OMG Pam, that so sucks that a 10 cc band only holds 7 cc's!!! I had thought it was the other way around, that you can actually put 12 cc's in a 10 cc band. Yucko . . . . without these fills to jump-start my losing, I would be at like 1 lb. a month! Yay I bitched yesterday (and bitched, and bitched) but my scale dropped like 5 lbs. overnight!!!!! Yay. Now to maintain it . .. . I had gained QUITE a bit back with my NASCAR experience, I was 205 on the Kaiser scale yesterday and 199 on my scale this morning! It's at least 4 lbs. overnight . . bring on the liquid diet, I say!

I'll order a half-caf if I'm really dragging . . .any more than that tho (like a whole cup) and I am TWEAKED on it and I feel awful until it wears off! Big change for me - I had 2 quad-shot lattes every morning until January of this year :-)

I'm the one in Santa Rosa :-) I wish I wasn't up here alone, but it sure seems that way sometimes!!! Just has sweet & sour soup from the local chinese place, YUMMY now I am stuffed! And I could see through it, as long as i looked around the little pieces of eggflower and tofu LOL. Between that & the soy latte, who needs food??? hahahahaha

Oh they want us all to keep up with and encourage one another! It is one of the best indicators of success you know, right after losing weight before the surgery. We ARE their rockstars, they said so! Speaking of rockstars, I am so bummed that I missed the official Dr. Baggs rockstar greeting in the lobby this morning!!! Poor guy . . shy but loves it!!! My 2nd fill, I felt the funnel on my way home, by the next day I felt NOTHING, and then about 5-6 days after, WHAMMO and you remember, I was PBing several times a day for a week! He actually said that it happens a lot that way. Then I got to onderland and it stopped, then I went to NASCAR and partied for 5 days and gained some lbs. back! I was down 5# today from my last fill 5 weeks ago, I told him I start gaining again right before a fill, he says I am supposed to call him if that happens for a sooner fill! So we will see.

Also sad re: Farrah Fawcett & Ed McMahon! But I'm the old one here, LOL. I had my hair like hers, only darker obviously . . . OK so maybe I did go by starbcuks and get a decaf sugar free cinnamon dolce soy latte, which was maybe delicious at least the first half which is all i can drink without getting full! Avoiding anything like "full" liquids like the plague, but God I was SO starving!!! Much worse than the last 2 times, now why is that do you think?

I don't know why clear! In case it comes out our nose maybe?? He said clears before the fill, and I copped to having had a decaf soy latte this morning and he said THAT was fine . . . . . so maybe I will go have another one on my way home, LOL I am STARVING and at least my soymilk has 4 fiber & 9 protein so it fills me for a couple of hours.

Ha ha Tina, I would have DIED if he had given me 2 ccs!! Yes take all those clothes that you don't want right to the support group meeting, but I hope you find a few things 4 U in there! Thre is stuff that fits me weight-wise but not length-wise of whatever. And some stuff that's real cute to look at but just did not work for my coloring (or wrinkles, LOL!) Liz was a lot of fun today, Candra is lucky she gets to see the real Liz before she has even gotten to her CM appointment! I haved always liked that Liz myself  I AM STARVING can I eat the special K protein water or not?? is that a clear??

R U kidding me Reggie?? You are dropping weight like a Rock that had RNY!!!! Goodness girl, you body has to take a breathe sometime!! If you have 2 weeks worth of food logs, you can fax them to Robin & she will review them and give you ideas on how to break your plateau  Today was interesting! So how many let Liz do their fills?? Just Nicole?

Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder Candra - Lake Tahoe Marathon, Lake Tahoe Marathon Yey! I would love to have some of my lap-band girls sign up! I am sharing a room with 2 other girls, assuming they both go; so we got room for at least one more if you want to go with us ("Team Thrive") and share a room for cheap! !! We are staying both the night before (gotta acclimate to being that high!) and the night after (to party of course!! The healthy way, certainly, but healthy people can party big too!)

Thanks Candra! Boy am I ever gonna have to do something about all those wrinkles - I look like a Sharpei!!! I like the one with me, Nicole & Tina though - they make me look old, but at least I'm not squinting too! Thanks Christine - I love my haircut! I need color though; the water was off in the shop when I went in for the cut, so I never got the color - that reminds me, I'd better call my hairdresser right now!!

OMG ladies, I am STARVING!!! Does clear liquids include that Special K Protein Water?? At least it would do SOMEthing for this growling tummy . . . . diet jello worked for a few minutes, but it was TOUGHT to get down! Yahoo, restriction . . . . .

I am afraid to eat, I can gain that 2 lbs. back just by looking at food! You are not the only one scared of Robin ya know, Tina :bored: Good I am glad they open at 8 . . . still I will need a decaf coffee! But at least I will have somewhere to relieve my bladder, it is a constant thing with me, TMI I have not been at all sore after either of my fills, what is THAT all about?? I kept a band-aid on there with some antibiotic ointment for a day 'cause I am subject to infection, but no soreness to speak of . . . . thats weird Hey did you hear Kaiser SSF is doing the sleeve now??
-
Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
I was thinking to bring them in, Robin can ask us to wait until after - that is what we do at our support group - but not everyone can stay until the end. Hopefully whatever is left out of mine, someone can bring to the support group clothes exchange down there on Saturday! I am not looking to shop unless someone has 14's that are too big - probably that little Nicole woman :-)

OMG Christine, you both look TOTALLY different! You are gorgeous girl - and Bri is hot! What a great looking couple :-)

Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Goodness Tina, you don't really want 2 do you??!! Remember how miserable we were after our last fills?? We PB'd for days . . . . I want .5! But you are right, the more you have lost the less you will get, I have only lost about 2 this time so he might try to give me more than I want! It's not because i don't have restriction tho, its cause i have been breaking the rules!

Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Nicole you are so funny! Can't wait to see ya'll 1) I am NOT bringing a food log 2) I am 4 months out and I have NOT had any bloodwork done yet 3) I AM bringing 5 paper bags of nice clothes, 4 bagged by size from XL/16 to 22/24 and 1 just of nice jeans and pants, some of this stuff still has tags on it! I hope this does not piss Robin off, but I figure she told me it was a support group and I will just plead ignorance! We always have a clothes exchange at our support group meetings up here, LOL For those of you who have been to Pinole MOB, what's around it? IS there a Starbucks, maybe a drugstore that opens early? I am going to have to arrive really early to avoid the bad traffic on 101, which I can't avoid . . last time I had an early AM I spend 2 hours on 101 in my stick shift, my leg and abs were so sore! Right now I have a pulled muscle in my hip and it hurts BAD to shift (cause it's my clutch leg you see), so I can't spend any more time than I have to . . so I am leaving at 6:30 to make a drive thbat takes 1 hr 15 minutes without traffic, probablky 2 hours with. Lucky me. Still looking forward to it tho! SOmebody bring a camera so we can have a new group pic!!

Tamra, about being scared . . .I was FREAKED that I would die on that table, leave my 3 kids with no parents . . . at my pre-op class, Liz said that they have NEVER had anyone die on the table! I was SO relieved . . .then I used the "preparing for surgery" CD, you can download it for your ipod at the Kaiser site - and I was absolutely calm when I went in. Anyways, I just read this post http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f18/banded-today-doing-great-96928/#post1257720 and thought about you - that'll be you in just a little while! I could be totally wrong here - whicvh happens more than I'd likle tomadmit - but I don't think your Walnut Creek class is orientation, I think you have to go to Richmond or SSF for that. We have both what's called an "bariatric surgery overview" class that's 3 or 4 hours up here (Kaiser Santa Rosa), and a 14-week "preparing for bariatric surgery" class that was the best $160 I ever spent! I lost 43 lbs. during that 14 weeks . . . . My PCP told me that I had to complete the 4 hours class before he could refer me to Richmond for orientation, but I called Richmond and they said no, he could refer me at anytime but to stay and the santa rosa classes because those patients are the best prepared. So that's what I did! The local 4-hour class had used to be a requirement to get referred, but it's not anymore. I would encourage you to call Richmond and ask, get referred to their orientation as soon as you can, but stay in your WC class and get your official weight taken there. There is also the "patient information binder" resource from Kaiser Richmond that you can get online, it has the steps . . I think you can get it from the link on the left here Richmond Medical Center, Bariatric Surgery Best! Riley Christine if I get lost in the AM I'm gonna call you!!

Candra is right, we ARE the nicest/best/most wonderful thread on this Board! oh I forgot coolest, that too And that reminds me, the officials at Kaiser can't give out our names or emails or whatever to others going through this process because of confidentiality, but I was thinking that WE could . . . . there will be other folks at the fill appt. 2morrow that have not connected with us, right? I am thinking we should like make flyers or do a "support group membership roster" with our info and ESPECIALLY with links to this thread! I would be lost lost lost without all of you wonderful folks

Tamra, they will only do the surgery (& all the appoinmtnts that go with it) at 4 No Cal locations, and if they sent you to Richmond then stay with Richmond! Our wonderful Dr. Baggs is there :smile2:

Maybe its just me being dense, but . . .I think the 5-day pouch test is for RNY folks, not us bandsters. Liquids and soft proteins for 3 days defeats the band, it doesn't re-develop it . . . . the last 2 days are hard protein though, eating like that for 5 days would probably be a good thing! Very Atkins-esce

Hey Candra! I don't feel addicted to excercise right now, but i will get back going with my routine in the AM. Bread I don''t know, I am not wheat tolerant so I don't eat it anyways, it totally plugged up my band immediately! before it could dissolve I guess, LOL it was really gross. I PB'd a triscut out at the track, too. Glad to know I still can't eat that garbage! Yikes, my scale is rigged too . . . . I am only going to have a 2 lb weight loss since my last fill 5 weeks ago, that's not good! I need to show 5 lbs., a lb. a week at this point . . .boy do I miss those early 3 lb. a week days!!!

Hi Tamra welcome! Glad you are here :blushing: Don't let orientation scare you LOL, Liz is a sweetheart in disguise  I had to lose 30 lbs and lost 46, I did it pretty fast as you can see from my sig, used the 1200 diet and eliminated all of the starchy carbs - I think I am allergic to them! How much you have to lose depends on where you carry your weight, the doc will examine you and then set your pre-surg goal weight. Mine was around my middle to I had to lose a bit more, 10% is a good number you can pretty much count on.
