  1. Hi All November Knockouts!!!

Today is my 1 year band-a-versary!!! I have to admit that I have been a little stuck for a few months, but am getting back on track. I can't believe I am 3 lbs from a total of 100lbs!!! I think I could've done it, but I'll blame it on Halloween:drool:.....lol!!! I hope everyone's journey has gone and continues to go well!!!

    Cheers!!!!

  2. Way to go!! 20lbs down. Remember how hard it was to get off 20lbs off before? (I'm assuming you struggled like me). My first check up is Wednesday. I'm looking forward to getting the ok to move on to mushies. Tired of Soup already. How are you feeling? All soreness gone? Can you feel the band?

Thanks!!! It was so hard to get 20 lbs off before the band and it feels great to get rid of those 20. I feel like I'm back to normal. There is no soreness and I have no restriction, just will power. I'm going back for my first fill in two weeks. I can't wait. I feel like I can eat way more, but decide not to. How is your progress? I hope everything is going well for you and that your follow-up goes smoothly.

  3. Hi all!

Surgery Day was yesterday, so I am officially banded!

Went in at 6:30AM. Surgery started promptly at 8. I remember looking at the clock in recovery and it was 9:09. At 11:30, I had an upper GI. Everything looked good. Pain wasn't too bad at that time, but I was definitely juiced up!

Went back to surgery suite after upper GI and was allowed to leave at 1:00. The pillow on the belly definitely helped during the 2 hour car ride home.

Gas pains were pretty bad. I was taking the Gas X strips as suggested on here, but DR said they only help bowel gas and since the gas was in my body cavity, they wouldnt help. But I'm taking them anyway! :scared2:

Home pain med is Dalotid (sp). Takes the edge off but thats about it.

I have 5 incisions and the one I assume is the port (about 4 inches above belly button) is CRAZY BAD PAINFUL!

I slept pretty well last night on my back, even though I am a side sleeper. Getting up and down is the worst - like my stomach muscles have been beaten and shredded and stabbed. Wait - they have! Seriously, stomach muscle pain is BAD. Took me a good 5 minutes to get out of bed.

Not so bad just sitting around. And once I am up and moving, I am ok, as long as I hunch a little.

Words of advice - definitely bring chapstick and a small pillow and SUPER STRETCHY pants - like pjs 3 sizes too big! And ask for ice chips immediately. Throat hurt from intubation, but is almost normal today.

I was able to get down about 15 ounces thoughout yesterday afternoon/evening. Today, I've had 11 oz Protein shake and am working on clear liquids now. I feel like I'm constantly drinking!

I hope the stomach pain begins to subside soon....

Good luck to all as their surgeries approach! Hard to believe it's over!

I'm glad everything went well. I hope you bounce back to your healthy self soon!!!!

  4. Hope thats how it works for me...lol. Well I don't have a scale at home so I think it might be a good idea on not buying a new one, like you I don't want to become obsessed w/ it.

Glad your doing so well...I won't have my f/u until December 4th.

Not sure what time your surgery is tomorrow, but good luck and keep me posted on your healthy and speedy recovery:thumbup:!!!!

  5. Wow, your process went pretty fast too. How are you doing so far? Your about 2 weeks ahead of me.

I've been doing great!! I took off two weeks to rest, but really only needed a couple of days. I was walking the day after surgery and have been doing so ever since. I don't know how much weight I've lost yet; don't want to become OC on weighing in as I know I will if I start. Won't know until Thursday, my follow up visit, and can't wait!!!

  6. I got my lil' packet from my surgery on Tuesday for my pre-op appointment. Woo hoo!

I've already gone through the process of tests, doctors appointments and insurance clearance. It began on September 9th with a consult and I'm finally getting my surgery on November 17th!

I am so excited and nervous at the same time...since I've never had a major surgery.

Can't wait to get know others on here going through the same thing or who have been there.

Congrats!!! You'll be banded before you know it. Good Luck:thumbup:

Welcome glittergirl!!! I hope everything goes well for you. Read around and enjoy!!

  8. Thanks Soon2B.....I just need to figure it all out! How did you do your stats (weight/date chart)? thanks

I got my weight ticker from tickerfactory.com. Once you compile one here, you can upload it to your signature here. To get to your signature, you can go to the quick links tab at the top and under the user control panel, select edit signature. Once you get to your signature page, you can upload your ticker in the upload box below the text box and either before or after, type your information and dates in the text box. There is a great thread on here that is more specific and detailed and would be very helpful. Just search for “ticker” or “ticker help” and you should find it. Again, congrats and welcome!!!!

  9. I am 10 days Post Op, and doing well... I have a massage appt and chiropractor appt tomorrow morning, have any of you close to the same preop out days tried to lay on your tummys? I am wondering if I should just have her do reflexology on me instead.

I can lay on both sides with no problem and is almost able to lay on my stomach without a prop, my leg. I can lay on it for a while as long as I put a pillow over my port. I hope it won't be long now until I am able to lay on my tummy with ease, since that is my favoriate sleeping position.

  10. Okay so today's the DAY!!!!!!!!! :) I leave in half an hour to the hosp to prep me before my surgery at 12:30... I've not been this nervous ever in my life. But I'm also excited for my life to change soon! :) LOVE YOU guys!!! :)

Thank you all for your support. <3 <3 <3 see y'all on the flip side!

    :tongue2:

I hope everything went smoothly. Let us know how you are doing.

  11. I am so excited to begin my new life I was on another forum but got discourage by all the people stating I could not successfully lose the weight with my BMI being over 50, but I passed that aside and found you guys and what inspiring journeys you have all lead to being successful. I have done the research for many years and finally got the green light from my insurance and the powers that be. I do believe the LAP-BAND® is the best choice for me because if God wanted my stomach and intestines to be routed like a highway map than he would of done so, I am a firm believer this will work for me and I know its not a "quick fix" but a tool to help me reach my healthier me :cursing: I am so glad I found this site which is all about the bands. I look forward to all the tips, support and knowledge from everybody.

Thanks for reading this and have a great day:thumbup:
