I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

I agree. I am so hard on myself. I have given up on myself. I've allowed the things that make me sad, allow me to eat. Wr can't eat our troubles away. I love carbs, but they don't love me. I wonder if the band was the best choice, but I can't take back the time. I'm only 6.5ccs in my 10cc band. I will work on slowly getting tighter, because I'm not happy with the amount of food I can eat. I'm not giving up on myself.

    MD Meeting: Where & When?

I no longer live in Maryland. I didn't have a support group while there. What hospital at you going to have your surgery?

Lapband Just Did Not Work For Me

The truth hurts, but we all need to hear it. I know my reality isn't always what I want to hear, but the truth is the light. Speak your mind, but be mindful that anyone that went through thus surgery wants the weight loss, but they lack the support needed to get and keep the weight off. We all need help.

    the 5 day pouch test

Its kinda hard to explain. You should goggle it. Its all about learning to tighten by going back to the basics with your eating.

Lapband Failer Wanting To Start Again

Everyone is right. There's so much you can do. So don't worry about the treadmill, but know that you will have to get out to get the weight off. Everyone here enjoys food, exercise gives you the balance to loose weight. When I'm not working out, I'm not loosing. When I'm not eating right, the weight is still there. I have to do them both together. You have to find the exercise that works for you. Get on a plan. An eating plan. Atkins, Southbeach. Something that had a healthy eating focus. Work with your doctors to look at the foods and determine which don't make you anxious. Walk, swim find something you enjoy, but you have to move. Even if its a lot of restricted movement.

    the 5 day pouch test

I lost another 2 pounds. I wish I lost 9 that others did. I needed to let my band breathe. I'm trying to monitor my carb intake, so this was a great way to ensure that the carbs were limited. I feel that this program gets you back on track, eating wise. I'm still on the journey, but its not as bad as before. I have to remember that the band is a eating tool, but I still have to take myself to the gym and I have say no to breads and slider foods. I have to remind myself that I'm not hungry, when I'm bored, sad or frustrated. Checking my feelings is not an easy thing, but its a real thing that I can do.

    the 5 day pouch test

So this is Day 3 of the pouch test!!!!! I have lost 3 pounds so far. I am eating. Did I say, eating. Yes, my eggs omelet and loving it. I am eating it slower than normal because of the tightness that's taking place. So so far so good. One lady on YouTube lost 9 pounds on the test. I pray to loose that or more. I am hitting the gym today, since I have more energy. I will keep you guys posted.

    the 5 day pouch test

I decided, because I was stuck. I don't want to keep getting fills and getting sick. I did some research and talk to a few people. I want to naturally close my pouch up some. I need to learn why this device works for me, and what I can better do to work it. I realize that I need more liquid days, as you say. Its a bonus to loose weight, and boy do I need that, but I don't want to just loose I want to be successful. I have been banded for 4 yrs in Nov. I have had the hardest time these last 2. I was doing so good. It was a super slow process for me, but I was doing well. I got too tight. I was in the hospital, becaues I was chocking off my own spit. I was so thirsty. It was the worse feeling ever. The crazy oncall surgeon, who knew nothing about the band other than find out how to take the Fluid out. Decided to take all of it out. I should have known that would be a problem, but I was so excited about drinking and eating. And oh wow! I could eat thingst hat I hadn't in years. So up the scale I went. When I finally saw my surgeon, the testing began. I was so discouraged. So from there its been issue after issue. My mom was diagnosed with cancer and she died almost 6 months ago. I gained back nearly 30 pounds. I am nearly15 pounds from where I was when I started having all the problems. So I am using that as my guide. I hope to get down 10 pounds by Dec 30th and go from there.

    the 5 day pouch test

Things are going great. So Day 2 us almost over. I had a few emotional moments in which I almost grabbed a cracker and considered making some popcorn, but I stayed the course. I rode my stationary bike for 45mins in the morning. I'm so glad I got that out the way, cause I had no energy for working out. Right now its 11:40p. I'm hungry, but I don't like to eat this late. So I will get through it. I'm looking forward to food tomorrow. I've been watch YouTube videos about the diet. Most are more than a year old. I just wanted some ideas, and hear more about thr results. I'm praying that my band really gets tigher.

    Not losing!

Exercise is the key. Some don't, but unless you have a super busy job there are no guarantees that the weight will come off as desired. If we are banded, but keep the same lifestyles the weight loss will not happen. I have been banded for 4yrs. My weight has been up and down. I haven't always been consistent. I've had a lot if things happen in the last 2yrs to get me off track. I realized that i to start from scratch. I got a new medical team. I'm counting calories and developing consistency with my workouts. I'm still not on top of my game, but I'm no longer at the bottom.

    Ugh so discouraged

You aren't a failure. I've been at a standstill a long time. Honestly, if they were to take fluid out you would gain. You would be hungrier and eat more. You discussed your calorie intake, but how much of that is protein? What kind of exercise do you do other than walking? Its something going on, but you can get through this.

I Feel I want this thing out of me...

I was banded in 2008. I lost nearly 50 pounds. Then I stopped. I've kept most of the weight off, but haven't lost anything major. I have been so frustrated with my band, but also with myself. I exercise and the weight is still about the same. I disliked the teamv of doctors i was working with. I found a new doctor, and am now considering the sleeve. But before I go there. I'm going to fight with this band for another 6 months to one year. I didn't have support throughout my band journey until now. I realized that there was so many things I didn't know. I had to learn creativity. I had to be real honest with myself about what I had done to cause me to remain where I am. I had to go harder and do better. You should be reexamined to see how the band is doing. You should consider the 5 day pouch test to see where you are with you eating. You can get through this. I can support you. I know just what you are dealing with and how long you've been struggling. I'm here if you want the support.

Lapband Just Did Not Work For Me

I too have had a lot of struggles with my band. I'm struggling with the same weight for the last month ir so. I have had some weight loss, but lately I haven't. Honestly, I want to be thin bad, but I wonder how bad. When I'm emotional, I struggle with making the right food choices. I work out. I have been trying to find more intense work outs, because I need to burn more than I eat as suggested. I've got to do better. I enjoyed reading everyones response. I'm just trying to stay connected to get back on track and stay there.

Is This It Or Could I Be Too Tight

I am so sorry to hear about that. I know ut will get better. Glad you are getting some removed. I know I just couldn't take it anymore. The bad part was that I wasn't even loosing. I had begun to gain :-(

    Lapband Or Sleeve

I understand. But you also want something that she would loose the most. You will make the best decision I'm sure. I am not sure what I would do. But make sure that whatever you choose, that she's involved in a support group.

Is This It Or Could I Be Too Tight

I'm doing really good. I'm kinda nervous about messing with starches. I went out with a friend and decided to taste some bread. Before I let too much time pass, I spit out the bread. I really don't know what that moment was about, but I got over it fast. I am not going to allow the fluid to come out just to do something foolish.

Thanks Sue. You are right. I'm going to make some major changes with my eating. I have to get my protein in in ways besides just the powder. So sad that I didn't realized that. My man has been saying the same thing.
