    Getting banded tomorrow!

Good luck tomorrow! Make sure you walk, walk, walk. This helps the gas move that they pump in your belly. Also will help prevent blood clots in your legs. It really wasn't to painful just annoying nag. Make sure that you have something to moisten your lips with after surgery as they will be very very dry. Let us know how your doing and I wish you well.

    stomach sleepers

I sleep on my stomach 95% of the time. I was able to start sleeping on my stomach about 5-6 weeks after surgery and have no problems. sometimes I can feel my port if I lye directly on it but no pain and no problems with it flipping or anything. Good luck I know that I couldnt wait to get back on my belly!!!

    What makes/keeps you full?

I too was told protein first. Also, my Dr. told me no slider foods and no liquid cals. Good luck I'm just getting over Bandster Hell and its starting to sink in that this will work for me. The tool is starting to help I just have to stay on top of things and not fail.

    Endometriosis and Lap Band

I agree that the band is not what would be the helper but the weightloss is as that is what helped me. I had another laperoscopy to cauterize the endometriosis and was going to have my tubes cleaned out but found out I was pregnant. The Dr. told me that the weightloss and surgery are both of the things that helped

    Endometriosis and Lap Band

I too have Endometriosis and when I lost weight before, the pain was gone and I became pregnant. I was also told that I could not have any children so this was great. I believe the weightloss is whats helped. Good luck!

    BCBS-IL ????'s

My insurance was BCBS IL also and I was told by the nurse through the insurance company that the 6 month PCP visits had to be in a row. My surgery was approved within a few days. GOOD LUCK
  12. Things are going good. I had one fill so far but dont feel any change. I have another fill on January 29. I hit a plateau but I think as of this morning I broke it by busting my butt exercizing. How are you doing? When did you have your surgery?

    Help

Call your surgeon. You should not be chewing gum for this reason and the fact that it adds air to your new pouch. Good luck.

    First Fill

Tomorrow morning is my first fill. Im nervous because I was able to find my port just by touching my tummy but now I cant find it. How long does it normally take for the Dr. to find your port? I know that Im probably just freaking out over nothing but just needing a bit of support. Thank you all in advance.
  16. Today was my first fill and NO I didn't have numbing agent. Dr. had some trouble at first and only for a few minutes of poking and proding but it wasn't to bad. No pain just weird feeling and a bit of pressure because he kept hitting the side of the port.

    First Fill

Things went ok. He did have trouble for a few minutes. He found the port but could not get the needle in. Felt kinda weird but not painful just sore now from the poking and proding but all went well in my eyes. I dont know any other November bandsters but I hope that you all do great and hope to hear from you soon. Good luck!!!
  18. I have the same feeling. I was given a compliment today on how well Im looking and I said "no, not yet". I know that Im changing but until I hit a point where I can look normal in clothing then I will still feel the same. It will take alot mentally to get past this but I know we'll get there!! Good luck and great job on the loss!!!

Very very cute. Merry Christmas to all.

    Lettuce and Cabbage

Everyone is different but my Dr. said it is one that CAN cause problems but unless you try you wont know if it will bother you or not. Good luck

    My dilema

You probably do need a slight fill from what Im hearing around hear and from my Dr. When you have lost most of your weight you have lost fat around the stomach also which means that the band wont be as tight. Its never to late to get a fill. My Dr. said I could have a fill or unfill when ever as long as they are 2 weeks apart. Great job with the wieght loss and I hope I can use my tool as well as you have.
  22. You look great!! I imagine you feel great also. I hope that I do as well as you but Im still new at this as Wednesday is 4 weeks post op. What an inspiration. Thank you

    Advil/Tylenol

My Doc said nothing with an anti-inflammatory in it. Im not sure why but only tylenol and no asprin unless taking the baby asprin one a day. Good luck

    Dietician---6MONTHS???

I was required to do a 6 month piece and also see my Primary Care Physician every month. I did 6 months of WeightWatchers with the Dr visits and I was approved. I lost 20 some pounds. I think it is to see if you can follow a diet regimin and follow what your Dr tells you to do. Just make sure that when you go to your Dr it is for the weight issues. Good luck!!
  25. Congrats, you are doing great. Hope you get to your goal by your 1 year.
