I did, but this is not a magic wand, or the easy way out!! I lost 50 lbs pre op, and I spend about 2 hrs a day at the gym most days. this is just a tool, and you have to work the tool. Usually folks who have a lot to lose can lose quicker initially. I started out at 366 lbs. I wasnt aiming for a certain weight loss, just to develop good habits and routines...that has to be your goal. you didnt get overweight in 6 months, and its not realistic to think your problems will be solved in that time....it is all behaviour modification with the band...meaning you have to change what and how you eat, and how you move. baby steps!

Fad: a temporary fashion, notion, manner of conduct, etc., especially one followed enthusiastically by a group.
Diet: such a selection or a limitation on the amount a person eats for reducing weight
In my personal experience, everyone I know did Atkins temporarily enthusiastically. All of them lost weight then gained it back plus some after they stopped Atkins which gives further credit to it being a temporary manner of conduct for all the people I know who did Atkins.
Oh, and before anyone suggests otherwise - they were doing Atkins. Sure, they stopped doing Atkins but has anyone ever done Atkins forever?

The whole point of going through the lap-band journey is to not have to do those fad diets that don't work long term and really aren't very healthy. I think we all know that Protein is very important once banded, but at the end of the day it's about burning more calories than taking in..... Hve you talked to your surgeon as to why the weight loss isn't coming off as quickly as you'd like? Also, your weightloss is a success. Think about what you would've gained without the band!!!!

I have been banded for 2 years and I just started WW.....reason being accountability ......I modify the program a little bit to fit my band needs. They focus a lot on Fiber etc....I modify my points lower....and focus more on Protein etc. But I would recommend it !
