  1. Hang in there and continue to ask your doctor. It is not always easy to get approved, but persistance does pay. It only took me 4 months from start to finish but many people say it takes up to a year. Don't give up. For those of us who have tried it all, and are willing to admit we need help, we also need our doctor's help and support. Good luck.
  2. Good luck. I don't think I am getting more than about 600 calories a day if that, and I am trying to stick as closely to the dr.s instructions as possible. I am not moving as much as I like since I am not working. Start back tomorrow, maybe that will kick things in gear. Thanks
  3. Help, Today marks the end of my second week being banded and I was planning on starting soft foods tomorrow, but I don't feel like I have lost any weight yet. I am down about 6 pounds from the surgery. I have been eating nothing, only drinking shakes and 1/2 cup soups once a day. I am reluctant to start eating if this is all I am losing with not eating. Is this normal?
  4. Thanks, that is what I needed to know. As long as it is not uncommon and does not become more of a problem I won't worry about it. Hope you are doing well. I am 7 days today and must say I feel very good about everything. Lookiing forward to losing the lbs.
  5. I had my surgery this monday, 5 days ago. Overall I feel very good but I do feel pressure/bloat under my left ribcage. Is this normal. Is it just gas still trying to get out. It is not painful or anything, just wondering what the cause is?

I just had the band done Monday so hopefully I am on my way. I just wanted to let you know that my understanding of the need weight loss if from your highest recorded weight, no matter what the date. So it is okay to start losing now and it will only help you. I needed to lose 16 lbs and lost 24. Just jump through all the hoops they require and han in there.
  7. I do understand being terrified of surgery, but by the time it comes you will be so prepared. I had my band on Monday 10/27. I was totally awake when they wheeled me into the or and joking asked if it was too late to change my mind and everyone went into a panic and said I could change my mind at any time. I tried to tell them I was just kidding but they didn't get the joke. It will be over before you know it. Hang in there
  8. Well, I don't know where to start, but would appreciate a few words of encouragement for where I am not. Three days after surgery, having trouble getting 64oz down a day. No food yet. I don't feel too bad, trying to keep busy. Protein drink is lousy - going to look into another flavor or something. Still feeling positive but would love a positive word. Thanks. shafe001:redface:
