It sounds like you've been on quite the journey, and your persistence through that plateau really paid off. It’s so inspiring to see how listening to your body and making those small adjustments with your diet made such a difference. It takes a lot of trust in the process and faith in yourself to try eating more when every instinct says otherwise, but it clearly worked out well for you! It's amazing to hear how your body is responding with more energy and the positive changes you’re seeing in your clothes and measurements. I’ve been going through a bit of a journey myself, having hit some frustrating moments and uncertainties with shifting to new foods post-surgery. Just like you, I’m learning to listen to my body and trust that it’ll tell me what it needs. I’m also focusing more on not letting anxiety get the best of me and staying patient with the process. Getting your steps in, adding weights, and having clear personal goals is such a strong way to take control of your health! I recently got a fitness watch, and I’m slowly working up to more focused routines too. It’s so satisfying seeing the numbers tick up and knowing you’re getting stronger day by day. I just switched to a split workout routine because I realized it fits better with what my body needs right now. The key seems to be finding what works for you, just like you've been doing. Also, it must feel fantastic to be buying clothes two sizes down! I'm excited for you—I remember not too long ago feeling that looseness in my own clothes and needing to size down. Those milestones are proof of all the hard work you’re putting in, even if the scale doesn’t always cooperate right away. It’s motivating to hear about your experience, and it’s a reminder that we’re not alone in this. Keep going, be gentle with yourself, and continue doing what feels right for you! -

Yes I am over that one meal! U guys made me feel better about it.. it's funny how we know everything that we read like on Google or on these forums but yet still need more reassurance. I believe that I definitely need support mentally and yes I have a standby counsellor but I am waiting for my appointment because I think I can get free sessions.. so let's see. If she doesn't give me any sessions then I might schedule some. One session is like 78 USD.. I wonder how much are counselling session there? But it might be worth it to be honest to have a one on one with someone . -

You’re right, I should probably work on realistic thinking and challenging irrational beliefs, but honestly… I was hungry. When I replay my whole day, I don’t think I ate enough. It’s just… all of this is so much harder to practice than it sounds. I know everything you’re saying, but I’m struggling so much to actually do it, and it’s really frustrating. -

I am literally having a panic attack now.. I feel guilty because I was hungry and decided to eat! That's it! I had rice and a minced chicken curry. It was a good portion but I feel so so guilty because it was my 2nd dinner.. i simply cannot continue living like this.. the guilty and panic of overeating or regaining and i didn't even lose the weight to be begin with. I pass infront of the mirror and I just feel fatter! -

That sounds like a great decision! When I started my own classes, I was just as nervous. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to keep up, but I just did my own thing at my own pace. You’d be surprised at how much your body can handle, especially now that you're feeling lighter. You won’t know you're ready until you try, and I bet you’ll do amazing! Worst case, you take a few extra breaks—no shame in that. Just have fun with it and see how you feel. -

Hi hi 👋 After my 1 month post op, my surgeon actually told me to go ahead and do whatever I wanted workout wise! He said I've healed internally and externally.. I joined the gym and started with cardio and swimming and then some weights and joined some aerobics classes.. to be honest, I am doing it all but I am not pushing myself and I listen to my body. So I did a class 2 days ago and I was on the lowest weight and took many breaks and still burnt almost 400 calories in 60 mins. So I suggest u listen to your surgeon then your body! And I am now 2 months post op fyi -

Ahh we got a storm warning and everything was cancelled (school and work including) Going to wait for the rescheduled appointment 🥲 but we are all safe, it was just a heavy rain with winds for like 30 mins. But might come back in a few hours. -
Hi Ladies, I’m almost 6 weeks post-op from my gastric bypass. I started at 109.5 kg, and now I’m at 98.6 kg, so I’ve lost about 10 kg. While my nurse and doctor mentioned that I could’ve lost more by now, they said it’s still not bad. Honestly, it didn’t make me feel great, but a loss is a loss, right? I find myself comparing my progress with others, mostly with sleeve patients, which I know isn’t fair. So, I’m here in the bypass forum to hear from others with success stories. Shouldn't the most weight loss happen in the first 2-3 months, and then it slows down? Right now, I’m losing around 1 kg per week, which I know is healthy, but I keep feeling like I should be losing more, and then I panic, wondering if I’m overeating. I’m on a 1200-calorie plan with 8-10 small meals a day. I haven’t been able to stick to the 10 meals, but I do my best to hit 8, and they’re all balanced. My workout routine has been almost non-existent, but I joined the gym TODAY, so that will change! I just need some reassurance that I WILL lose the weight and that I’m not going to fail like I have in the past with weight loss.

