Well, Oliaks office sent the approval for surgery to the INS. Hopefully everything is positive. Hernia wow did u have any signs of it besides the heartburn? I always tell my boyfriend I think I have one because my lowe belly is so heavy and big! I really hoppe the surgery isnt before CHristmas only because of family coming to stay, but at the same time I really wanna start losing weight so by summer I can feel better in a suit. U know what I mean? So hey how long did it take for you to recover?

Hey thanks for the positivity! I was wondering because I have real bad heartburn when I eat certain foods, and I hear all that should go away with eating less and better. I also suffer from knee and feet pain due to my 347 pd self.Do u have any co-morbidities with the overweightness?

First off congrats!!!!! Is it hard for you to keep up with the diet?
Well, at this moment I am waiting for the approval from Pacificare to see Dr.Oliak. From the time I inquired, went to the seminar, met with the psych, seen the dietician its been a month. I guess I am impatient. Everything was moving fast then, I lost a week because my approval from the psych never reached my md's office so I had to call and see what was going on. The referral dude was like we haven't received it yet, so then they did and now I am 5 days into waiting for the ok. Sorry such a long message, but I guess that is why the website was made to talk! haha.

Yeah, I have an HMO. Thank you for reminding me about seeing my PCP once a month. I am due for that, he mentioned it but I wasn't sure if he meant see him after the surgery once a month. So how is your weight loss looking? How much have you lost?

You should start by talking to your Primary Care Physician. He/she will have all the answers you need. Also, depending on where u live there are free no obligation informational seminars.

Hey there.
I was reading some of your posts. Did u mean that Dr David Oliak had a 4 month waiting list? Because my PCP said that I would be in and out in 4 months, that was 1 month ago. I wondering? I also have Pacificare HMO CA...could we chat more about this?

Thanks a bunch for responding. I should be having mine done at Chapman, as my PCP is Dr. Ronald Daoud. How long was your total wait from the point of seminar to the actual surgery date?

Hello and congrats on the approval! I have me the dietician and psych as well, both have approved. I am now to wait for the referral for the surgeon visit. I have chosen Dr. David Oliak, who are you going with? I chose him and actually had to switch PCP ( I am thankful for he is a great doctor) because I have an HMO. Which insurance do u have? Keep us updated!
