  1. I know that my daughter had by-pass 7 years ago and has done amazing with it. She lost her weight very quickly and has kept it off. Now she was only 19 when she had it done but it is a life changing alteration!! I nursed her back to help and went through every step of it with her. I chose not to have it done because I did not think I would be able to handle it. It just depends on you!! I had my Lapband done Nov 19 and have lost 44 pounds. Now some of that was pre-op weight loss but I have lost weight since my surgery. I got my first fill yesterday so I am hoping I will begin to loose more weight!! Good luck at whatever you decide!!

  2. Hey Sheri! I am from Conyers Ga which is not far from you at all! What hospital are you having your surgery at? I had mine at Newton Medical Center in Covington Ga on 11/19/08. I have not been able to go to my meetings at all, not because of distance but just works and kids and just being tired at the end of the day:frown::):frown: I do my support on this sight and I love it!!

  3. I think that is great that with your problems you continued to have your port replaced! I hope naturally that I do not have problems but if i do i hope that I just don't give up and have them remove everything! Congrats to you and your weight loss, Hopefully 6 years from now I will feel happy with myself and my self esteem will improve!

  4. Some people seem to breeze right through the recovery process. Not me, I was banded Nov 19 and finally I think I am feeling 85% normal. I am still sore at my port sight and still don't feel comfortable lifting things! I do not want to mess anything up! I was not really hungry though, but I had been on a 3 week pre-op liquid diet so I think that helped shrink my stomach! Just take your medicine and walk as much as possible and take it easy! Let people help you if you can!!

  5. I am 10 days post op & still on cleasr liquid diet. In 4 days I can move to full liquid diet! Now my question is this I have read people on hear talk about oatmeal cream if wheat & cream Soups while they are on full liquid diet. Are these things considered full liquid?? What is the difference between mushies and full liquid then? And then you have solids which is regular food that you just really chew, right?? I am a little confused where does mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes come in? Are they liquid, mushie or solid??? Help please!

  6. I too had a little diarehhea problem on my 4th day after surgery. It went away on its own though. I have read here you can take ammodium ad if you like. You are probably tired due to not eating anything. I had to do this 2 weeks prior surgery and now 2 weeks after surgery, so I know how you are feeling. I don't have the energy to walk walk walk. i do get up and walk I shower and I lay in bed propped up on 4 pillows. I know this will get better I just look forward to the day i can eat something other than Jello, broth, water!!!
