  1. :lol:Where the heck is everyone? I have not been here for a long time. Note my ticker. I am so happy with my progress. I have been very very busy. I go to Water aerobics 3 mornings a week, and boogiesize 2 mornings a week. The last time I went in for a fill was the smallest wt loss ever 4 lbs. I blame girl scout cookies. I will never buy a cookie again. I found out that they go down very very easy. It only took a day to eat the whole box. I had not tried anything like that since being banded. Whooee it goes to prove that you still have to eat it right.:sneaky:
  2. We were told to sip sip sip. They don't want you to get too full of liquids. Then no drinking anything 1/2 hr before and 1/2 hr after you eat. So you don't wash a lot of stuff down. Remember you are chewing and chewing. Just made good sense to me. We 2 sets of nutritional classes before the liquid and before the surgery so we would know what to do before and after the surgery
  3. I go back in on Jan 17, and then they will decide on a fill. That is me too, I am so afraid to over do and get to full. I have seen some people who have not had to be banded on this website, and they still lose.

  5. That is a great website. I to am hooked on the flavored coffee's. I also use the unflavored protein powder. Unjury sells it. For use in my herbal tea's. I have not tried the chai tea's yet, but I am going to. Louise
  6. Banded on Nov 24, 2008 Hey this here girl is doing great. I never really feel hungry, so that is great...No insulin Shots any more. I am taking some glucophage, but I don't mind that so much. What I do hate is the ground up meds that I still take. As you can see I am still losing. I watch what I eat. I have eaten Hamburger meet, Pork chop, Fish, chicen and cooked Vegies. I ate Turkey at Christmas, A tablespoon of mashed potato, sweet potato, and green beans. I have not tried bread, but that is ok. My chocolate, and vanilla protein powder in my coffee, is still a great stand by for me...Yogurt for snack. I also have done Almonds (8) for a snack also. I used to never Burp and I do so now. I can handle that also. I am so afraid of getting stuck or to full and then have to throw up. But as Happy as a Lark with my weight loss. Louise
  7. Right now at the present time I feel great. Only a little bit of soreness. Still on the Shakes and soup. Tomorrow I start on the mushies. All is good. I can't wait until I go to the Dr. on Dec. 4. They will weigh me then and I will have an official weight. I just know I am going down down. I have not had to do any insulin shots for quite a while now. Primary Dr. said to only do the insulin if 100 or above. Happy to say my B/S has been below. I go to my primary Dr. on Dec. 9. So I will get to see how my A1c will be at that point. Everyone hang in there, I know I will, life for me is too short to not live it too the fullest. Louise
  8. I am 66 and I got mine on Nov 24, 2008. No pain at all really. I have had no problems at all. I did have a little gas pain. Actually I have not been hungry at all. I start on mushy foods tomorrow. I can hardly wait. I also have not been doing any insulin. I go back on Dec. 4, 2008, and on the 9th I see my regular Dr. So I am really anxious about going. Louise
  9. Thank you so much for your kind words. Tomorrow i get to start on mushy foods. So far I have not been hungry, but yesterday, my stomach was growling and growling, but I still did not feel hungry, so i guess it was just air passing around in there. My first Dr. appt is on Dec 4. I am quite anxious to go and get it done. Anxious to see if my scales are right. Well chat later, God bless you all. Louise:smile:
  10. Well i finally got banded on the 24th. So far so good. The only thing I hate is grinding up my pills, they taste so awful, bitter, but necessary. My husband of 47 years passed away on Nov. 21, 2008, and he made me promise not to delay the date whether he was in the hospital or not. As you can see I did honor his wishes. Louise
  11. I will be banded on 11/24/2008. I am very excited to be starting this journey in my life. I am 66yo, and hope to live many more healthy years. Louise
  12. Well I guess I finally got the ticker on right. It is showing up.
  13. Help with my ticker, I got it but don't know where to put it so it will show up.
  14. checking to see if I got the ticker tape on right.
  15. Did they have you do the other diet also. wk 1 I had to do a protein drink for breakfast the 300 calorie tv for lunch and supper. Also the snacks in between. Then week 2 was Protein drink breakfast and lunch, then a 300 calorie dinner, and my snacks, except at night I had to do 1/2 protein drink for snack. So of course wk 3 and wk 4 is the protein drink for all of it. I have lost 20lbs so far. I want the ticker on my thing also. Louise
  16. Hey thank you, I am so excited. I cannot wait to be a skinny senior citizen. Louise
  17. Guess what, I have a surgery date. Nov 24, 2008. I am getting so excited. How do I put a ticker up. I am down 20lbs. I am on day 2 of all liquid Protein. Would be nice to lose more lbs before surgery. The nice thing is i won't gain it back. Louise
  18. I finally got my date and approval. Went to the class that talks about after the surgery. I am day 2 on all protein drink's. Thank God I am not hungry. My hubby is in the hospital, and I am 28 miles away. Also my Appts, classes, and every thing is in the opposite direction 30 miles away. So today was a very long day. My class and then on to see hubby. I have also gone down 20lbs, since my first visit. Hard to believe. I can be a mindless eater when I am stressed, so it was hard to pass up on the Hamburger's and etc. Well bye for now.
  19. Thank you so much for the good words. Yes I hope to be a new woman. Today I helped put up a new fence for the dogs. I had the gates moved in so I have a long driveway to park the cars in. I was getting tired of opening up the gates, then get out of the car and close the gates. Chase down the dogs and etc. Of course the exercise is good..lol..But when winter really gets here, I won't have to shovel the gates out so I can get out of my yard. Since my DH has COPD and congestive heart failure no help there. Enough of this.. Louise
  20. I really am new. I am 66 years old and just starting the steps. I only need 2 more things to get done. I am hoping that it does not take too long for Medicare to approve me. I am getting excited. Medicare gave me a new knee last year, and I have been losing ever since i could start walking around again. So many chores had piled up and still not done. I also had surgery done on my c spine, it was poking into my spinal cord, it came out great also. So now that I can walk good and raise my arms up, I want to be healthy in the other ways also. I also have Neuropathy also. So wish me luck, and lots of success.....:crying:
  21. How do you get the Stats on below your info. I would like to post mine. just for fun. Louise
  22. The RMR was today, they had me lay back for 10 min then I had to blow into a machine from my mouth, to make sure you do this they have a cute little thing that clips your nose shut. My RMR came out as 3% lower than normal, I could have sworn that my metabolic rate would be slower than that. Oh well I guess we all like to think that our matabolism is really really slow. My H Pylori is a OK!! So the 15th I go for my upper GI, and I plan to go to my group meeting on Oct. 6th, then, they can get my paerwork off to Medicare. Soon soon I hope...i bought some of the protein Shake stuff so i could start on it for breakfast. I will start the 1st week of Pre-op Special Diet.. Louise
  23. I went to my steps class, last week, and they recommended a bunch of books, One I am interested in getting post op is: The emotional First Aid kit, A practical Guide to Life After Bariatric Surgery, Good for reading pre op also. Available at Amazon.com Louise
  24. yes I will, all I know for sure is it has to be 4 hour fasting. And no coffee, which may be hard for me, not really, but I do love my cup of Java in the morning. My appt is 10:30 so will get up early to eat my breakfast and take my pills... Whooppee....I am wondering when they will start me on the preop diet or whatever they call it. My steps to success class is next Friday, will learn more then. Louise
  25. No I have no Idea. But as soon as all the steps are done they will put it into medicare. They told me it is pretty fast. RMR is resting Metabolic Rate. I was the same way until I asked. They are doing the upper GI on October 8th I think. Then I should be done with all the things I have to do. Louise
