  1. Happy 65th Birthday LindaS!

  2. 3 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 3rd Anniversary LindaS!

  3. rmbj...you've done so well and only you know where your comfort zone is and where you feel best and have a healthy BMI. As for me, my doctor told me my only goals should be to keep the weight off. best of luck to you and everyone else too.
  4. Pasta: Good for you! You seem to be handling it all very well and rational. You have done something to get YOU healthy and that's all you really need to be dealing with right now. I know some of my friends have tried to sabotage my weight loss out of jealousy. Not gonna happen! I wish you the best!
  5. I also wanted to mention that my doctor didn't set a goal weight for me, but it was understood that I should be a healthy BMI weight. On my previous visit with him, he told me not to lose a great deal more or get too thin as it will be difficult to maintain the weight. Good advice. He's really into being fit...as I'm sure they all are.
  6. Hi Linda, glad to see someone my age experienced the Lap Band Surgery. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op, lost 28 lbs and at a stand still. Have not had a fill yet. Is this normal to not lose any more weight.

  7. Even tho my port is at waist level, I have to tell you that at the beginning of this journey, it started just to the left of my sternum near my rib cage. Has been interesting seeing the scar move from under my left boob to close to my waist as I've lost the weight.
  8. I had a secret goal weight of 145 and reached it but I have a new secret goal weight but if I tell you, it'll not longer be a secret...well, okay...shhhhhh don't tell anyone...it's 135
  9. Mine is also about 3 inches left of my bellybutton, but on my waistline so when I eat, I have to losen my belt. It doesn't hurt or anything like that, but I can tell it's there.

    Newbie Questions

Ya know, I am at year and a 1/2 since being banded and I will regurgitate if I don't chew, chew, chew. I know that and still that bad habit of "inhaling" my food creeps up once in a great while. I can't stress enough to chew chew chew. As far as lasagna goes, I pretty much steer clear of white pasta as it seems to just "sit" there and I'd rather eat something that will end up being enjoyable and healthy. I do, however, eat Dreamfields pasta which is low carb and easier to digest, so if you are in the "pasta mood" I would suggest giving that a try. I have found that if I stay away from any "white" foods, such as white pasta, white rice, white breads, etc. (all starchy), I don't regurgitate (reflux). It's healthier to stay away from such things anyway. Good luck. Oh, yes you should definitely speak to your Dr. if it continues.
  11. You look great! My surgery is this tuesday, March 23rd... I look forward to some great after photos myself!

    Newbie Questions

I was banded a year and a half ago and immediately post op, I felt the same way and was concerned if I was going to stay being hungry and able to eat too much. Don't be concerned. After a couple of fills, I was not worried anymore. All in all I have had 4 fills and the last one was about 6 months ago. I eat about 4 oz. of food and am satisfied. So don't get discouraged...just hang in there...it'll all work out.
