  1. Youre a sicko. If you dont stop sending me messages, I will report you.
  2. If you read the post, you would see that 2 of these women were using the surgery to get out of sexual relations. I dont need to lighten up. You need to read carefully before you respond with inaccurate information and attacks.
  3. Hi, Everyone. I got banded on Ictober 16th and its amazing how many different diets we all need to be on before and after surgery. I had to lose 5% of my bod weight before surgery, had to follow low fat, low carb, high protein and vegetable diet at least 2 weeks prior to surgery, had to follow full liquid diet, including dairy liquids for 2 days prior to surgery, and then had to follow clear liquiid diet for 1 day prior. I came home same day, and now for two weeks must follow full liquid diet. I can finally have one meal of soft protein starting Thursday. But, can anyone tell me if once you eat regular food, are you feeling full or just restricted? I want to feel full after eating a little bit. I dont want to feel sick or in pain. What is the difference between these? Please someone tell me???
  4. You too? Why are you women trying to avoid sex? Do you have a selfish partner? Is he mean to you? Does he put you down? Does it lovemaking skills leave something to be desired? Whats the problem? Please dont clump all women in this category of always avoiding sex. I, as well as all of my friends LOVE sex!! We never avoid it unless we are tired or not feeling well. Maybe once you lose some weight and gain some sel-esteem, you will feel differently. Good Luck.
  5. It upset me to read your reply. What do you mean, "I'm a woman so I have been using my surgery to get me OUT of having to have relations. Sex is such an integral part of a relationship. It s something to be enjoyed, not something that you avoid. Is it because your overweight that you feel this way? Sex is a great way to be intimate with your partner, to feel close, loved, and desired. I hope that one day you will feel differently and realize that sex is not a chore, but a way to receive great pleasure and intimacy with your partner. Also, you are doing a disservice to women when you perpetuate the notion that we pretend to be sick to avoid it. I love sex and never feel that way, as do many women. Good luck.
  6. Wow- that is rough. I only had to do a liquid diet for two days prior to my surgery. I just had my surgery on 0ct 16th and I habe to follow a diet of one shake a day, pluse clear soup, tea, crystaliite, etc. And, believe me , thats driving me nuts. I need food soon and caint wait until thursday nite when i can have 1 meal of soft protein. That goes for thw week and then it gets better from there.I cant believe you have to do liquid for over 3 weeks? If you are feeling that way, speak to your doctor. Thats not "head hunger", thats real hunger. Good luck
  7. Hi, Lori. The gauze bandages can be taken on in about 2-3 days. But, leave the steri-strips on. They will fall off by themselves. I was banded on the 16th. Godd luck.
  8. :crying:I also had my surgery last thursday and I can only have shakes for two weeks. Thank god tomorrow is the end of the first week. I'm hungry also. Your band should not be filled when they put it in. They usually fill it in about six weeks. I told the nutritionist about my hunder and she said it was just "head hunger". Bullshit, this is real stomach hunger. I'm asking if I can have tomato soup or egg drop soup. Theres only so many shakes and broths I can eat. I feel your pain.
  9. Relax!!! Dont listen to the nervous nellies. I had surgery on Oct 16th. What you are experiencing is not chest pain. I had that too. It only lasted for a few days and every once in a while if I breathed in deeply. I also had back pain. All that will subside. But please dont make yourself a nervous wreck, just call your doctor if you feel something isnt right. You'll fell better once you speak to him or her.
  10. OMG! Why are you back at work in less than a week? I was banded on Oct 16th and cant imagine going back to work yet. I took a week off to heal and adjust. I need that. I told everyone. I have had a lot of people give me negative feedback about it, but I couldnt care less. The negative people were the one show dont have a weight problem or dont have a serious one. They have no idea what it is like for me. I think they are scared of losing their eating partner. Too bad. Maybe in a few months, I wont be the fattest person in the group. I cant wait to get past 2 week mark, so I can have soft foods and feel somewhat normal. Good luck to you.
  11. Can u guys try to keep these forums for lapband discussions, please? We are supposed to be talking about our experiences and the journey we are taking. You are turning this into a meeting place for sexual activity. Why dont u try going onto websites that advertise for that stuff? This is not the place.
