Over the years I had managed to starve myself into weight loss 3 separate times. Invariably I gained all the weight back and then some. Now that I'm older I haven't been able to starve any more. I was maxed out on Metformin and was insulin dependent. My father died at 69 from diabetes, and as I am 62 I knew something needed to change. I decided on Gastric Bypass. I was taken off my diabetic meds immediately, and so far I have lost 11 pounds post op (5 days). My only issue has been heartburn but it is getting better. My doctor advised  Pepcid Chewables and they seem to help alot!  I'm really excited about changing my life and teaching this old dog some new tricks to a healthy future. I'm looking forward to my next cruise in February! I might even wear a bathing suit.
