Do I have shopping dreams? Just take a look at my ticker! I have 3 e-shopping carts full of clothes I hope are still available as my sizes go down. I have more than a few dream outfits I want to wear. Here's a good one: a spagetti strapped maxi dress (maybe from Banana Republic) with some fabulous gladiator flat sandals. Yes, that's it. It doesnt sound like much, but when it fits the way it's meant to fit, it looks so good!

I've been sick with a bad cold for the last week (literally seven days). While it's gotten better, I am still very congested (head congestion). Im having a hard time breathing through my nose. Im taking mucinex extended release now to get rid of the congestion. Im getting nervous that I wont be rid of it by my surgery date next Thursday. It's only a week away. Will they put me under with all this head congestion? Of course, it's a very good possiblity I'll be totally over it by then, but I must say Im very anxious to get rid of it.

Surgery w/head congestion??
smilan replied to smilan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's what I thought. I may have to call my doc and see if she'll call something in. I would hate to have to go in after all these pre-op visits. Im sick of the co-pays. It's worth it though, if I dont get relief by tomorrow I'll go in on Friday. -
just testing my ticker

Any pre-surgery jitters????
smilan replied to ldeere2005's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just found out today that my surgery will be on April 2nd. Im so excited. I cant believe that I dont feel jittery. Like you all have said, jitters are normal, so Im sure I'll be feeling them soon, but for now Im cool. Very excited though. -
Did/Do you have to do a pre-op enema?
smilan replied to zeama's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That's right. My doc doesnt require a pre-op diet, but I do have to take Milk of Magnesia two days before surgery and be on clear liquids for two days prior to surgery. -
April 2nd! Whoo-Hoo!!

I have BCBS of GA. I want to know how much I can expect to pay for my fills. Is it a regular dr. appt. co-pay?
-
Well I dont have my official date yet. I was approved last week and it will be within 30 days of that, so yes I will be an April Bandster! I am very excited and surprisingly enough, not nervous.

Hey Precious. I just wanted to respond to your blog and give you a little encouragement. God would never punish you for your sins in such a heinous way. What some of us dont realize is that the natural consequences of our sins is punishment enough. God loves you and wants you to be the best you possible. He wants you to be healthy and confident. You have a testimony already that people need to hear - to know that they arent alone. Do you know how many overweight people have a story similar to yours? The other side of your story is what they need to hear. How you got banded and used it to get your life back. It isnt going to be easy, but it certainly isnt as hard as it was when you didnt have any help. Get your mind right baby. Eat better, work out consistently, and live your life to the fullest! That's what God wants. I'll be praying for you love.

Ok so for about a week now, Im seeing this mentioned more and more. So, is it something about the lap band in particular, or is it more the weight loss that makes us more fertile? Im saying us, even though I am not at all fertile. Im hoping that I will be one of the lucky ones with this side effect. How many of you who are pregnant, were having a hard time getting there before the band? I dont have PCOS, but I havent been able to get pg. I havent gone to any lengths to try (nothing medically supervised or induced). Im just wondering could this be a double blessing for me.

anyone have abnormal ekg and approved?
smilan posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My PCP did an EKG yesterday and it came back abnormal. So, she's sending me to the cardiologist for a stress test and another ekg. Im hoping and praying that its nothing serious. Has anyone else had an abnormal EKG and still been banded? -
Well.. Ill make the first post:)

I finish my appointments next week. My surgeon said it will take about 2 weeks to get approved and he's always booked one month out. I figure I should be in there early March! Whoo-Hooo!:tongue2: -
I would have to say As by Stevie Wonder. Some people think it's called I'll Be Loving You Always. Love, love, love that song!

Ok I read the post a while back about the "fat patch" which is essentially a hump of fat between the shoulder blades and below the neck. Yeah, I have that, but I also have a fat patch on my lower back just above my butt! Does anyone else have that? Is your sore? That patch took away the curve between my butt and my back. In fact, before I gained this weight my butt looked normal now since this fat patch has grown on top of it, it's totally flat! Just like the OP of the fat patch on her back - mine is sore. It is always sore if I push on it. I don’t know why. I really hope this is one of the first things to go once Im banded. That and the doggone back boobies!

What Are you DYING to Wear Once You Lose the Weight?
smilan replied to ItalianSoul's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love this conversation. Ok, I cant wait to wear knee high and probably even thigh high leather stilletos. Not the hooker kind - the superfly kind. I cant wait to wear Victoria's Secret negligees. I cant wait to wear a bustier w/skinny jeans and platform pumps. As you can see I've thought about this quite a bit. -
Im wondering who does my blood work? Is it when I go to the pulmonologist, or my PCP? Also, what are they looking for? Blood sugar, preganancy? I mean are there specific things that will hinder your approval? Obviously pregnancy would, but I mean exactly what are they trying to rule out? Also, what exactly will the pulmonologist do? I have a million questions, I should probably just go to the appts. and see what happens. I have this unquenchable desire to know exactly what is going to happen ahead of time.

Im hoping for the end of Feb. beginning of Mar. 2009. Congrats to everyone who has dates, and to all of us who dont yet - DONT DESPAIR WE'LL GET THERE!:tt1:

I have BCBS of GA. Overall, yes they do cover lap band. You have to make sure your company does not have an exclusion in your policy though. Call your HR rep. and ask about it.

Thanks for posting ladies. Jacqui it's good to know that your natural curves returned. That's what I really want to happen as I lose. I know that Ive been overweight for some time now, and everything wont look like it did 15 years ago. To know that some things will regain their original curve at least makes me feel better.
-
I could never post such a horrid thing as the fat patch on top of my butt! It's basically just a hump of fat that sticks out past whatever surfact it's on. Looking at me from the side there's an area just above my butt that sticks out. It's kind of rounded - a fat patch!

Surgery was today!
smilan replied to GratefulHeart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here's a question that I have been dying to ask...why the shoulder pain? I notice that a great deal of lb patients come home with it.
