  1. I have to admit, I have had the same kind of experience with my GP! They've messed up my meds a few times, ones that I NEED post-surgery, and they have just been awful with communication. I completely understand your frustration and anxieties around this. With that being said, with a loud mouth (I have my dad to thank for that), and a lot of persistence, I have been able to resolve things ? I also got my bariatric team involved, and they were able to issue letters to my GP to get things moving along, so always speak to your team if you are worried. It will all work out ❤️
  2. That is honestly an amazing loss! I think the key thing to remember here (as others have said) is that we are all different - our bodies all have their own individual quirks, different metabolic set points & needs, so one persons weight loss may be +/- than yours, and that is normal! I have been speaking to this lovely person who had the same surgery as me, same surgeon, PCOS & everything, just the day before me. Her start weight was a little lower so I fully expected to lose weight at a quicker rate than her, but it was the opposite way around! I remember feeling a little upset that I wasn't keeping up with my peers, but I really had to check myself to remind myself that 1) it isn't a competition, and 2) my body is losing at the rate it needs to. You are doing amazingly, be proud of yourself! Celebrate every win, no matter how small
  3. What a fine man he is, with great taste in tea! ? Like everyone says though, it can mean you get more dehydrated but I think so long as you aren't ONLY drinking tea, it should be fine haha. I think the decaf isn't bad at all from what I can remember! Thank you! I am finding it okay! I had a little bit of a stall, but that is expected! But I am just happy to be feeling better!
  4. Congratulations on your loss so far! On the topic of tea - I know that everyone gets different recommendations, but I was told to either have weak or decaf tea in the first 3 weeks, and then after that I was okay! I have been having tea and coffee as normal now! Yorkshire Tea is best though ?
  5. I'm officially on a stall ? been stuck at the same weight for a week or so now! It's frustrating, but I know it'll pass!
  6. @ms.sss I do love an ice-breaker ? must be the manager in me ? That sounds so nice - I have never tried lobster before but I am dying to! I am rather impressed that you had to open and clean it yourself, very skilled haha. It is a shame you had to miss out on yoga, but definitely for the best after eating the lobster! Hope the rest of your week is good
  7. @AmberFL Congratulations on your NSV, it is certainly a massive one! Really impressive I am glad your week got off to a good start
  8. @SleeveToBypass2023 That is an awesome work-out! And I can't imagine how excited you must be to get back into your routine after being stuck at home, I am sure you will have the best time! Ughhh I think I will probably have to book in to see my GP if it continues being low/high! It is so irritating haha.
  9. @NickelChip I am so glad to hear your stall has broken and you are back on the track you want to be on! That is such an amazing loss, well done - I bet you are over the moon! I empathise with this! I think the changes in weather have lots to do with it, I find myself eating more salad than anything at the moment! Good news on the hydration though! So happy to hear of all your wins, it really is inspirational! I hope you have the best time on your family vacation ❤️
  10. @JennyBeez That sounds like a really good routine and as if it is something you genuinely enjoy, which is always good! I am going to look to get a gym membership tomorrow (I hope), but I just need to find somewhere that isn't so busy that you can't get on any machines! I imagine I will probably have to end up going early in the morning or late at night! I'll definitely keep using it - my mum will get sick of me asking eventually haha! It is so good you have such a pro-active team though, keeps us in line I feel you on that one ❤️ I had my first period in years! and it kicked my ass for sure!
  11. @JennyBeez That is definitely the right way to go with it! I am so used to doing weights when I am at the gym, so it will be really weird going in and focusing on cardio (which I bloody hate), and body weight! What kinds of light exercises do you do? Definitely take it easy lovely! I am sorry to hear that your weekend wasn't great - sometimes everything comes all at once doesn't it? We are our own worst critics, and definitely see things 10000x worse on ourselves, as others may perceive them. Just make sure to get some self-care time in and remind yourself of how far you have already come ❤️ You got this x I haven't even had an appointment with my Dr yet - I don't think I am due to until 3 months post-op! But I did use my mum's blood pressure machine yesterday and it was ever so slightly high which is strange! I will be extra careful when standing for sure - and even more so when exercising, I don't want to pass out ?
