Liz R got a reaction from BeanitoDiego in Peanut Butter
I love PB2 - still get to have Peanut Butter, but in smaller portions and it's so much lower in fat.

Generally I've never seen Peanut Butter on the approved list, but I did check on powdered peanut butter and was told I could add it to my Protein Shakes in the full liquid phase. The difference is the powdered (PB2 or similar) is significantly lower in fat than real peanut butter.

Hi Walterblock1
I'm 11 days post op (sleeve) and also had pretty significant gas pains. I found that walking really helped me. I'd get up every 2 hours or so and walk a bit. Also, even though it was uncomfortable, try to take some deeper breaths. Did they give you a spirometer in the hospital? I'm still using it at home and I can really see a difference. It WILL dissipate, just takes a few days. Now, I'm up to walking 30 min on the treadmill and feeling great. Hope your recovery goes well!!

I like the Premier Protein drinks.
So far, my favorite flavors are chocolate, vanilla & caffe latte. I have also tried caramel, chocolate Peanut Butter & pumpkin spice - all a bit sweet for my taste.
I'm on the Pre-op diet with surgery scheduled on the 20th. It is perfectly normal to be scared - I know I am! This is life changing, but we got this 👍

I am 4 days post op (sleeve) and had a tiny poop today. We're talking between the size of a regular M&M and a peanut M&M. Still a victory and not surprising, considering all I have had is liquid for 2 days pre-op and 3 days post. By the way, I've always been a regular pooper...hope that's not TMI!!

This is day 2 for me. I'm still in the hospital, but tolerating everything I have tried so far - pretty grateful for that
Popsicle, broth, Jell-O, Gatorade
My favorite is ice 🧊 chips.
I am getting up and walking every few hours, which is recommended!!

Welcome! Surgery can be scary. Mine (sleeve) is next Friday, but I am following all the suggestions made by my surgery team and trying to remain in faith rather than fear. This is a wonderful tool we can use to reach our goals. Try to remain positive & remember that we CAN do hard things!!

How is everyone doing? I'm feeling pretty crappy, but today is better than yesterday. I haven't been meeting my Protein or fluid goals, but I'm really trying hard. I am feeling run down, but I think that's normal. Hoping I feel stronger soon.

My surgery is Monday, October 9th, almost here, I'm scared, nervous, and excited. I know it's going to be a very long and difficult road, but I have to remember why I want and need to have this.

Having weight loss surgery is a big deal and not to be entered into lightly. Most people have to get to a point when this is the last resort. You know a light bulb moment. From what you have mentioned this has been it for you. Sounds like if you dont deal with this then this will deal with you.
It is not a magic bullet that will solve everything you will still have issues but they will hopefully be easier to manage. I have arthritis in my lower back and ankles. They no longer give me pain. I have diabetes but now I dont need to take insulin or any other medication to deal with blood sugar levels though I still check my blood sugar levels. I am not on any blood pressure tablets any more.
I dont break out in a sweat after having a shower. I can look after myself more easily and dont having a coronary while cleaning the house. It really is a huge struggle with a BMI of 51. I can go for a walk and enjoy it. Life is hard enough without the extra weight.
Be kind to yourself and your body. You can do this.
