4 nights away need inspiration
Bypass2Freedom replied to Donah C's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Heya! I can imagine you are probably feeling all kinds of nervous right now which is completely normal! When I went home after 2 nights in the hospital, I was definitely tired so I prioritised my rest if I am honest! 1) To be honest, I didn't! I drank as much as I could but I know I was under my 2l target, and honestly at that point so soon after surgery, it is really hard to drink 😅 Well, for me anyway! Just remember that it is only temporary and as the weeks go on, it will get easier to reach those targets! Prioritise your rest if you need it, and then every time you wake up, have some sips of water. 2) Genuinely, I didn't feel hungry at all post-surgery, and even now I feel only vaguely hungry and that has only just started returning. As @Arabesque said, it will more than likely be head-hunger so finding a distraction will be ideal! 3) You can do this Just remember your reasons why and the rest will follow. -
Update! How is everyone?

I second this 🤣 -
So I am around 6 weeks post surgery I think! Seems like it has been so much longer! I have found that my restriction recently has been annoyingly high. I just have 0 interest in eating, and when I do take a bite it takes a while for me to get into it - I feel full quickly, which was something I wasn't struggling with a couple of weeks ago! I have started going back to the gym as of last week, and I am nervous but excited. Quickly realised my body is a lot weaker than it used to be 😅 I did 3 x 10 sets of squats and was walking like a cowboy for 4 days 🤣 I want to try swimming but I am nervous about wearing a swimming costume if I am honest, even though I can tell my clothes are bigger on me! Which is another thing...stuff just isn't fitting right! I was excited for this part, but I didn't think it would be annoying 😂 I can't wait to buy new stuff! Thanks for reading my useless waffle ❤️

An Up And Down Week
Bypass2Freedom replied to MrsFitz's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Stalls are literally the worst 😂 I am trying to keep that same mindset - once my body has recalibrated, it'll go back to losing, but the devil side of my brain is telling me: "weigh yourself after a bowel movement" 😂 Send help 💀 -

Weight gain three weeks post op
Bypass2Freedom replied to TwinkleToes87's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Heya! I have an underactive thyroid & PCOS and I am about 5-6 weeks in now I think? I can't even keep track at this point 😂 But I definitely have been going through a stall! I went from losing 3+ lbs in a week, to just staying still give or take 1 lb. It is very very frustrating, but it is just our body trying to recalibrate and it'll soon realise it isn't in danger of starvation, and it'll stop holding onto everything and weight loss will resume! -
Micky-take: to tease/make fun of. Like someone just taking the piss out of you or laughing at you at your expense etc. Whinging: complaining Us Brits have weird sayings sometimes 😂

I have to admit, I have had the same kind of experience with my GP! They've messed up my meds a few times, ones that I NEED post-surgery, and they have just been awful with communication. I completely understand your frustration and anxieties around this. With that being said, with a loud mouth (I have my dad to thank for that), and a lot of persistence, I have been able to resolve things 🤣 I also got my bariatric team involved, and they were able to issue letters to my GP to get things moving along, so always speak to your team if you are worried. It will all work out ❤️

Am I behind?
Bypass2Freedom replied to Scaredloser's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That is honestly an amazing loss! I think the key thing to remember here (as others have said) is that we are all different - our bodies all have their own individual quirks, different metabolic set points & needs, so one persons weight loss may be +/- than yours, and that is normal! I have been speaking to this lovely person who had the same surgery as me, same surgeon, PCOS & everything, just the day before me. Her start weight was a little lower so I fully expected to lose weight at a quicker rate than her, but it was the opposite way around! I remember feeling a little upset that I wasn't keeping up with my peers, but I really had to check myself to remind myself that 1) it isn't a competition, and 2) my body is losing at the rate it needs to. You are doing amazingly, be proud of yourself! Celebrate every win, no matter how small -
What a fine man he is, with great taste in tea! 😂 Like everyone says though, it can mean you get more dehydrated but I think so long as you aren't ONLY drinking tea, it should be fine haha. I think the decaf isn't bad at all from what I can remember! Thank you! I am finding it okay! I had a little bit of a stall, but that is expected! But I am just happy to be feeling better!
-
Congratulations on your loss so far! On the topic of tea - I know that everyone gets different recommendations, but I was told to either have weak or decaf tea in the first 3 weeks, and then after that I was okay! I have been having tea and coffee as normal now! Yorkshire Tea is best though 😍

