  1. Happy 59th Birthday ismeuk2008!

  2. 3 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 3rd Anniversary ismeuk2008!

  3. Hi

read you use local hosital for fill just wondering where abouts you are, was banded in June and band was damaged on first fill. Since it was repaired at the end of August I have had one fill..if you can call it that 1/4ml and was charged ?125...DESPERATE for a good fill..

  4. Hi I should have said between damage of first fill had to return 2 weeks later and had fill level checked by defilling and finding out what was in tubing... I was nearly empty only has 1/4ml left out of 5.5.. so this confirmed my leak..or rather my punctured tubing
  5. HI Sue11 I had a leak in the lower tubing, this was punctured on my first fill.. I had some trouble getting anyone to listen and belive that I had less restriction than post op. The fill provider was recommended by the hospital I used and the fill was also done in the same hospital. Fortunately my surgeon was called in after the fill providers 6 attempts could not find the port to fill me, he filled me first time. As he defilled prior to fill and found blood, he instructed the fill provider to put this info in my notes.. I think he suspected damage. Not sure if the fill providers insurance paid, but my surgeon replaced my tubing 6 week later at no expense to my self.. The operation was under a local, and I was discharged later that night.. I was a self pay..not cheap here in UK.. But I am very nervouse about getting my second fill
  6. Having just voted and seen the poll results I am surprised at the high number of others who have had problems with leakage.. I was under the impression that i was one of the very few unlucky people who had damage done when having a fill..( I was punctured on my first fill!!) Now really concidering having fills done only under x-ray although that would cost approx £250..in Uk (around $500..I think)..

Question for those that are banded

I have a 10cc band which was filled to 5.5. durring surgery. I asked my surgeon why he filled after placement and was told it helped to secure and reduce slippage
  8. Hi I am new to the site and your post was one of the first I have read and I am glad that I did. I have only recently got band fixed (it was damaged by fill provider on first fill) so still new to all this I can emphasise with you regarding how it feels to have extra weight.. I was a constant yoyo dieter, who promised this time the weight is off for good and got rid of my clothes.... to hear that you had damaged your band after doing so well is tragic I never realised this could happen. I am socked about it Best of luck with the re banding and I hope everything goes well for you. will look out for your update post
