I plan to juice some things this week. I'm trying to stay the course.

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

So what are you going to do to get yourself back on track? How can we better support you. I feel that you have to make time for yourself and your health. Even if you started with going to the gym on the weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). You also have to keep the carbs low to barely at all. I follow the south beach plan. I mix it up a lot, but it works for me. I've learning how to eat good healthy foods. I've been banded for 4 yrs. I've had a lot if slip ups. I thank God that I haven't gotten back up to 305. I got to 188 over the summer after the biggest loss of my life. I'm recommitted now. I'm 171 and getting smaller and smaller :-) Its a slow process, but you can do it.

    New notorious novembers weightloss spreadsheet

Hey people! I was possibly apart of this group years ago. I didn't stay the course and that's probably why I have had so many issues with my band. I'm getting back on track and I would love your support and encouragement. Looking forward to hearing from you banders :-)

    Email Buddy Needed From Anywhere!!

Hey people. I was banded 4yrs ago. I have had a lot of issues with my band. I've learned a lot a long the way. Support is very important. Honestly, I isolated myself. I did not have the best support system in medical team, and I allowed that to deter me from using the band the way it was intended. For you newbies, you really shouldn't have the feeling of vomiting. Its too early. Your body is still healing and you aren't really able to explore foods. I'm here for any one that wants to talk. I've recommitted myself to this process. I'm eating right. I'm exercising and listening to my body and band.

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

I was banded 4 years ago myself. I have had highs and lows with the surgery. I started at 305. I've managed to stay away from the 300s, but I have only lost 50. I had begun getting myself back on track, but when my mom was diagnosed with cancer, my life started going down hill. She died in June. It took me a minute to get refocused, but I'm now finding my rhythm. I am working out regularly and trying to keep my calories under 1500. I have been tracking nearly everything I eat, but I have my moments with that. I've lost nearly 12 pounds since I started this get back on track program. I found a new surgeon and medical team. I have been slowly getting my fills. I pray that things get better for me. I had this surgery for a reason. Often I've lost sight of the purpose of the sleeve verse having some other gastic surgery. I am training myself.

    Disappointed And Depressed

Well said Butterfly. I ideal of becoming bandster is very different from actually being banded. The band surgery takes you on a journey that you would never go on with any other WLS. Its a day by day process, and support helps. Honestly, I haven't had a lot of supportn during my journey, and honestly its not good. However,I decided to get support for the other area of my life that had a major effect on how I saw food. Its not alway easy to face your struggles, but when you, you will become the best you that you could ever be. Stay encouraged

  17. Wow! Thanks for sharing your story. I'm so sorry that you are going though that. I know that everyting will work out. I sometimes wonder do I have slippage. They said that I didn't, but if I put anymore Fluid in my stomach I will pop and I'm bearly half way full. Anyways, God is good.
  18. I was told 70 to 80. Sugar free everything, plenty of water
  19. My issue was so lad, I couldn't even drink Water. I was so scared. I wish I could have drank water to anything, but nothing stayed down. I even choked from sucking on a peppermint. I ended up going to the ER. They removed all my Fluid :-( I slowly began putting the fluids back in, but gained about 15 pounds in the process. I have way filled, body can't take anymore (I'm questioning why that is), but I've lost 10 of the pounds and still working hard to bring sexy back. Prior to the stomach lock up, I use to regurgiate a lot. Now I stop before I get there. I'm learning now to better relax my stomach. I also try not to mess with carbs too much, cause my stomach can't take it. Its a day by day challenge. I still plan to get a second opinion, cause I still don't understand why I haven't lost a lot of weight.

    Disappointed And Depressed

I'm glad that this subject has come up. I had my surgery in 2008, and I have struggled. I've worked out hard since having the surgery, but still haven't found my way. I lost close to 65, but I gained back 20. I'm back on track. Trying to stay positive, and focus on healthy and not just the weight loss. I've had a lot of issues with my band in May. It locked up to the point that I couldn't even drink water. I feel that if I sometimes wait to long to eat, I start to really struggle to get te food in. I think I'm having band issues, but my doctor does not seem to agree. I plan to look for a new doctor in Jan. I feel that I should have had a better weight loss than I've had.
  21. Sounds like you are on your game. Congrats on getting into the 16s. I can't wait. I have been doing good thus far, and I was able to get into some skinny jeans (size 18, by the way)! I was able to put them on, but not able to wear them out, because they were still cutting on the tummy. I am working them today. I am so happy  I got my protein, and I am going to be more committed to ensuring that I always get my protein in. Stay encouraged people. Thanks again for everyone that help me through my moment.
  22. I do more than 60g per day, but that's not all protein. However, I drunk more protein today, & I could see that I really wasn't that hungry. I was very happy about that. I feel good about my eating today. I pray that I can continue to do better w/ my eating. Now, I would like to hear more about eating protein before my meals. So please share more about this, well if it would be more that just drinking the protein. How much should I drink? Like doz?
  23. Hey Marylander!!! I a. open to participating in a support group. However, I had my surgery at Washington Hospital. If there is no problem w/ me attending, then please keep me posted. As you said this is a journey, & I will get through this.
  24. I am starting to read the same thing. The one thing I am not doing. Increase my protein. Wow, well that is what I need to do, so that is just what I will do. I can't let this thing beat me. I had this surgery to live a better life. I need to continue to learn better measures to beat this thing. i can do this. I am so greatful to everyone that took the time to respond to this message. Thank you so much. Prayerfully, I will have some great news in the weeks to come.
  25. Wow! That's awesome! Thank you so much fr sharing your story. I see that I really need to increase my protein by drinking more shakes. Honestlym tha really shouldn't be a big deal for me, b/c I truly enjoy my shakes in the morning. I will do more to increase my intake. Thank you
