  1. Hello, I'd like to be added to the spreadsheet...how do I get in? Also, could you add the average weight loss? Thanks!
  2. 1. Buy a sexy pair of high heels. 2. Cross my legs with ease. 3. Run a 5k (hope to do that by the end of this year)!
  3. I'm glad to hear I am not alone! Good grief...the gas has been CRAZY! It has gone from being an intense pain to just very loud gas. The good thing is that is rarely smells. It is just embarassing. I had to tell the hubby to get used to it...i got really tired of running out of the room. I also took a trip in which I had to fly. Good news: fit in the seat a lot better. Bad news: gas didn't go away for the 4 hour plane ride. ARGH!!

    Day Two and Miserable

I have to say, the pain and discomfort was MUCH more than I was expecting. I think I was just so excited to have my surgery, I didn't really think about the recovery. My surgery was scheduled for 11/21...got a call on 11/20 from the surgeon and had to reschedule for 11/24. I was so anxious and nervous about the procedure and going under anethesia that, again, I didn't consider how I'd feel after. I had very bad pain in my lower back that I believe was related to the gas. Had my husband and mom rubbing my back every minute possible. A heating pad also was very helpful. I went shopping today and was very sore afterwards...came home and went to bed at 3:00PM. It DOES get better, though, and each day I feel a little more back to normal. I had some cream of potato (minus the potato) today and a slim fast...it was delicious. I am also very motivated, as I've lost 25lbs since my last PCP visit one month ago tomorrow. Today was really the only day I felt remotely like having anything more than a sip of water...I'm glad I did! It helped. Well, good luck everyone!

    Crazy!

Okay, I am so psyched! This is my first week of my pre-op diet and I've lost 6.6lbs!! That is crazy and wonderful and everything in between! Seeing such amazing results this first week, which was a little tough, is all the motivation I need to stay focused. I had to be out of town all week for work and I didn't have much of a support system so the first few days of the liquid/1200 calorie diet was not as easy as I had hoped. I did great though and couldn't be happier with the results. One week from tomorrow I will be officially banded!! I can't wait to get this party started!

    Ah! I messed up!

I've heard so many different types of pre-op diets...not sure why there are so many different variations. Mine is 1200 calories per day. How bad did you cheat? I think the important thing is to get back on track right now! I certainly am not a doctor, but I would be willing to bet that one day won't prevent your surgery. This pre-op diet is tough, but we have to be more tough! Fast food has been my problem and tonight driving home I counted over 20 restaurants on my route home. Temptation is going to be everywhere. I hope you have an easier time tomorrow and stay strong!
  7. November 21st!!!! I can't wait! Best wishes to you!
  8. Hello! This is my very first post. I've been working to get insurance approval for gastric banding surgey since February '08. Had to do a six month physcian directed weight loss attempt and then appeal two denials. I got the call today from my doctor...INSURANCE APPROVED! Scheduled my pre-op appointment for November 17th; surgery November 21st. I am so absolutely ready for this day I can't stand it! I live near Cincinnati and will be having surgery with Cincinnati Weight Loss Center.
