Good luck. I don't think I am getting more than about 600 calories a day if that, and I am trying to stick as closely to the dr.s instructions as possible. I am not moving as much as I like since I am not working. Start back tomorrow, maybe that will kick things in gear. Thanks

Help, Today marks the end of my second week being banded and I was planning on starting soft foods tomorrow, but I don't feel like I have lost any weight yet. I am down about 6 pounds from the surgery. I have been eating nothing, only drinking shakes and 1/2 cup Soups once a day. I am reluctant to start eating if this is all I am losing with not eating. Is this normal?

Thanks, that is what I needed to know. As long as it is not uncommon and does not become more of a problem I won't worry about it. Hope you are doing well. I am 7 days today and must say I feel very good about everything. Lookiing forward to losing the lbs.

I had my surgery this monday, 5 days ago. Overall I feel very good but I do feel pressure/bloat under my left ribcage. Is this normal. Is it just gas still trying to get out. It is not painful or anything, just wondering what the cause is?

I do understand being terrified of surgery, but by the time it comes you will be so prepared. I had my band on Monday 10/27. I was totally awake when they wheeled me into the or and joking asked if it was too late to change my mind and everyone went into a panic and said I could change my mind at any time. I tried to tell them I was just kidding but they didn't get the joke. It will be over before you know it. Hang in there

Well, I don't know where to start, but would appreciate a few words of encouragement for where I am not. Three days after surgery, having trouble getting 64oz down a day. No food yet. I don't feel too bad, trying to keep busy. Protein drink is lousy - going to look into another flavor or something. Still feeling positive but would love a positive word. Thanks.

Hang in there and continue to ask your doctor. It is not always easy to get approved, but persistance does pay. It only took me 4 months from start to finish but many people say it takes up to a year. Don't give up. For those of us who have tried it all, and are willing to admit we need help, we also need our doctor's help and support. Good luck.
