Hi everyone I'm new here and i am being banded may 25 , tomorrow YIKES I'm nervous and very excited. I have been following my preop diet , yogurt and cottage cheese for 7 days about 90 % . just had 2 green salads. I live in Toronto and I'm having it done at TLBC . Anyone else from Toronto? I will let you know how it went I also hate IV's , that will be the worst part for me i'm sure How do I start a ticker tape? Thanks for the support and also the good feedback Jill

    April Bandits 2006 May talk

Sallyjo thanks for your great input. I am very motivated and hope to be able to be just as disciplined as you. I have 100 pounds to lose , so I plan to take it with month to month goals. I go to curves fitness daily now and does anyone know how soon i will be able to resume it after surgery?

    April Bandits 2006 May talk

Hi Everyone I'm having my surgery may 25 so I find this site so helpful and informative thanks. Thanks for starting a new thread. I start my preop diet thursday and my Doc says only yogurt and cottage cheese, do you think protein shakes are ok on preop. I use the low carb ones? (atkins) also can i have fruit in the yogurt? Thanks again everyone for support and valuable info Jill

    It's real now

Thanks for all the good advise. I am so excited to get this surgery behind me. You guys are such a great inspiration. I have already lost 10 pounds since I booked the surgery so I finally think I've got my brain into this weight loss issue. This surgery will be a great reminder each and every time i go to binge on the carbs again thanks everyone

    It's real now

Thanks Jam for your insights. It sure is great to have people let you know what to expect, and how to do it safely and effectively. I use alot of protein powder shakes and was wondering if that would be ok for my preop diet instead of the cottage cheese and yogurt. I do not normally eat or drink alot of dairy. Also I cannot find the isopure drinks that the clinic is recommending for 1 week post op. I from Ontario Canada if anyone can help me locate them Thanks again

    It's real now

Hi , I'm now getting excited and nervous. Surgery date is May 25 . I have started to stock up on protein replacement meals. My Doctor has recommended that for the week before surgery I have only cottage cheese and yogurt. Has anyone else had that protocol? Thanks for your support I have 100 pounds to lose and it seems imposible to see that far ahead so I will follow some of you that are ahead of me. Thanks again:)

Hi waterlily When did you have your surgery? When you say painful are you referring to hunger pains or physical pains? What are you eating? Where did you have your surgery done? The diet procedure for me is 1 week prior to surgery only yogury, cottage cheese and water. 2 weeks after is clear fluids only, and 2 weeks after that is full fluids only. is that the same for most? I will support you and hopefully things get much easier Good luck and hang in there