I'm officially on a stall 😅 been stuck at the same weight for a week or so now! It's frustrating, but I know it'll pass! -
Happy Monday everyone! I just wanted to start a post to just check-in and see how everyone is doing, regardless of what stage we are at, pre or post surgery I feel that after complaining that I wasn't feeling full, now that I am on proper food, I am feeling it, and boy is it a struggle 😂 On the plus side, I feel a lot better in myself already, and I am going to go back to the gym! Just body weight stuff and light cardio to begin with, and maybe 2-3 times a week. I notice that I am getting dizzy spells lately, probably due to struggling with eating much, so I will be mindful of that! I've had some people comment on my weight loss already - which admittedly was quite nice - they were friends and I don't mind hearing it from them, but they were just proud of me regardless, which made me feel quite good. I hope everyone is doing well ❤️

Monday Check-In
Bypass2Freedom replied to Bypass2Freedom's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@ms.sss I do love an ice-breaker 😂 must be the manager in me 😅 That sounds so nice - I have never tried lobster before but I am dying to! I am rather impressed that you had to open and clean it yourself, very skilled haha. It is a shame you had to miss out on yoga, but definitely for the best after eating the lobster! Hope the rest of your week is good -

@SleeveToBypass2023 That is an awesome work-out! And I can't imagine how excited you must be to get back into your routine after being stuck at home, I am sure you will have the best time! Ughhh I think I will probably have to book in to see my GP if it continues being low/high! It is so irritating haha. -

Bypass2Freedom replied to Bypass2Freedom's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@NickelChip I am so glad to hear your stall has broken and you are back on the track you want to be on! That is such an amazing loss, well done - I bet you are over the moon! I empathise with this! I think the changes in weather have lots to do with it, I find myself eating more salad than anything at the moment! Good news on the hydration though! So happy to hear of all your wins, it really is inspirational! I hope you have the best time on your family vacation ❤️ -

Bypass2Freedom replied to Bypass2Freedom's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@JennyBeez That sounds like a really good routine and as if it is something you genuinely enjoy, which is always good! I am going to look to get a gym membership tomorrow (I hope), but I just need to find somewhere that isn't so busy that you can't get on any machines! I imagine I will probably have to end up going early in the morning or late at night! I'll definitely keep using it - my mum will get sick of me asking eventually haha! It is so good you have such a pro-active team though, keeps us in line I feel you on that one ❤️ I had my first period in years! and it kicked my ass for sure! -
Monday Check-In
Bypass2Freedom replied to Bypass2Freedom's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@JennyBeez That is definitely the right way to go with it! I am so used to doing weights when I am at the gym, so it will be really weird going in and focusing on cardio (which I bloody hate), and body weight! What kinds of light exercises do you do? Definitely take it easy lovely! I am sorry to hear that your weekend wasn't great - sometimes everything comes all at once doesn't it? We are our own worst critics, and definitely see things 10000x worse on ourselves, as others may perceive them. Just make sure to get some self-care time in and remind yourself of how far you have already come ❤️ You got this x I haven't even had an appointment with my Dr yet - I don't think I am due to until 3 months post-op! But I did use my mum's blood pressure machine yesterday and it was ever so slightly high which is strange! I will be extra careful when standing for sure - and even more so when exercising, I don't want to pass out 😅 -
I just wanted to pop by and say well done for your loss, and also for all the hard work you are putting in for yourself, that takes determination and grit ❤️

Thank you so much It definitely does feel like that doesn't it - I just had to have a real talk with myself like...you're 28...do something about it and stop wasting time! 😂 Ahhhh yes I remember having some scrambled eggs for the first time after surgery and it was heaven 😍
