Well done Green!!! :clap2: So, is that it? Are you at goal now?

I knew she was looking for stuff for her "clear fluids" phase because she mentioned the same thing on another thread (looking for isopure for clear fluid). I didn't say you were trying to mislead her...my post was not targeting you negatively in any way (if you thought so, sorry you got so defensive!)...I just wanted to remind her that milk and yogurt are not considered "clear fluids" by HER doctor. Maybe YOUR doctor told you milk was okay to mix with Protein shakes "three days out" but I know that her doctor doesn't recommend milk as a "clear fluid" for that first stage. cheers

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Yoda replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
nooooooooo, not meeeee!!! I'm referring to the movie we saw last night. We both reallllly liked it. It was HILARIOUS and very well done. I also liked the several references to Canada in the film. Several scenes had our flag in it, too. It reminded me of "Something About Mary" in it's humour.....I highly recommend it. Next on our list is "Mr Brooks" and the upcoming "Oceans 13". I can't WAIT for the one entitled "Chuck and Larry"....I nearly peed my pants laffin' during the previews!!! -
oh, I forgot to mention our other pets...we have several dustbunnies that seem to live here as well. They don't take a lot of care though! :omg::paranoid
-
Susansilver: I just have the one pet: Mr Yoda!!!! :kiss DonnaD...I'm sorry your dog had to be put down. That is such a sad story....(I sooooo love dogs....the bigger the better!).

Tattoo!!!!! I'm getting the one I have around my ankle "fixed" this afternoon (I had emergency surgery 4 yrs ago and they had to "cut" through my tattoo). While there, I am getting another one and Mr Yoda is getting his first!!! His mother is going to kill me (yet another thing I'm a bad influence on him for!!!). But of course, as you all know, Mr Y. has a mind of his own and I did NOT talk him into this (I would never talk anyone into something as permanent as a tattoo...it is an individual decision)...but all the same; I can't wait to see his mom's face!!!! *evil laughter*

LOL yeah, okay...I see what you mean now...Yes, "Yoda's Yammerins" is us!! When you said "Journal" I thought you were referring to the actual journal feature on here where people go in and do like journal/diary type entries (which I haven't done but which Mr Yoda has done a few). (that being said, that journal feature has been "down" for a few weeks now). I didn't realize you were referring to our "Thread" versus "Journal". Gotcha now!!!

Stop confusing her!!!! Don't worry about it Miranda. As I've said before and as the clinic said...it isn't "required". All that is required is CLEAR FLUIDS and Gatorade and Propel ARE clear fluids. And yes you need protein (I assume she already knows that!) but you can mix any Protein powder into any clear Fluid and then....as a bonus you can use that same protein powder later in your full fluid and mushie stages. (not to mention the fact that protein isn't as important during the first few days of clear fluids...it comes more into play during the full fluid stage). Also maybe lizrbit didn't intent to mislead you but don't forget that milk and yogurt are NOT clear fluids.
-
Good luck Miranda....you'll do GREAT!!!! (ummmmm, if you are referring to me, thanks for the kinds words but I'm a wee confused as I don't do journal entries....so not sure who you are talking about! Mr Yoda has done a few entries though...but he was only banded last month). May the Band be With You!

Isopure is hard to find in Canada...unless you live in TO! LOL. Seriously, it is here, but difficult to find (& VERY expensive when you do). Isopure is NOT required...it is merely listed as suggestion among many so that you have an idea what they are talking about. Propel and gatorade are also clear fluids....are easily available, are cheaper, are also suggested and do the same thing. Don't waste your energy (or money) on the isopure and go another route.....before you know it your week of clear fluids will be up anyways and then you can do your boost/ensure or whatever.

