  1. I do understand that it's not cheating and I'm not having a go at anyone, it's my own mind that needs to get around it
  2. Yes in Australia we have the "Nutritional Guide" on everything... I'm just confused I think. I do realise it's a tool to help and I realise I'm going to have to work really hard as well. The thing is I'm not a HUGE eater but I do eat the wrong things, not all the time but I do and I'm honest with that. I also skip meals which I've stopped doing and make sure I eat Breakfast and all that kind of stuff. I guess I've gotta stop reading cause maybe that is what is driving me insane. I don't know lol
  3. So I was really keen to do this and I've booked in my first consultation for the 7th November (earliest I could get in) but now I'm not sure. Is it the "cheaters" way out? Am I giving up too easily? I just don't know. Should I focus on making sure I cut out all the crap in my diet and go exercising and I'll get the same results without surgery? Is it just simply about education? I was sitting here talking to my sister and we found out that the orange juice I'm drinking at the moment is MUCH worse than drinking the same amout in Coca Cola? What the hell?? I knew juice wasn't that good, but gosh I didn't realise it was that bad. It just looks better to drink the orange juice than the coke. I'm not dissing this idea, and I'm going to go and see the doctors, just so many thoughts running through my head. I guess my question is, how has the lap band helped you?
  4. I have thought a lot about plastic surgery and I don't know if I'll need it but if I do then I have no problems with paying for it. I'm making my initial consultation to get this done and although I'm a little nervous I am extremely excited tow aht will be the new chapter of my life
  5. Hi Leeanne, thanks for that, I'm getting an appointment in the next couple of weeks to talk about it all and see if it's right for me.
  6. Ahhh good, it's so hard for me to convert to pounds, I know it's roughly double to KG's :crying: Well you've given me hope, it's nice to hear positive ppl talk about it, I've read too much negative stuff... it's such a big decision. Were you're friends and family supportive etc?
  7. Thanks heaps for your support, I see you only got the operation very recently? And you've lost 40 pounds which is about 20kgs (we're KG's not Pounds here in Australia). I've got probably 50kgs, which would be around 100 pounds to hit my goal weight, so I really think it should be something I look into. I'm planning to have a consultation with a surgeon here in Australia to see exactly what it's all about and go from there. I have no idea how much it's gonna cost, so that might be something else that might have to make me wait depending. I was gonna PM you, but I don't know how lol
  8. Yeah, I guess we're a little more "keen" here, but when I read other forums here in Australia, it seems a lot of ppl just expect it to work and not have to put in any effort. I think also we don't have half as much junk food as you guys do. But trust me, we have enough. I'm not 100% sure this is the way to go, hence why I'm looking into it and trying to read as much as I can. I guess I'm more worried about the "pain" side of it, cause some ppl really go on and on about it, so I wonder if it's so bad... guess that is up to each person and how they deal with things I guess. I'm more of a "get on with it" type of person so I might be ok.
  9. Did your doctor say why this is? Seems very odd but hey, who am I to argue if it's better for us over here lol
  10. Hi, came across this site through doing some research on Lap Band sugery etc, and thought it might be one of the better places to get info. I've not booked in to get it done, I'm just looking into it at the moment, I'm really unsure what to do. All I know is that I need to loose the weight. So I know this is dominately an American site, but I figured you wouldn't mind me joining :crying: So hi!
