  1. Just think Green.....only 30 more lbs and you'll be at your ideal weight! That is awesome! You'll be there sooner than you think.
  2. I'm not surprised Maria; us Irish folk have the same sense of humour! :guess
  3. Green, has TLBC at least told you how much you've lost?
  4. Hi Taymac, What you are feeling is completely normal....but once you have the band (properly restricted that is) you won't feel the hunger like you do now...so yes, in a way this IS the tough part. I had to do a yougurt pre-op diet (not optifast) but I still suffered the same feelings of hunger and headache and tiredness etc, so I can relate. Also, a few yrs a go I did do the entire Optifast program (a few months of optifast!!!) so I DO know wherein you are coming from. If it is the taste that is bugging you, add any and all flavours from extracts (ie. bananna, almond, peppermint, vanilla etc etc); it really helps and builds up the yum factor. As for the non-flavour issues: be strong and stick with it....yes, we ALL experienced it (those who had to do a pre-op diet) and live to tell the tale...so just tell yourself that if "they" can do it, "I" can do it!!! You are almost THERE!!!!!! It WILL get better!!!!!!
  5. LOL That is great Mandi....ONEderland is right there....within grasp!!! Yes, you will most definitely need to make a new Xmas goal!!! ummmm....re. your Gramma and callin' her a liar...ummm.....depends....how big is she??!!! :peep: Maybe when people say "I'm gonna be on Deal or no Deal" it is merely wishful thinking and then people overhear them say it and take it literally and then the dreaded rumour starts! Too funny really, because there are only going to be five shows in Canada....which equates to maybe about 10 people total who will get to be on it; a decision they can't make until AFTER the auditions!!!! Coooool opportunity for the lucky folks who make it though!
  6. *snickers* aaaaah, what I could say here!!! I could run with this so many different ways!! Once again, I shall refrain! :speechles
  7. As stated in the Collins English Dictionary (Canadian Edition): Guffaw: burst of boisterous laughter :peep:
  8. Wheezy: you might need to re-think it for sure. (your fill I mean). Have you been losing an average of 1-2 lbs a week?
  9. LOL ...No problem!! Seriously though, the earliest auditions aren't until 27 Nov (Vancouver) and they continue across the country with the last ones being I believe on 10 Dec (out East)....so...ummmmm....auditions haven't even begun yet, so I highly doubt anyone has been selected for the contestant pool!!!
  10. Glad it was only an anomaly Mandi!!! BTW, how does your cousin know that he/she is going to be on the show if applications aren't due until 17th and auditions aren't until Dec??? Hmmmm?????
  11. Lila: are you truly going to Mexico?!! SWWEEEEEET. We went there 2 winters ago and had a BLAST!!!!!!
  12. Congrats to Mr Cloe....well done!!!! :clap2: bonus: new clothes!!!!
  13. don't compare yourself to your compartriots though Green.....don't forget it is all individual for the most part...and may just be a coinicidence that they are getting the same fills. They also base it on your average weight loss per week/month etc...and whether or not you feel "tight" and have troubles with certain foods etc...and yes...whether you had a prob and needed a defill. So, as difficult as it is, try not compare since each situation will be different!
  14. Thanks for the update Mandi....glad u had a good time but yeah...that sucks about being so tight!! Holy crap.....what was up with that!!! Yes, you will have lost lots this week....but I worry about the way you are losing it!!! Stay healthy! (but I know it will feel like it was worth it when you see the numbers! LOL). I have a prob with mushrooms too (cooked and uncooked)....so avoiding them for a bit myself. Mandi....remember how you were really tight after your fill.....it did go away though, right? I mean, you haven't been eating like this since then have you? In other words, you did eventually get back to "normal" right? This situation on the trip was just an anomaly?
  15. That is great news Wheezy!! My last fill (Aug) was 2 ccs....brought me from 5 to 7 in my 10 cc band.
  16. Way to go Maria, that is AWESOME!!! :clap2:
  17. Yes, maybe your fill will do the trick Neenagh.
  18. Kewl photos Mandi! Did you have a good time? Were you able to get to Peggy's Cove and to the Lower Deck.....I recognize the shot from Barrington St!!