That is sooooooooooooooooooooo AWESOME Angel Bear!!!! You must be so thrilled.....and proud of yourself!! Keep it up. We need to get together soon!
-
I've done it!!! It's booked, oh my God.....
Yoda replied to Band-aided's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Isopure isn't "required" for the post-op...it is merely one of the many suggestions for the clear Fluid stage....any clear fluid will do...(ie. gatorade, propel etc). -
Did YOU Start Solids Early???
Yoda replied to susansilver's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Just to clarify though.....it isn't about the "loss" it is about the "healing". -

:update: I know some of you oldtimers have been wondering how Cloe is. This is to let you know that she is alive & well & doin' great!!! She is very busy with life...not only with their lambing but also with her other job. And if that and her family weren't enough, she is busily working at opening her own business (online and at her home). That being said though, she sound really really happy, energetic, enthused and motivated! Just thought some of you might like to know why she isn't around and provide you with the update! I'm really happy for her.

LOL...Mandi...I dunno why it wasn't there!!! I guess it decided to "go away on it's own on that one"...You're the computer whiz, not me!! although it is one big ol' lie anyways right now...*sigh*

Did YOU Start Solids Early???
Yoda replied to susansilver's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was a good lil' bandster and did not start solids early. I truly followed the instructions to a "T". I wanted to start of on the right foot. -
:canada::canada::canada: June Goals: 1. Continue working out like a madwoman 2. Lose 2 lbs (yup, at this point, I will be happy with 2 lbs...>YEEESH) 3. Support Mr Yoda on his band journey 4. Survive a four night visit from my parents in mid-June:omg:

aboslutely, 100%, completely normal.

I've known this for a few months now....just didn't want to get into a big "thing" about it so never mentioned it. Why? Because the bottom line is that he has not been associated with TLBC for quite some time now. That is what the important thing is. I hope this thread doesn't turn ugly, because who are we to judge on allegations. Plus, as I said...it is a moot point since he is not with TLBC and it was never the Dr. Joffe clinic....it was "TLBC".
-
No, they won't do it under fluro unless there is a problem with your fill and they "need" to do it under fluro. If that happens, it isn't done at TLBC...you have to go to the Scarborough Grace Hospital and have it done there. Dr Yau does it there for you though (by appt. obviously).
-
Yup, no question....he went to the TLBC as well. He is doing very well (check out Yoda Yammerin's thread). I'm doing alright...have stalled for several weeks...but I know it is all part of the process. Mr Yoda says because I now have so much muscle etc.....that I may be "gaining muscle"...blah blah blah!!! Tomorrow is my monthly picture taking and measurement day though....so even though I haven't lost in several weeks, I'm hoping to be down some more inches. I'm TRYING not to go by just the scale!

That is awesome Buffie! Mr Yoda (who got banded last month) is diabetic but thankfully not on insulin...just oral meds. He hasn't had to take any of his gluconorm since being banded and we are keeping an eye and after awhile (ie. once he is on solid food for awhile and is at or near goal weight) we hope he can come off his other diabetes related meds....time will tell! (That is one of the goals for him). Small fills and patience and allowing it to take time is the best way to do it...and look how great it has worked for you! I'm "tighter" in the morning as well but I still attempt to have SOMETHING....(one of Dr Yau's 3 cardinal rules!). This morning tightness is pretty common from what I can tell. But if you are so tight that you can't eat Breakfast at all...then....a defill is in order....as that is not the point of the band. As for the "why" of the morning tightness....there are a few theories that have all been covered on other threads....personally I don't care why!! LOL...I just care about the consequences! Re. the "1 cup thingy"....I generally can't eat 1 cup of anything in the am....like you...I do a yogurt or fruit or something. But, generally speaking....tho I don't actually "measure" anymore, I do eyeball to make sure I'm not eating more than 1 cup at any given meal. I don't find it that difficult to adhere to. It's okay if you eat less too....as long as you are getting in your needed Protein. So happy to hear you are doing well; I missed my fave vampire slayer!!! :rolleyes

This Time Tomorrow I'll Be Banded For Life!!
Yoda replied to marcar35's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Marcar!!! Good luck! As I look at the clock, you are only an 2.5 hrs away from banding!!! You're almost there!!!! (yeah, yeah, I know you won't see this until afterwards!!! LOL)...so, in that case....how ya feelin'? Hope all is well and take care!!!!!! :rolleyes -