  12. OMG! I felt the same way. I got my band on Thursday and I am hungry too. Nurse told me its head hunger. thats BS. I only have one shake per day, plus water, clear broth, tea, etc. This is real hunger. I'll be ok though. Cant wait for the next phase of soft food. My back was hurting also, its better now. It also hurt a little when I breathed in deep. I cant wait for these first few weeks to pass, so I can feel a little more normal. Good luck.
  13. Why would you eat all that stuff anyway? Werent you afraid this would happen? Maybe your boyfriend should be more helpful as you go through this journey. I dont mean to judge, but we all know what we are supposed to do.
  14. Dont worry! I just had my surgery on Thursday. I was so freaked out with the anesthesia thing, but the doctors were so cool and reassuring. I was out cold before I even realized and then all of a sudden I was awake again. I worried for nuthin. I have some tips for you. In recovery your mouth an lips will feel so dry. Ask the nurse for some swabs for that- she'll probably give them to you anyway. They moisten your mouth. Wear something very loose and comfortable, like sweats. If you have them, slip-on sneakers, bring chapstick, and a pillow for the ride home to stick between you and your seatbelt. Make sure you take your pains killers in and out of the hospital at first even if you think you dont need them. I stopped taking mine Saturday. Walk as much as possible to prevent clots. You will feel sore, but that gets better. My left side hurts a little more than the right. I was hungry and the nutritionist told me it was probably head hunger, so that made me feel better. I'm allowed one shake per day, water, plus clear broth, tea, crystallite, and I have a little coffee w/ half & half and splenda in the morning. Except for the coffee, the other stuff counts towards your required liquid intake- for me its 64 oz. I was very anxious up until surgery and now I'm past that. You will feel that way too. Good Luck!
  15. I was banded on oct 16th. I'm hungry!
  16. My doctors suggested I take Colace or Senekot. By the way, I just had surgery on Oct 16th and havent taken any laxative since Tuesday as suggested. I have had a bowel movement every day since, although very loose and like diarrhea. But dont worry, ask your doc. Dont forget, your not eating! What do you expect?
  17. I had my surgery on Oct 16th. I'm hungry too. Why cant you have a protein shake once per day? How are you getting your protein? I have been drinking water, tea, crystal lite, and I am going to have clear broth tonite. I think the discomfort that eveyone is talking about is the feeling of indigestion, like a pain or pressure right under your breastbone. Its the same feeling as if you took too many aspirin and it bothers your stomach. Right now, my stomach is still sore but feeling better. It hurts when I get up from a chair and try to straitghen up. My stomach has been growling practically all day. I cant wait until these 2 weeks are up and I can have sodt food!
  18. Please dont go to work! You have to realize that regardless of how good you feel, you have had major surgery moving your organs around. Stay home, relax, heal, adjust. Why such a rush to get back to work? Do you want to go back to the hospital if anything happens? Dont do it. Besides, I just had my surgery on Oct 16th. Its now Sunday night. I'm still sore getting up, bending, etc. I cant even imagine putting on any type of clothing right now that doesnt have elastic and plenty of room so that it doesnt rub against my incisions. I took next week off. I need to rest, re-group, and heal. You should do the same!
  19. When you find out, please let me know. I just had my surgery on Oct 16th and I am hungry. My stomach keeps growliing. I'm not eating enough to feel any restriction. I'm assuming its because I'm only having one shake per day, plus teas, water , and crystal lite.
  20. Dr. Artuso in Dobbs ferry Hospital, right?
  21. Good luck- I just had my surgery on Thursday, Oct.16th. I freaked myself out for nothing. Its now Sunday and I feel pretty good, except I'm sore, more on my left side and a little swollen and bloated. I just had a small cup of coffee and sipping it slow. Today I woke up feeling a little full. Normally I wake up and want to eat right away. I worry about losing my hair, because my hair is average and not thick to begin with. The only thing that makes me feel better is that it grows back. Dont worry. It will be ok and we will move on and feel better. Just watch how fas the months will fly and this will all be behind us.. I feel like Oct.16th was my birthday. You'll feel the same way. Good luck!!!