  19. LOL Maria....wellllllllllllllll, that is kinda funny....what Mr Irishmist said!!! hehe. ....and...wouldn't y'all like to know what I'm doing with that rubber ducky!!!! :rolleyes
  20. LOL Cloe, you actually made me GUFFAW....not once, but twice!!! Me thinks Mr Yoda and Mr Cloe are of the same mindset....remind me to never get those two together! Yes, I am still fighting this cold/flu thingy....(another reason why I probably have no patience lately and this Costco tire thing rattled me)....if I STILL haven't shaken it by the end of this week (which will make it 2 weeks) I'll go see a quack about it. Speaking of quack....how did you know I have a rubber ducky in my tub?? (I have two, actually....and a third one that lights up and changes colours in the water....that one is Mr Yoda's though!!). Yes people, we have NO kids......what's your point??!! Adults can have rubber duckys toooooooo! Alright, I am heading to the tub now to thaw my butt and to calm my fiery red-headed Irish temper down before Mr Yoda walks in the door; not fair to him to take it out on him. :sick :sick
  21. Okay, so I had today off work (federal gov't holiday for the 11th). I got up bright and early (my day off!!!) to go to costco and get there 30 mins before it opened so that I could get my winter tires put on my car...thinking....how smart am I. Okay, well, much to my DISMAY, about 30,000 other people had the same idea this morning....despite my early arrival, there were already 25 people ahead of me in line. *SIGH*. So, once they open, I snake my way through the line and get to the counter at 10:15 and I'm told it will be ready by 4:00. OMIGAWD>....I live too far away to just take a cab home (ie. nearby town) and so now I was STUCK. (I did have the foresight to bring a book, thinking I "might" have to wait 30 mins....but NOT over 6 hours!!!). So, I called Mr Yoda (who did have to work today) thinking he would take pity on me, leave work and come get me to take me home. Nooooooooooooo. WTF????? He merely said, "go home and we'll try another time". But, c'mon, it will be like this ALL the time!!!! So, I called a friend who lives in the city to see if she could either take me home or I could hang with her but her phone was continuously busy for over 2 hrs (she has teens, so go figure!) and so I never got through. So, not knowing what to do I just started reading my book. After 2 hrs, the guy took pity on me and asked me which car was mine. He then said it it would be ready by 1:30 instead of 4:00. Oh joy. (sarcasm). True to his word, I got it at 1:30, so I "only" had to wait for 4 hours!!!! GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I got home by 2:00. Okay....so the actual point of this is: I was now STARVING.....since I had my Breakfast (a few bites of toast) six hours earlier. So, on the way home, I thought how GREAT it would be to stop at Wendys and have a burger and fries; something I would likely have done pre-band days to soothe my frustration and anger of wasting all that time ON MY DAY OFF.....you know...make it all okay and worthwhile. (Keep in mind I haven't even had a bite of a burger since early April!). Anyways, I obviously did NOT stop at Wendys because I figured I would only be able to eat a few fries and that would be it.....so I came straight home. So, that is an NSV in itself. BUT< when I got home I was so damn hungry I went straight for a bag of Salt & Vinegar chips that were in the house.....I ate maybe 4 chips (too fast) and felt icky (caught it in time though!) and then realized....okay...yeah, I have a band....I suppose thank god for the band. But on the other hand, I was thinking, "DAMN YOU DAMN BAND". I'm a freak. I know it. And now I have to try not to be pissed off at Mr Yoda when he gets home for not volunteering to come and get me earlier. What a rough day. SHADDDUP!!! I know it's all relative!!!! LOL....I mean, I KNOW I don't have a teenager driving me batty....(*hugs Cloe*) but it was still tough for me in it's own way. By the way...did I mention that I froze my ass off literally on a cold slab of cement while I was waiting in the lobby area? Really...my ass is still sooooo cold......I'm gonna take a warm bath but I gotta wait for it (my ass) to warm up a bit or it will sting when it hits the water!!! As much as I love Canada and being a Canadian I hate that we live in a climate that puts us through the damn tire changing season. Grrrrrr. Okay, I vented (see Maria!!!) so I feel better now. I'm gonna go see if I can squeeze in one more chip now! hehe :guess
  22. Hang in there Cloe!
  23. Hiya Maria! Bitch away all you want!! I know the feeling though...I tend to keep things to myself as well (yes, believe it or not!!!). I was sick all last week too (and it is still hangin' on) and I also thought I'd lose....I gained 1 lb last week. Go figure. First time I've gained since August. Ugh. I'm thinking it is just the body's way of saying "WTF?!!" after being sick for a while.....probably yours too. Dunno why you gained 5 lbs....but no worries....it'll come off. Slow but sure wins the race.....right? I sure as hell hope so!! Anyways, hang in there Maria....you can do it, we can do it, we all can do it! This was just a little speed bump in the road of life.....
  24. Happy B'day Doriana!! I wouldn't worry about the throat thing. ...and YES.....if you are still hungry...have some more yougurt for a snack throughout the day etc. You can't just eat it at Breakfast, lunch and dinner...that isn't enough to sustain you...so have some yougurt Snacks as well!!! You're doin' GREAT!
  25. Yup, it too will pass Cloe! (I hope!) Hang in there!
