Thank you all for your posts. I've been having such a hard time with my band. I've been very discouraged for the exact same reasons as you all mentioned. I've been eating around the band and not listening to it. On top of that, I HATE exercising and just plain don't want to do it. You've restored my motivation! I'm going to start listening to the band more and stop beating myself up about not wanting to exercise and count calories. I've tried to lose weight my entire life and was having a hard time thinking the band wasn't working for me at all because I was going to have to "diet" anyway. I'm going to continue to eat healthy, smaller portions and listen to what my friend, the band, is telling me. Thank you all very much for helping me even though you didn't know it!

I am looking for a buddy/mentor. I'm a 37 year old female living in VT with my husband and two children. I need to lose approximately 100 pounds. My surgery date is January 5, 2009 and I am on my 10-day liquid diet right now.
