  1. hi, my son had lap-band surgery and has gone the other way. he has lost weight...i can see that, but he weighed 460 lbs and still eats A LOT. my mother policed my food intake for years, so i know that only makes an eating disorder worse. he had his first fill a couple of weeks ago and told the doctor to put just a little saline in the ring. i paid 300.00 for the shot and it appears that he put such a little amount in, my son can eat all he wants. i hope it doesnt appear that i am concerned about the money; im not, but i am concerned about his health. he was banded in august. please help me so i wont turn into a co-dependent (of which i already am but am fighting it). as far as not being able to eat, i would ask your doctor to determine if he made the esophagal have too much stricture. my son complains of not being able to swallow, but that is a thought about your condition. please let me know how you are doing.
  2. my son just had lap band surgery a month ago, today. he is eating large portions of food and now i am concerned that the pouch is not small enough. i told him to think about going for a refill in a couple of months. i can empathize with you, though. i had a roux n y in 2002 and lost a whopping 75 lbs and gained back 17 in the next 3 years. by attending a 12-step program (overeaters anonymous) i lost the 17 lbs and an addl 25 lbs. i am a food addict...especially refined sugars and white flour. i would advise you to go to your doctor and tell him exactly what you've written here. take note cards, if you have to, but you paid (or your insurance paid) for weight loss, so you deserve it!
