Ken S. replied to mistysj's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Pinned....if it's alright with you, please check back with me in a week about editing it. -
Hi Canary, That line is referring to the "About Me" section of your profile. You can write several paragraphs or a single line, it's the first thing that appears in the profile content area if it's entered. Thanks, Ken

How to display "My Surgeon"
Ken S. replied to Bufflehead's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
When you are trying to select your surgeon, what, exactly if you don't mind, are you doing? Step by step. Are you completely typing the surgeons name? Does your browser auto complete his name? Do you click on his name once our system delivers it as a suggestion? -
How to display "My Surgeon"
Ken S. replied to Bufflehead's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Are you actually using your mouse to select, and click on the Surgeon's name once it pops up after you've began typing it? -
Spacing and not able to make lists in my threads
Ken S. replied to piercedqt78's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Hi, Are you posting from a desktop or a mobile app? I'm posting from the desktop and I can create new lines. See? If you're using a mobile app, which one? iOS or Android? If you're using a browser, what browser are you using? Please include the browser version as well. Thanks! -
Hey Everyone! We have been hard at work on our new Mobile Apps, and we're finally ready to release our beta version to a few lucky members for testing! We're looking for about 20 testers for our new Android Mobile App. We are looking for members who are active on the site, and are able to use the app several times a day, to be sure it's being tested thoroughly. If you're interested in testing for us, please go ahead and respond to this topic. We'll select the beta testers based on criteria that we've determined internally. Happy Testing!
-
Okay Everyone! We've gotten the beta version up and ready for ya'll to start testing. You'll notice a new feedback forum on the home page, which you can use to download the application, and keep us updated as to how your testing is going. You can download the application here. If you have any questions about getting it installed, just let us know in that topic. If you're unable to access the page, you may have to log out and log back in. Thanks a million!!!!!!!

Getting to Social Groups in the App
Ken S. replied to Museum-Mama's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Hello, We're working on an in-house developed mobile application so we can do things just like this. It's on it's way and you'll definitely know as soon as it's available. Thanks! -
The last e-mail you received from us was on or around January 22nd - due to marking e-mail we sent as SPAM. This will prevent your ISP from receiving any more e-mail from us.

Hi all, I understand that you may be frustrated - but we've outlined how to revert to the old settings. We'll look into a "one-click" method to set your settings to the immediate notifications - but that will be a ways out. The "offline" method is not new functionality, it's be around for years. The thing is, our default notification settings were pretty aggressive. Notifying users about nearly everything that they may or may not want to know. This caused huge issues with members marking the e-mails as SPAM, which results in a very low deliverability rate for our service. In relation to the number of members signed up here (nearly 60 thousand), we have gotten very few complaints. We wish we could avoid causing an inconvenience - but this was the only way to comply with the ever so strict rules of the e-mail industry. We've reduced our spam complaints dramatically and increased our deliverability to members by a very large amount since this change. All in all - over the long run, the site wide change will benefit users, even the ones who like being notified of everything (since it can be enabled to do so, still) because we wont be put on e-mail blacklists now, which is what ISP's and other internet e-mail services were planning to do. This was the best way (and perhaps the only way) to prevent them from doing so, and allow you to receive e-mails from us.

Hi all, We've made some changes to the notifications. Please read this topic - you can revert back to the old method (instructions in that post) if you choose :-)
-
Hi all! We have made some changes to the notification preferences for members. Members who previously had "Immediate" notifications have been changed to "Offline" notifications. Please see below for the difference in how to the two types of notifications work, as well as an explanation for the change - and how to revert back to immediate notifications. Offline Notifications: Offline notifications will send you notifications only when you are not online. If you are offline, and a topic you're following is replied to, or a new topic is posted in a forum you're following - you will only receive one notification about that particular topic or forum. Once you visit the topic or forum again, it will reset the notification and again only once you're offline and a new reply has been posted. Immediate Notifications: Immediate notifications will send you a notification for every reply to a topic you're following and for every new topic posted in any forum you're following. Immediate notifications will notify you regardless of whether you are online or offline. We've made this change to comply with modern e-mail practices to maintain a high deliverability rate and to reduce the number of spam complaints that we receive. If you would like to continue receiving immediate notifications as describe, you can most certainly choose to do so. You may follow the instructions below to enable immediate notifications: Enable Immediate Notifications: Click here to go to your Notification Preferences. Ensure that you have "Auto follow topics I reply to" checked. Change "Notification frequency" from "Offline" to "Immediate". While you're here - go ahead and review the options available for your e-mail notifications and select only the ones you're interested in - and deselect anything else. Click "Save Changes". Now your settings will be saved and you'll be notified about everything you've selected on an immediate basis.

Sign In function not working...
Ken S. replied to LittleGirlBlue's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Are all of you who are having the sign-in issue using Internet Explorer? -
I too see it on both posts. You won't be able to view that information when logged out. We have it disabled for Guests to keep the site running smoothly :-)

Testing the like system.
-
Have you tried liking something since I mentioned that I fixed it (just a few minutes ago)...it should work for you too, as you had also liked more than the quota - but we've upped it to 1,000 .
-
I didn't find anyone by the two usernames you mentioned...are they spelled properly?
-
Holy smokes...well, I would have never thought to check this, but I checked everything else. We thought we had a pretty reasonable "like limit" in place, which is 250 per 24 hour period...but it seems you've exceeded that. Between yesterday and today, you've liked over 350 items. I'll increase this setting to 1,000..:-) You can try now.
-
Thank you all for participating in my "Like" test :-) If you all experience any issues with liking - where clicking the Like button results in nothing, please please respond here! Thanks a million.

Ticker - date goal reached - still unable to edit?
Ken S. replied to MeMeMEEE's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Hello, what date are you referring to? I'm a bit confused - as I'm not sure what "edit that date" is referring to...would be more than happy to help once I have a better understanding of what you're referring to :-)
