    Help ? Flu

I haven't had a fill yet I'm going 2nd week of Nov for my initial fill. Thanks I will try your advice!!
  4. I was banded nov 24th. Have had no problems up until last night. I believe I have the flu. I have body aches and diarrhea and vomiting. I feel miserable and I am concerned because I having trouble keeping fluids down. A few sips of light gatorade and some ice chips . Now my head is pounding. I really don't think this is band related because of the symptoms. I just don't want to cause any damage because of the vomiting . Anyone out there experience this and what did you do. I'd appreciate any advice.... Thanks Bill:cry_smile:

    Tic tac

I had my banding November 24th. I'm feeling good but just have some heartburn here and there. My problem is ever since I've been banded I've been noticing "bad breath" not to mention my wife has noticed it too. Is anyone else having the same problem? I'm still the liquid stage so can I chew gum or take mints? Thanks Bill:embaressed_smile:
  6. Yay... we have the same bandday... sounds funny but it's cool at the same time. I'm actually looking at it as my second birthday because this is DEFINITELY a life changer.

I'm over the gas... honestly, I never really had any MAJOR pain (a little in my left shoulder, but that's about it). I am on all liquids, but I'm thinking about treating myself to a yogurt tomorrow (YAY!). I can't wait to chew again... I don't car if it's celery or carrots... I just want to eat something.

Do you find that your stomach is ALWAYS rumbling? I mean, I'm not "hungry" but I always know that my tummy is empty. It doesn't make me want to eat so much as I just want it to stop.

Well, best of luck to you. As of this morning, I'm down just over 12 pounds... in 6 days... un-freaking-believable! For the first time in a LONG time, I don't hate the scale!

I hope to get to be friends with many of you all here... this is a great journey and I'm glad to have good people to travel with!

    Hello from DFW

Just wanted to send my best wishes on your upcoming surgery Monday. Sounds like you are more than ready for this. I was just banded last Monday. The day after was my toughest day but definately tolerable. Two days after I was up and about and feeling good. You'll breeze right through it!! Take care and keep in touch. We are all rooting for you....Bill

    I'm finally banded...

Nice to meet you. We have the same bandday as I had mine put in Nov 24th as well. Mine was done at Miriam Hospital in RI. I've lost 14lbs so far. Finally got past most of the gas pains and shoulder pain. Right now I'm battling with some heartburn but feeling better each day. Are you on liquids only too? I got to admit I fill up quick but am missing "chewing" even though I don't feel hungry!!! Keep in touch.......Bill:thumbup:

    Headaches Anyone?

Thanks for the info. I've been trying to sip my liquids every hour but I've been getting full really fast. I've probably been a little reluctant to over do it because I don't want to "throw up" I'm sure that would be pretty painful at this stage of my post op. I will take your advice and try a little more fluids and see if that makes a difference. Thanks ......Bill
  11. I'm 2 days post op. The gas and shoulder pains are getting better. I'm taking the Lortab as directed. My problem is I've been having Headaches on and off since the surgery. The Lortab helps the stomach pain but doesn't touch the headaches. Anyone out there able to shed some light on this and a remedy?:grouphug: Thanks and Happy Thankgiving to all!! regards... Bill

    up and about

I'm having my band done Nov 24 in RI. Looking forward to it. Here's a ? for the banded men. How long after surgery before they got you up and walking around. How did you feel? Also, did anyone have to get a catheter? I'm told I have to have one for a day. Not too concerned when they put it in because I'll be asleep but taking it out well definately not my idea of fun. Any feedback guys??? Thanks Bill
  13. Hey thanks for the heads up Lisa. I will be checking that on my bill when I get it. Hopefully yours is all straightened out. Bill
  14. Hey Bill my name is Bill also, I'm from Massachusetts and I'm being banded Nov 24 as well!!! I'm 46 and will still be in the hospital on Nov 25 which is my Birthday. Guess we won't be celebrating with a Turkey dinner this year!! Best of luck to you and keep in touch. By the way I have BCSS Federal Ins too....... Regards Bill

    Slimfast Anyone???

The dietician doesn't suggest using it but I was curious because some of the websites I looked at and the books I bought said it was OK. So I was checking what other people in this forum suggested. I guess the best thing is to follow what instructions are given to me. When is your surgery? I'm going in November 24th .
