This is why I'm glad I didn't tell everyone...

I was really open before and after about going the banding route. If I was asked how I'm losing the weight then I tell them. I have yet to receive one negative comment. Not a single one. I've had people be surprised as they didn't think I was big enough to qualify (5'3 1/2" and 237 definately qualifies!) but that's as close as it's come and, honestly, that doesn't qualify as a negative in my book. Maybe I've just been lucky?

    That's not what I wanted...this is.

    Tickers

    Let's see if this works...
  7. My surgery was 11/25/08. It took a good 2 weeks before I had any energy at all and another week or two to feel normal. (My sister had gastric and felt fine in a week. To be fair she has this weird pain tolerance...natural child birth is fine but getting eyebrows waxed is a major thing.) She should not be used as a yardstick by anyone.) Everyone is different but, in my experience, it can take some time to bounce back.

    Day Two and Miserable

So a little update... I drove to my sister's house (about 2 hours) on Day 4. I took the kids (niece and nephew) to the mall and Walmart. At the mall, I was feeling pretty rough but the ladies at Pottery Barn...OMG I love that store...brought me some Water when I looked particularly bad. We left there and went to Walmart where it got really bad. I was crying as we left I hurt so much. So we went back to the house, I took some pain meds, and watched a movie. Today, we did the same shopping routine plus a basketball game, and I drove home. No crying on round 2 though. Still sore and tired but a vast, vast improvement. I think I need to remember that even though it's out-patient, at least it was for me, that it's still surgery and that's going to take some time for the body to recover from.

    Day Two and Miserable

You guys were absolutely correct...it does get better! Today is day 3---the gas is moving (gross I know) and my stomach feels like you do after a really, really hard workout (stiff and sore but definately bearable.)

    Day Two and Miserable

No, he didn't give m anything for nausea just the liquid loritab for pain. Actually, I think i know what caused it....i had some itailan ice (like a firm slushie) and it was LOADED with sugar. I've been off sugar for a while now and I think that's what did it. So no more of that for me. Thanks ya'll....it's nice to know I'm not a baby who needs to suck it up.
  12. Maybe I'm just being a baby here....but OMG I'm in pain. My stomach feels like it's going to stretch open every time I move. The doc's office said i should be up to 4 oz of fluids at a sitting today but there's no way....anything more than a sip or two of juice/water makes me want to throw up. Speaking of that....i'm "throwing up" air which are the strangest burps I've ever had. And if my sister tells me one more time that her sis-in-law was back to work, on her feet no less!, two days after she had her band...I will find the energy to kill her. (Ok, not really but that fab x-mas present I've already bought is sooooooo going back.) Can someone please tell me this too shall pass and it's totally normal? Thanks.
