after my six month it took about 2 weeks for me to get my date and confirmation from my insurance. i think it probably took longer because my dr forgot to include everything that the insurance company needed so my surgeon couldn't fax everything over right away. just try to keep on top of your dr with everything that they have to do. good luck on your journey.

Hey Miss, this is a struggle but worth everything we have to go through. I started this whole thing because of health issues and it scared me enough that I started to eat healthy before I even spoke to my insurance company about being banded. I have some easy days and some hard days. But I take it one step at a time, I figure I didn't gain all this weight overnight and I am happy losing it at a steady pace. Just keep yourself focused and you will do great.

Hi Rocklandguy,
I am responding to your email to me the other day about Dr. Schrope. I found Dr. Schrope through my insurance company, UHC. She has several docotors that work with her at the Ridgewood office, I just felt more comfortable with a woman. If you decide that you want them to do the procedure you will need to attend one of their free seminars then you would set up a time to meet with them. I had a great experience with Dr. Schrope. I was banded on 12/23/08 and each visit since then has been with Dr. Schrope, she knows who I am when I get there and remembers previous conversations that we have had regarding my diet, excercise and what I am feeling. The office staff has been great with all of the pre op and post op stuff that you need to deal with too. This has been the best decision that I have ever made and I am glad that she was the one that performed the procedure on me.
Wishing you luck on your journey.