Hahaha goals! I can't wait 😍 Thanks skinny 😉

I have my two-month post-op appointment coming up, and I want to make the most of it. I’d love to hear any questions you think I should ask my team about my recovery, nutrition, exercise, or anything else that might be relevant. I am compiling so it would be a good reminder! hehe Your insights would be super helpful! Thanks in advance for your support! -

It sounds like you’ve been through quite a journey, and it's commendable that you're taking such an active role in your health now. The feelings of frustration and sadness you experienced after your sleeve surgery are completely valid, especially considering how much effort you put into your lifestyle changes. Many people feel that the sleeve doesn't provide the same metabolic impact as other surgeries, which can lead to feelings of disappointment when expected results don't materialize. Your decision to pursue the SADI is a brave step, and it’s great to hear that you’re feeling more supported this time around. Finding healthier foods that you enjoy and integrating exercise into your routine are essential for long-term success. It’s understandable to have fears about regain, but it’s important to focus on the progress you’re making towards a healthier lifestyle rather than fixating solely on numbers on a scale. Setting realistic goals is crucial. It’s okay not to hit your ideal weight as long as you’re feeling healthier and more energetic. Remember that every step you take towards better health counts, and it's wonderful that you’re prioritizing your well-being over just weight loss. Celebrate the positive changes, no matter how small, and lean on your support network—they can be a powerful motivator! You're doing an amazing job, and your journey is inspiring to others. Keep pushing forward, and remind yourself that it's all about the journey to a healthier you! Thank you for sharing! -

You're probably right; the InBody is likely more accurate than the smart scale, but it’s definitely not 100% either. I totally get where you’re coming from—I’ve also decided to move on from stressing about the numbers. I think I might be barely hitting my protein intake, and that could be part of the issue. Honestly, I feel like I should just be snacking on chicken breast to get those numbers up! I appreciate the reminder about protein and carbs; it’s helpful to know that our needs can change with activity levels. It sounds like you’re really on top of things with your goals. Keeping track of our intake can be tough, especially with everything else going on! f you don’t mind sharing more about your regain, I’d love to hear about it! I understand if it’s too personal, though. I’ve also been curious about why it seems more common to regain after sleeve surgery compared to bypass, especially since so many people still opt for the sleeve despite bypass being around longer. What do you think contributes to that? Thanks for any insights you can share! -

The InBody test measures body composition using bioelectrical impedance, which can give you an idea of your muscle mass, fat percentage, and water levels. It's more precise than handheld devices but not as accurate as a DEXA scan.(pic attached) However, I’m not really bothering too much with it since the fat gain it shows is pretty minimal. I’ll just make some adjustments to maintain my muscle mass. cant wait for my app to confirm all these questions with my team. Gym staff might have good intentions, but they’re not as trained as medical professionals as u said. It’s always better to get advice from someone who understands the bigger picture. -

Ah 2 weeks ago I did an inbody test and today I did it again to just see if I am going in the right direction. Well, I've lost "weight" but I think i only lost water and muscles I'm down 1 kg muslce and actually gained 300g fat! Ahhhhhh why does everything have to be complicated? The coach in the gym told ne to up my protien and take PT classes to focus on building strength and muscles but is she right or is she just trying to sell her services? I'll sit n discuss with my team on the 15th and decide what to do. On another note, I tried the power stretch class today and I stretched muscles didn't know existed hahaha it was amazing but tiring like I burnt almost 400 cals. P.s. attaching my 2 weeks and today inbody results -

It's amazing how during the week, your weight fluctuates really badly like 2kgs up but one week exactly on the official weigh in. I am 1 kg down! 96.7 kg today! I really thght my loss would've been faster like at least 2kgs a week but I'm happy! Less loose skin, more sustainable so yay -

It's totally understandable to feel frustrated, but remember that your body is still healing and adjusting. Even though the scale might not be moving as quickly as you'd hoped, you're still making progress. Plateaus can happen, but they don't mean you're doing anything wrong. You're walking more, eating much less, and that's all positive. Just make sure you're eating enough to fuel your body properly and getting the right nutrients. It’s a slow and steady journey, and every small step counts! Be patient with yourself, and know that you're doing amazing!
