  1. Hi Everyone I had gastric sleeve surgery in 2019 and the result was amazing. Since then, I have been watching what I eat and how much I eat and when I eat. This self-discipline worked until in 2024 I lost my job through no fault of my own and on top of that there were family bereavements. With having lost my job along with it lost my home. Anyhow I'm now slowly getting back on track, but the hunger hormone ghrelin is raging havoc again and I'm beginning to pile the pounds on especially in the bloated stomach area. I have been to see the G.P and they prescribed multivitamins tablets along with a B12 injection every twelve weeks and had has also prescribed me 10 mg Citalopram (Anti - depressive tablet). I suggested to the G.P would I be eligible for Mounjaro and the clear answer was no! despite being a former type 2 diabetic and have struggled with my weight for years . I have started grazing and binge eating and need to suppress this hunger hormone. The Doctor has just referred me to the Mental Health Team and on to the BEAT (Beat Eating Disorder self-help group). This is all very well, but for the time being I feel I need 2.5 mg of Mounjaro for at least for 6 months to get back on track before my weight starts spiraling out of control. What's your thought on this ? PS: In the UK unless you are morbidly obese beyond belief the NHS will not prescribe any weight loss medication .
