Limited To What I Can Tolerate To Eat

My surgeon told me not to eat rice or pasta (it can expand in your band causing discomfort), no breads (why waste space on 2-3 bites of carbs). Careful with veggies stringy is bad such as asparagus, celery or with heavy skins like corn and peppers (harder to break down). Now what to eat what? What works for you! In 3 years post surgery what I ate day 30 and what I ate day 1095 is different. For protein I eat alot of fish, never hamburger but some good red meat, chicken tends to get stuck so I usually avoid. Veggies I eat fresh spinach or edamame. Yogurt works for me. I also do a high protein shake for breakfast-- I do not eat eggs so this has been the best solution for me plus I usually get 20-30 grams of my protein in one drink! Do not make the mistake of resulting to "soft food" because it is easier such as ice cream or mashed potato! Find the good food that works for you but remember protein first (40-80grams per day) then fruits and veggies then if you have room carbs.

    Gas pain outta control!!!

It is normal and depends on you and your pain tolerance. The more you move the better you will feel so get out and walk! It is not the same as gas in your tummy so the gas-x does not work the same. It is in your abdomen. Are you taking in some type of nourishment every 2 hours? Also my Doc went through a long explanation of where I should feel my hunger and a lot of what I was feeling that I thought was hunger is really swallowed air that is being processed.
  6. In my case my first fill could not have come soon enough as I felt I had no restriction and was scared that I was going to gain weight back. I talked with my surgeon and some of the restriction problems I was causing. I kept having some liquids with my meals and washing away the food past the band and therefore not ever feeling full. I would have soup or small sips of water thinking no big deal and it was. As for your Doc you need to just ask if someone else can do your next fill because you are feeling uncomfortable, if no one else can at least you said it and they will know you are unhappy.