  12. I just wanted to pop by and say well done for your loss, and also for all the hard work you are putting in for yourself, that takes determination and grit ❤️
  13. Happy Monday everyone! I just wanted to start a post to just check-in and see how everyone is doing, regardless of what stage we are at, pre or post surgery I feel that after complaining that I wasn't feeling full, now that I am on proper food, I am feeling it, and boy is it a struggle ? On the plus side, I feel a lot better in myself already, and I am going to go back to the gym! Just body weight stuff and light cardio to begin with, and maybe 2-3 times a week. I notice that I am getting dizzy spells lately, probably due to struggling with eating much, so I will be mindful of that! I've had some people comment on my weight loss already - which admittedly was quite nice - they were friends and I don't mind hearing it from them, but they were just proud of me regardless, which made me feel quite good. I hope everyone is doing well ❤️
  14. Thank you so much It definitely does feel like that doesn't it - I just had to have a real talk with myself like...you're 28...do something about it and stop wasting time! ? Ahhhh yes I remember having some scrambled eggs for the first time after surgery and it was heaven ?
  15. I am so glad that you made this decision for yourself, sometimes it is the hardest thing to do. I remember getting to the point where I just shut myself indoors and I couldn't face going outside, and I also was in so much pain just from short walks. There is always a turning point isn't there! Super proud of you and all you have achieved and that you are feeling so much better already. I only just started eating 'proper' food again as of two days ago and it is surreal to be chewing again, and a bit scary! But damn food tastes good again ? You got this ❤️
  16. Honestly this has been the absolute bane of my life. I am 4 weeks post-surgery and although I seem to be having a bowel movement every day or every other day, I was so so constipated. TMI here but It got to the point that I had an anal fissure and was passing blood every time I had a bowel movement. Needless to say, I am taking daily Dulcolax now and I will be doing so until I am able to eat more & include more fibre in my diet.
  17. Ooo yes I am interested in this! I bought myself an air fryer and I am so excited to use it!
  18. Sounds like you'll definitely be approved by the looks of their wording!
  19. Thank you all for the advice, it is really appreciated After all that, I ended up having a really high restriction day yesterday! Couldn't finish my food, and had the hiccups after 5 tsps of soup ? I am definitely going to take it slow when I can eat 'normal' foods tomorrow - I just want to get it right haha.
  20. I hope you find the answers you are looking for
  21. That is completely fine! So my bypass was around £12,100 and I pay it in monthly instalments for the next 60 months. So I paid a 5k deposit (you only need 10% minimum I believe for their finance), and my monthly payments are £150. I thought I couldn't afford it privately in the UK until I realised finance was an option, and it was affordable for me so I just went for it. I spent a while on the NHS waiting list and it was awful!
  22. Heya! I am also in the UK and I had a gastric bypass almost 4 weeks ago, privately with Simon Monkhouse. I'd advise making booking a consultation with Simon (it is free!) and just getting some advice there! https://www.simonmonkhouse.com/ I honestly cannot recommend him enough
  23. I love a good discount code ?I swear I have stocked up on so many of their protein snacks which I am excited to try - also I went to Icelands and they have done a crossover with MyProtein and they have loads of food in there! The chocolate ice cream is AMAZING, and if you are having a bypass and need to stay under 7g of sugar per 100ml/g then it is perfect! Honestly I am SO struggling to find unflavoured protein powder - I think I am a bit like you in the sense when I smell something and it makes me gag, I really cannot drink it, and I have yet to find something that suits me
  24. Just as a side note for protein water - I use MyProtein which is a UK based store (and they always seem to have sales on!), and their clear whey protein isolate is lovely. So many different flavours - I have peach tea and also the watermelon one, and it is really nice!
  25. @NickelChip I imagine that is probably the case! On Wednesday I will be able to return to normal foods, but I am a bit apprehensive as to how to even start that!
