  1. LOL @ Cloe! Hey Wheezy...have a GREAT shopping and R&R trip!!! I remember the days of shopping in Plattsburg...yeeehaaaa!!! Relax and enjoy yourselves.....recharge and all!
  2. oh yeah, completely normal. If it's not, than the 3 of us are merely crazed in the same way. It's like a double edged sword. Ya wanna "feel it"....then when you do....it's like, "dammmmmmit, there it is!"
  3. We seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee you!!! *waves* c'mon....join in, we promise we won't bite!! You just can't BE shy on the internet!!!! You are completely anonymous!!!
  4. consider yourself fortunate Mandi, I can't get on from work....too many secure firewalls in the way! Damn gov't!!!
  5. That's a great perspective Carol; I'm sure it was tough at the time but alls well that ends well!! Just takes longer for some to get there I guess. Cloe: did u ask your daughter "why" she wasn't at school....what was so important etc? When you said the b/f was "mad" ....I hope you didn't mean mad at you but mad/disappointed in your daughter for the choice she made? If the latter, yes that is a good thing and may be helpful to your cause. Good luck with the "key" episode...well I guess it already happened, eh? I hope it went alright and everyone is still in one piece. Yup, they can't have it both ways...have the responsibility and be treated like an adult (or almost one) and then act like they are 13......for sure. Be strong.
  6. Yes Cloe...u did post about getting a fill on Mon...dunno if it was HERE that you posted it but you DID post it!
  7. Yah, that's why Mr Yoda & I stick to dust bunnies!!

  12. That is actually very cute Neenagh....and original!!
  13. :canada: :canada: :canada: :canada: :canada: :canada: Alrighty....inquiring minds (hopefully more than just mine!) want to know where my fellow Canucks from the Canadian Corner derive their "user names" from. Spill the Beans and fill us in!!!! I'll start. I'm a huge Star Wars fan (duh!) and one of my favourite characters is Yoda. One of my friends would always call me "Yoda" for the sage (?) wisdom I would offer her (only when she asked of course!!!). I went a wee bit nuts (with excitement) in that scene wherein we all saw Yoda fight for the first time....bouncing around like a ping pong ball and swinging his light sabre in the way only Yoda can!! I was so impressed by that scene, I started clapping and cheering in the movie theatre (unheard of for me!)....it caught on and then everyone started doing it! It was awesome. Anyways, when I signed onto here for the first time, I really didn't know what username to use and then Yoda popped into my head as I looked up at the Yoda Pez Dispenser I have near my comp. C'est ca, mes amies!!!! Votre turn!!!!
  14. Hmmmmmmmmm yeah, I do know what you are trying to say here Jodie.....but realistically lets face it; if you don't go to class, you aren't going to learn all you should be learning. If I had a choice between having a doctor who did not go to all his classes (and decided to learn on his own; ie from his books) operate on me versus the doctor who DID go to his classes and learn ALL the little things, I would obviously choose the latter. Like I said, I recognize the point you are making....but we have to be serious. That aside: (((((((((((((((((hugz Cloe))))))))))))))))))))) Hey, my friend, I didn't know you were going through this. ALL my sympathies. You've received lots of good advice here and nothing I have to say is any different. You notice it is all varying in styles and methods....which is natural; I think the plan of action you take in these situations will always be different depending on the people involved and their characters, histories etc. All you can do is what you think is best and if it STILL doesn't work out the way you want it and the way you picture your daughter's life being, you will have to accept it....as hard as that is. I feel for you and I also feel for your daughter; I would soooo not want to be that age again and face those difficult times. It is soooo damn easy for us to see the mistakes she is making and I know you want the best for her but there will only be so much you can do before you have to let her live with the consequences of her decision. On a good note, 17 is still "young" enough that she still has time to turn it around. Maybe (I hope) she is just testing the waters....and testing your reactions to things. My only one piece of advice is to not stop communicating (calmly)....just keep the truth channels open. I got married when I was 21 (only lasted 3 yrs) and even walking down the aisle I soooooo wanted to turn around and run like hell. But I didn't because I was afraid I would disappoint my parents....calling it off at the last minute etc. MANY MANY yrs later I found out that they both wanted me to call it off and they wanted to tell me that it would be okay with THEM if I did. Well....I wish I had of known that THEN!! Ya know? So, just keep communicating in a loving and respesctful way (I know it will be hard sometimes and you will want to scream bloody murder....but just do that on your own time). Good luck. (((((HUG))))
  15. My Canuck Oct goal was 4 lbs. I lost 6. :) Here's hopin' for my 10 lbs loss by Xmas!!!! (plus, I want to lose 5 lbs by 4 Dec --- my next appt with the specialist who referred me to the lapband....I want to "impress" him with a 60 lb loss by then - cause he really went to bat for me!).
  16. no probs Mandi.....blog away!
  17. I know many people who would tend to agree with you!!! But I'm okay with that.
  18. No worries Maria, you still did well...it is 6.5 lbs GONE!!! I hear ya on the Water intake!
  19. wow wheezy.....it shouldn't really be like that.....r u sure you aren't too tight?
  20. I understand why though....in our organization (Fed Gov't dep't) you have to put your "harassment" complaint in writing. It is for everyone's benefit, including yours. She will find out anyways, whether you make the "official" complaint in writing or verbally....so just be stong and do what you feel is right (write!)!
  21. Hi Khrissy and welcome to the Canuck corner!! Come visit us more often!
  22. it doesn't matter....it ALL counts..... I think you missed the point we all have made.
  23. I still have several of my records too....but nowhere to play 'em!! LOL I just can't bring myself to part with them.
  24. I would let her know. You don't even have to come out and tell her in advance...when she starts to talk to you, say "hang on" and pull our your recorder. That is "letting her know". Of course, she'll say "what the...." and you just say, "unfortunately, due to your unprofessional, rude and erratic behaviour, it has come to this in order to protect myself" (or something like that!). If THAT doesn't make her think twice and change her actions, you just keep on recording. Also, I'm not so sure it actually is legal .....you'd have to check. Anyways, it certainly wouldn't "hold up" if any "legal" action or perhaps official union related business had to take place because of it all.....I don't think it would count, so to speak......I just remember reading that somewhere. As an example, a student can't tape an instructor's lecture without the instructor knowing about it (& preferably consenting). Good luck though!!!! I would be doing the same thing if I were you. A few years ago, a colleague of mine had an upcoming performance evaluation report with "the boss" and he took in a recorder because he had heard horror stories about things that go on during this closed door session......he pulled it out and asked the boss if he would mind if he taped it.....of course the boss was stunned but he couldn't really say no...because what would he have to hide....right? So, it went well.
