I can't discuss reported posts but they ARE addressed and evaluated by a team of people.

Hi Donna,
If your band is still working for you, stick with it. I tried really hard to make mine work but the reflux and not being able to sleep in bed or eat foods I liked was too much to live with.
The sleeve is what I would have had if I knew it existed when I was banded and I have no problem advising others to get it. Feel free to ask me anything about it.

I'm so glad that you're feeling better about your pending surgery. I'm sure you're going to do great and it's nice having you as a member.

I'm just glad that everything worked out for you and that you're feeling better. You had us worried. I suppose it's good and bad that WasA and I are both RNs. LOL. Your husband won't believe his eyes when you two see each other the next time.

Greetings!
Yes, I am an RN and I absolutely would have bypassed the band had I known more about the sleeve. Like the band, the sleeve is a restrictive surgery. There is no malabsorption like with DS and bypass because your intestines are not touched (nutrients are absorbed in the intestinal tract). I take the same vitamins I always have and just added a vitamin at night.
Once you go to solids, you take in more calories. I am eating between 700-1100 calories a day and average @ 800-900/day. I feel this surgery will allow me to get to goal and stay there but, for now, I'm taking it week by week. Traveling is no porblem. I traveled to and from Mexico alone.

I know Dr. Geiss VERY well and he did my surgery. I also know that he uses BOTH bands. Are you the NA/transporter who works in the PACU at Syosset Hospital?
