Fill Needle
Well, if you go all out with the special Big Dogs boxers, I'm 100% certain they forget all about their husbands. LOL. How many fills did it take for you to get "proper" restriction? I go back the first week in Sept. and think I need maybe another 0.5 cc or so.
-
Should I get a fill?
It sounds like you're ready for a fill but maybe not 3 cc's. Since you are not eating much on some days, you might want to start with 1.5 or 2 cc's. Best advice would be to discuss this with your surgeon.

Post-Op Pain Medication Question
I believe Vicodin is the most frequently used post-op pain reliever. It's important for you to list codeine as an allergy. It's not a rare allergy and your MD has many alternatives to relieve your pain. Don't worry!

lost nothing in 2 years
Can you give us some more info? How much did you start at? What size band?

How much to ask for today
I know how you feel. Until I got restriction on fill #3, I wondered what everyone thought was so great about the band. If you're able to eat anything, feel no restriction, and haven't lost weight it might be time to: 1. Measure and weigh foods 2. Log what you're eating 3. Get back to exercising 4. Get a fill that gives you proper restriction You started at a lower BMI so don't compare yourself to anyone. I learned that lesson myself. At 46, I'm not going to lose like younger people and I certainly don't lose like some people with BMIs as high as mine. Since I'm not in a race with anyone, I only have something to prove to myself. Talk to your surgeon and get that next fill. You'll be a loser again in no time. NEVER GIVE UP!

Still kicking
I'm the one who mistakenly called you "DeCarla" in the thread I think you're referring to. It's great that things are going well for you in the business industry and It's nice to see you're back posting.

How much to ask for today
It doesn't sound like you need a whole lot... maybe 0.5 cc's?

Warning!!!!!god Chat !!!!!
It's sad when people stoop to bashing people's religious beliefs but I guess some (not all) people feel a need to express their views in a less than diplomatic and respectful way. I see no problem with religious debate... as long as it's just that, a debate.

Oh my, what a treat for Melanie. I bet she's counting the days until she can feast on your half naked body. LOL. Hey, she's single... you never know.

Fill Needle
LOL, the game show host! I love it. One was done by Dr. Geiss, two was done by the male PA and three was done by Melanie. I go back in early Sept. for a check. Who did yours?

First Fill Questions
Fills are done based on the individual's experience with the band. If your weight loss has slowed, you feel little to no restriction, and you can eat solids with no problem in good sized portions, you're due for a fill. Some people "like" to be overfilled thinking it will make the weight loss faster. In effect, NOT being able to eat solids usually results in weight gain. As for the place, I would go where they are the best priced as long as they have a proven track record.

The Hardest Thread of My Life
Losing a pet IS losing a member of the family. I'm so sorry for your loss.

If you don't want to be offended then DO NOT open this thread. You have been warned!
I haven't read any post today but suspect there must be some negative threads out there for this one to be necessary. I worked a 12 shift last night and watched a young woman in the ICU die of terminal cancer while her husband begged her "not to go." I think people should just be glad for what they've got and live life to the fullest. You really don't ever know what day might be your last.

Fill Needle
After using a tiny subcutaneous needle (similar to insulin needle) was used to administer the lidocaine, a 19g 4" huber needle was inserted into the port to instill the saline. All 3 fills were painless and uneventful.

Whats for Dinner?
I'm doing oven "fried" tilapia. I take the filets and douse them in egg wash and then some seasoned bread crumbs. On a foil lined pan (easy clean-up), I spray some olive oil Pam and then lay the filets on top and give the tops of the filets a spray of the oil before baking at 400 degrees for 2-3 minutes. Flip over and bake another 2-4 minutes. I steamed some fresh green beans and some flavored rice and dinner is served.

got a fill - OUCH on my port! input?
It seems strange that they would hit a nerve but I guess anything is possible. I've had 3 fills and all were uneventful. Try putting some ice on the port and taking some tylenol.

Any O.N. or Graveshift workers?
I work 7 PM to 7 AM and exercise as soon as I get home. I have breakfast at 10 AM and go to sleep @ noon. Dinner is at 5 PM and then I pack a lunch to take to work and have that at 3 AM. On days off, I go back to a "normal" life.

Want To Hear About Your "smooth" Post-up Recovery
I went into surgery at 4:30 PM and was home the following morning at 11:00 AM. I don't do well with anesthesia and told them that before hand. I was medicated twice for nausea and then was fine. At home, I took pain medication the first night and then liquid Tylenol for 2-3 days post-op. I had no gas pains but the port area was very sore and I had to sleep flat on my back for a few weeks. It took a good 5 weeks before I could sleep on my left side. I felt very tired for the first 5 days but then improved quickly and went back to work after about 8 days.
